That happens, buddy. Everything I read said the acrylic bottom wouldn't seal with the glass side panels, but the way it was installed, I couldn't get it out. So I siliconed her up heavy, and it's been holding great for the past 3 or 4 years.
so I haven't watched the video yet , so you may have already done this . it would be cool if you did a video on what plants are in your tanks, what plants you found do best in cold water and what plants you've found do not do well. as usual Brother, your fish room is awesome ! the coolest on youtube !!!!!! pun intended
Pun taken brother 😂 and thanks for the nice words. I do try to identify all the plants in this video. That's a great idea about plants that don't go great in cold Water, I'll try and cover that at some point. Appreciate your support brother.
I just found your video, 45 mins in, So your in Indiana ? awesome we need to get together sometime & talk cause I may have something you might be interested in for your fish room. If you get some fish bait shiners or minnows & turn them lose in the tanks they would go bonkers chasing them down Pretty interesting setup you have going there (new sub)
Awesome and glad you found the channel. Yes I'm in Northern central Indiana pretty close to the Michigan border. Shoot me an email @ ozzhomestead@gmail.com if you wanna chat about whatever it is your talking about.
The muddminnows are very eye catching, I haven't kept and pygmy sunfish yet, I seem to gravitate towards the middle to larger natives. Thanks for the offer though.
It's pretty easy, although I don't do alot of water changes, mostly topping tanks off and cleaning the front glass of algae. I have a faucet in the fishroom and I use a rv water pump to pump the water to the drain if I'm doing water changes.
dear, do you think an oscar fish can be raised in a cold water pond, without a heater? The temperature can reach 10 degrees Celsius in winter inside the house.
I don't have any experience keeping Oscar's in cold water tanks, but my first thought was they probably won't do to well in that cold of water. Check out Salient Aquatics, he just put a video out and is keeping Oscar's without a heater, but not as cold as you mentioned.
In the beginning of the video I think you said it was 57deg ambient in the room. What is the warmest it gets in the summer? Do you need to cool the room?
Normally sunfish from jonahs are gonna be small, so I would try to get them on pellet food, but in the meantime you could try any small live food like white worms or earth worm pieces. Then there's stuff like freeze dried krill or bug bites. And if all else fails they all sure love little pieces of raw shrimp.
Did you see my antique section of the fish room video big metal tank that was probably built in shop class at a school. Had it since the 80s just restored it
I do indeed like it. Thanks for the in depth tour!
Your welcome, glad to see this sort of thing pleases the whips.
@@MrBeeznutz All of us! 😆
Glorious
My favs!!!! Looooong detailed fishroom tours!!!! Awesome brother, I love your collection.
Thanks brother I appreciate that.
Love the grass pickerel. Chain pickerel is my dream fish. But I'm in South Florida and they're rare here.
Chains get huge too, but hopefully, someday, you can make that dream a reality.
Love the tour
Glad you enjoyed it Eric
Great fish room tour. I like to do soil and sand deep substrate too. You got some nice big tanks and interesting fish. New subscriber. 😁
Thanks buddy, glad you found the channel.
Love the old tank. I found an old slate bottom tank when I was young and I wish I’d known how to get it fixed up. I was young and dumb at the time.

The Umbra limi caught my interest!! Nice tanks. I have Elassoma Gilberti if you'd like to try them.

Such a cool concept I’ve never even thought of. I Feel strangely patriotic seeing fish from our country represented 😅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Diego, appreciate that.
Love this!! What is the music you have at the beginning?
Thanks, that's some folk music I found on kinemaster i cant remember the name of the song.thabks for the kind words.
Hey. How do you maintain all this stuff of the tanks? Water Changes? Siphoning? etc
It's pretty easy, although I don't do alot of water changes, mostly topping tanks off and cleaning the front glass of algae. I have a faucet in the fishroom and I use a rv water pump to pump the water to the drain if I'm doing water changes.
59F and my white cloud MM do just fine
They love those cooler temps, thanks for sharing.

In the summer it gets up to about 73 ambient temperature at the hottest part of summer, I don't do any cooling or heating down here.
Brandon, What should I feed sunfish bought from a place like Jonah's?

@@MrBeeznutz thank you sir
We are cut from the same stone we build or restore or make most of our stuff .
Yes we are brother,. Making the best of it.
That's why it's called a hobby not a buyey

You got that right buddy
Omg this is amazing what state are you locatedin and do you breed any?
We're in Indiana and no we don't really focus on breeding anything anymore. Thanks for watching and for the kind words Cole.
Could uou do a favour if you have time and list the species you keep because I hear the name and have no idea how to spell it to look it up lol.
I listed all species under the description of this video, thanks for the suggestion.
