I am so glad you did this! Harvia wants 1K for the controller. I heard you say you wrote a script for one of the apps, that is above my pay grade. Is this required or do they apps work out of the box?
Why 2 contactors and Sonoff? The inkbird smart controller should be able to energize the 120v coil on single contactor when it calls for heat by the inkbird set point. I am not understanding the need for the second contactor and Sonoff.
It’s simply there for redundancy. I have a 2 hr timer that initiates once the sonoff is turned on then the ink bird’s logic has to equal true for power to be delivered to the heater. It’s my fail-safe for cooking myself or relying exclusively on a temperature controller.
I was looking around for a HomeKit freindly controller. What are your thoughts on the Meross Heat Controller? Seems like their probe is rated for 110 celcius
So it took some trial and error but I simply bypassed the switch. That dial switch only counts-down when powered. Once you turn the dial to the ‘on’ position, it remains on and the only reason why that mattered to me is I wanted the LED on the heater to activate when the heater was powered. Once the sonoff switch & ink bird controller’s logic = true, the heater turns on. I failed the document the switch bypass correctly; otherwise, the video would be here.

This is awesome!
Can I ask how many KW your sauna is & what core wire feeds your sauna power?
Thanks. My heater is a 6kW Harvia heater and I have 10 AWG wire feeding it.

Hi dawn-ho, I'm not familiar w/ the Meross Heat Controller. If it has similar functionality, I'm sure it could be used in a setup as shown.
How did you bypass the dial timer knob that the heater uses factory to turn on ?
