NDSU is an extremely run heavy offense (2.6:1 run-pass ratio in 2021) and their passing game is a pro-style system predicated on the QB making multiple reads and spreading the ball to multiple targets. In my opinion I think some people should stop looking at stars and size in recruiting. All the ones who aren't being highly recruited go on and have amazing careers. For instant Brandon Burlsworth and many more who went through the ringer but became great athletes neither does it matter the level school they go to
Exactly like look at baker mayfield who was a walk on not at 1 but 2 different colleges an won a heisman and went 1st in the draft an people did that about uga in the natty an said they couldn't win with a walk on qb but in reality its a TEAM effort.
Who tf is Brandon burlsworth? The stars usually come with performance and size is important. You can't realistically think you can be a defensive tackle is your 5'10 160 lbs. You think they haven't compiled all the data for positions like height and weight, speed or verticals, or other measurements for a position and figured out what is the ideal size? Sometimes a player will surprise people but for the most part stats don't lie. Every team probably has its own team of statisticians that pour through every data point to see if there is a correlation with a prospect and a hof'er or even good player. Nfl is highly competitive and they aren't just gonna give people chances, they stand to lose alot of money or their job. It's like saying we need to pick 10 black people because we need diversity, no you need to pick the best you can without excluding someone because of their race. Most of us would never be able to make a professional team, it's just reality. Some people just won the genetic lottery. Somebody made a video about height of (I think) qbs and receivers and if you are too short or too tall, you won't likely make it long in the nfl. I think it was by kts (I think that's the right spelling) but it's a good video to watch about that.
I've been on the C. Watson bandwagon from the beginning, when he was flying under the radar. For some reason, other WR prospects are still being hyped up in the 1st RD. Keep hyping them up, because I want the Packers to take Watson at #28, and you can have your Olave, injured Jameson Williams, and G. Pickens. I just hope, Gute is paying attention.
Cheers brother, our Packers upgraded run D and still got this man at 34, and the deep threat alone with Rodgers is scary. Randy Moss of the second round incoming.
I saw a clip of a play he made at Bama’s first team scrimmage. Ripped straight out a tackle by Jordan Battle and went from 0 to 10 like it was nothing just dunkin’ ‘n dodging players ‘till a couple finally got him down. I heard the same comparison made by one of the good folks at “TDA” (Touchdown Alabama Magazine) but that’s a pretty high bar for an incoming freshman. I’d say maybe an inch smaller but faster Waddle. Apparently he’s thicker than Waddle too which is crazy. If he has the confidence/the ability to go up and get the ball like Waddle did his freshman year than we’re in luck. He definitely has the speed to kill a defense even on a slant play that Ruggs/Waddle/Williams had. With Gibbs coming in (best catching hands on a RB in the country) as well as Jase’s hands the offense is going to be ridiculously good if Jacorey Brooks settles in and Burton plays up to standard. Having those 2 great pass catching RB’s/a decent catching TE will rlly help our young WR’s settle in.
bruh, he's like a supersized tyreek hill. i would rather for my packers to draft him than to get metcalf only because he'd be around for us longer. what im hearing is we will trade for metcalf in the draft, but hey, maybe we can work a miracle and end up with both. wishful thinking lol.
FML. My league is so lame for not drafting rookies earlier. I had him as my #2 months ago.... Guess all the tacos in my league will now have a shot at him...
No in the hell you wouldn't 😂maybe the end of the 5th, but we are not, I repeat, "are not" using our first 5 picks on nothing but day 1 potential starters! Try Skyy Moore out of West Michigan, Jalen Tolbert S. Alabama, or even sleeper pick out of Rutgers Bo Melton
Yeah those quarterbacks from NDS are sure working out well in the NFL. Must be the tough competition and schedule they tested themselves against in college. Huh??
He has good size and speed, although everybody’s at the combine ran fast. He’s a second round pick that someone could reach on but at the end of the day second rounder
As a Packers fan, I would love to see him in GB, especially after losing MVS. Comparing the two, Watson is a literal MVS clone, same height with a couple extra pounds but a smidge faster and much more explosive
No he won't. At best he is currently projected as a late first round pick. Even if there was a chance he goes before 28, they could always pick him at 22 if they wanted to reach for him
He has tremendous potential but he is very raw. People only watch highlight videos and claim that hes the second coming of Megatron. Watch the All 22. He has a LOT of work to do.
There is NOTHING ''raw'' about Watson. He is NFL-ready. That ''Raw'' comment came from a very early so-called evaluation written for a second-rate publication on 500 draft prospects. FCS prospect evals are written by non-paid staff and interns. Total bullshit.
