Both movies had the same director, ie. Vijay Krishna Acharya who is just not good at directing.
Dhoom 3 ‘s saving grace was aamir khan’s performance action was awful, thugs was review bombed 2 months before its release on IMDb and other sites lsc consolidated the boycott laapata ladies proved aamir khan had been well and truly cancelled/boycotted
@@sajirshad2261 Thugs of Hindostan had a good IMDB on the day of its release (I think around 8/10), but after people watched it and realised it was bad, its rating dropped to 4/10. Laapata Ladies flopped as it was a niche film, such films rarely do well at BO, sad but true (just another example, even Tumbbad did only around 15cr). LL did gain appreciation once it released on Netflix. LSC flopped as it was a remake movie, and pretty average.
@@sajirshad2261 Even PK (due to anti-Hindu content) & Dangal (due to Aamir intolerance statement) faced boycott calls, but both became blockbusters. Just want to tell you that boycott may have some effect, but at the end of the day content speaks.

There was a whole campaign to pull this films pants down, look at peepli live did 30cr nett in Hindi similar social issue film as LL and laal Singh chaddha was just awful aamir khan was the worst thing about the film he redeemed himself at roopa’s samadhi which was an excellent scene.