@@DWilliams-ce8nb The only 1st rd wide recievers who made it that were drafted in the top 2 rds from the FCS in the history of football ? Rice,Moss, Steve Smith and Vincent Jackson. Vincent Jackson didn't even see the field his 1st 3 years. If you are putting Watson in the same conversation as the players I just listed. Watson is a phenomenal athlete, he played nobody and did not overwhelm. He caught 43 passes the majority were on a go route, his pro comp is Valdez-Scantling who he matches exactly. So when someone says raw he is correct. This doesn't mean he can't develope into a Hall of Fame one day, it means that he is a high long shot and is being drafted solely because he is a phenomenal athlete.
@@DWilliams-ce8nb so watched a highlight tape and know it all. Damn son. The NFL aught to be paying YOU for that knowledge. I've watched the All 22 on Watson and it's not good. If he's that good why did he dissappear in their championship game? (Except kickoff return)? He runs shit routes and fails to get open quite a bit. He fails to use his catch radius and let's the ball get into his body. He tracks the ball in the air about as well as my 13 yr old son does. Seriously. His quarterback sucked but Watson couldn't find the ball in the air unless his feet are on the ground and the ball is dropping directly to him. There's more, but I'm tired of typing. Go (pay for) and watch the All 22 and see for yourself.... Also, not saying that he won't become a great player at all. He seems like a great kid and seemed to learn quickly at the senior bowl. I think that either the Packers or Chiefs will take a chance on him on the end of the 1st or he goes before pick 50
Watson wasn’t in a position to really show out at NDSU due to their scheme. But his tape from this year looks great imo. He was a late bloomer and it’s obvious his best ballis ahead of him. There isn’t a more gifted WR in this class, which says a lot. The dude will block. Which means he’s an asset on run downs. I think he and Tariq Woolen are the 2 fastest players in this draft when it comes to pure long speed. Throw Jameson Williams in there, too. He’s got really good body control and a knack for boxing out DBs and high pointing the ball where only he can get it. He had to make plays on a number of poorly thrown balls this year. One was in that UNI game. An underground into double coverage that he converted with a circus catch. He’s got some wiggle, too. He’s speed pops on end around and jet sweeps.
"Flying into the 1st round"???? He was never not going to be a 1st round pick I said he was 1st round talent months ago... Remember, these "analysts" get paid to say whatever their producers tell them to say. They said Wentz would be a 2nd/3rd round pick and said Trey Lance would be a 2nd/3rd round pick right away too... So he has never had a good season at any level?
Ahh yes. The annual NDS draft prospect that becomes an instant bust.
Eagles should trade back again and grab him
By the way...that NDSU WR coach who convinced the coaching staff to offer Watson a scholarship...He went on to get hired by Bill Belichick and coached WRs at New England for a few years before coaching at Northern Illinois. He marked the 3rd (I believe) NDSU coach who was coaching in the NFL at the same time during his stint at New England
Hope Bill gives this kid a solid look. We could use a low key stud WR with up side
That’s why I love the NDSU. I am from Fargo so I got to see their rose from being ok to winning all their National Championships
He's 1 of my 2 sleepers to slide into round #1. 6'5" and runs a sub 4.4... someone late will take a shot with him if there's a mid round run on receivers.
I want him on the Packers so bad, he’s the perfect guy for the team
im also a packers fan bro, i want him on our squad bad. but what im hearing is that we are going to trade for metcalf during the draft. id rather have watson because he'd be around for us longer and i think his potential could exceed metcalf.
@@yulboothe4540 not a chance we trade for metcalf man, but yea i'd definitely have watson and another WR for the same reasons you said
@@apinecone2753 bruh I'm telling you that's whats gonna happen. U can see the vids on here. I'm not "guessing" that's gonna happen. Mike g and lefleur have said "it's the most logical thing we can do" and they've said it multiple times. We have first and 2nd rnd picks. I don't get where this "not a chance" is coming from when they've said it repeatedly. Why do u think no else has snagged Metcalf yet? I'll be back with a " I told you so" after the draft. Watch
@@yulboothe4540 why would any team give up high draft picks to basically rent DK for the year? DK is looking at a big pay day next year and the Packers are not looking to enter a bidding war for a player like Metcalf. I don’t know why you’re so certain about this when it makes no sense. Oh and btw, DK showed up for the voluntary camp in Seattle this week so that tells you he’s not going anywhere
@@JefferyT1991 bruh our coach and gm has stated this. U bumping your gums at me when you should be mad at them for saying it. And it don't matter that he showed up. He still wants to leave 🤷♂️, and HE stated that. Doesn't want to be part of a rebuild. And did u see the article this morning. We are the #1 suitors deebo. So that whole word salad u just tossed went out the window 🤦
In my opinion I think some people should stop looking at stars and size in recruiting. All the ones who aren't being highly recruited go on and have amazing careers. For instant Brandon Burlsworth and many more who went through the ringer but became great athletes neither does it matter the level school they go to
They loved the sport and loved the work they had to put in...
That's what pays off in the end. Is the work
My point too many folks get hung up on 4&5 star rankings

He didn’t have the production people like to see on paper because we run the ball 90% of the time 😂. People need to watch tape.
Nah he’s going #39 to the bears!!! (I hope)

I'm From Tampa. Plant, Armwood, Jesuit are major power houses down here for HS football
Or freshman Aaron Anderson from bama, I think he has Tyreek Hill potential
There's never been a T Hill but now u think another will come along this quick? No chance
We need him on the lions he sound more like a dan Campbell guy
Y’all have two wr already
It is not Tampa Bay Florida, it's TAMPA Florida !!!!!!!!!!!
bruh, he's like a supersized tyreek hill. i would rather for my packers to draft him than to get metcalf only because he'd be around for us longer. what im hearing is we will trade for metcalf in the draft, but hey, maybe we can work a miracle and end up with both. wishful thinking lol.
FML. My league is so lame for not drafting rookies earlier. I had him as my #2 months ago.... Guess all the tacos in my league will now have a shot at him...

he won't. 2-3 rounder. too unpolished

Hes not a first rounder. Late second with his drop rate.
Late bloomers tend to have longevity

No in the hell you wouldn't 😂maybe the end of the 5th, but we are not, I repeat, "are not" using our first 5 picks on nothing but day 1 potential starters! Try Skyy Moore out of West Michigan, Jalen Tolbert S. Alabama, or even sleeper pick out of Rutgers Bo Melton

Yeah those quarterbacks from NDS are sure working out well in the NFL. Must be the tough competition and schedule they tested themselves against in college. Huh??

#22.
He was also hurt for a few games in 2021 otherwise he probably would have had over 1000 yards receiving

He's going to reunite with Trey Lance 😎
every one who gos to plant gos pro it seams like
As a Packers fan, I would love to see him in GB, especially after losing MVS. Comparing the two, Watson is a literal MVS clone, same height with a couple extra pounds but a smidge faster and much more explosive
He will be drafted before GB’s turn to draft.
No he won't. At best he is currently projected as a late first round pick. Even if there was a chance he goes before 28, they could always pick him at 22 if they wanted to reach for him
A diamond in the rough. The Titans could use him.
He has tremendous potential but he is very raw. People only watch highlight videos and claim that hes the second coming of Megatron. Watch the All 22. He has a LOT of work to do.
Exactly he is a 4th rd project, a great athlete but extremely raw.
@@DWilliams-ce8nb Lol. His route running is dogshit.
Indy gonna snag him
Jalen Tolbert is better and hopefully the ravens can pick him up second round
Watson looked far superior at the Senior Bowl.
He’s speed pops on end around and jet sweeps.
his route running is pretty bad though. he's a freak but he's a project. mid to late 2nd early 3. I'd love to get him there
@@edwright7436 first round
He will be the best Wideout in the draft
Keep saying NDSU is just a big school playing small schools. It's things like this that make NDSU spit out NFL players.
"Flying into the 1st round"???? He was never not going to be a 1st round pick
I said he was 1st round talent months ago...
Remember, these "analysts" get paid to say whatever their producers tell them to say. They said Wentz would be a 2nd/3rd round pick and said Trey Lance would be a 2nd/3rd round pick right away too...
Watson could go top 15 overall
