Always appreciate the ammo reviews, I feel like the game doesn’t always make all the details apparent so this helps
Yeah the game gives you literally no information about them. It's annoying.
I find that one of the best benefits of flechettes is usually in team play. A solid body shot can take an enemy out of a fight for a serious period of time, during which a coordinated push can be really really punishing, either in picking off the bleeding opponent who is already on the backfoot and has to make a serious choice between healing or fighting, or in applying pressure to the remaining enemies while their comrade is off healing. In the end, flechettes are a jack-of-all trades ammo type that excells best in teamfights.
i mean... you know what also takes out an enemy out of a fight for a serious period of time? Death. Why would I try to make dude bleed if i can just one tap him with slug.
Flechette is really good once you stop thinking of your shotgun as a shotgun. It took me a bit to get used to that but once I did, it worked out great. It definitely shines when you play duos or trios though, being able to make people bleed over ridiculous ranges is super useful since it kind of takes them out of the fight for a moment and it gives your teammates easy follow up bodyshot kills. I've also had plenty of moments where people couldn't get to cover to stop the bleed so they kept trying to fight and just bled out, very funny when they just drop! The damage at range is nothing to scoff at either, when you hit a decent spread they often take damage like they were hit with a rifle.
Springfield Dum Dum is pretty similar. I've stopped a lot of people trying to rush me down by getting a quick tap to the chest with a Dum Dum. Brings them down really low and with medium bleed, so they have to deal with it immediately.
Fletchette is funnily enough a good counter to shotgun rushers. Like you said the amount of people who bleed out because they had no choice and they were out in the open is funny af.

Rachta of the Bayou, what is your wisdom?
- "If you wana play solo with flechette, don't play flechette"
I play solo 5-6 stars
I ONLY run shotguns with flechette
Buckshot is to inconsistent
Id somewhat disagree with Rachta’s approach to flechette
Honesty, man.. You have taken this game by the balls and worked it to its core. You could easily outplay any of the devs and do it with your eyes closed for fun. You put out more content than Crytek. Keep up the good work 🙂
"Taken this game by the balls and worked to its core"
Man, I can't stop laughing.
The Devs actually play their game and what do you know they of course arent 6 Stars obv.
@@Bloodreav3r Thanks for finding something negative in a positive comment. Learn to construct a proper sentence and try not be be so toxic online. It's not good for you.
@@tristanfletcher you are the one being toxic lol. All he said was that the devs also played the game, although they aren’t the the absolute best at it but they still play it. You on the other hand are criticising the devs that are understaffed for not pumping out content often.
@@xornedge8204 Go back to the little bridge that you crawled out from underneath like the troll you are. What I said had absolutely nothing to do with an attack on the Hunt developers and I nothing but admire their hard work and the game they've created. Thanks for more online negativity that the world needs so much more of...
I've subscribed to the flechy lifestyle ever since custom ammo launched, and they're pretty good when you stop thinking "this is a shotgun." You wanna stop and aim. You wanna hit the upper torso. The bleed also takes them out of the fight, meaning you can either get a free heal, or a free push. Specter compact with flechy isn't that bad. Rival handcannon is less good.
Also flechy trades are hilarious
6 months later, what are your thoughts on the Flechy compact or the Terminus with Flechettes if you've tried it?
Review ur Crytek Partner application next!
He said im no one cancel rachta!
I would've paid big money for Caldwell rival with Dragons breath and Romero with flechette for the ammo and the swap kill
i started using flechette for consistency, because it guarantees every kill will take 2 shots (even at a longer distance) which i can prepare for better than if i expect a 1 shot kill and get a hitmarker
Rachta Z is literally the Hunt: Showdown professor. Always love you educational content my man. Keep up the great vids, look forward to your next one!
0:57 the chapter "but for example... but for example" dude i love your humor 😂
As always great video Rachta always informative, that last game though, man it's like you know how you can tell when someone is choking?? Haha, it happens to the best of us lol, great video again bro
This video was so helpful, I assumed buckshot was the same as flechette with the only difference being the application of bleed and the removal of penetration, this video really explains my frustration.
Been wanting more detail on these nuances! Thanks. Have you thought about investigating the less common bow ammo types?
Concertina bow- scrapbeak
Frag bow- bunker buster/bayou mortar
I can see how someone with godlike aim like you would prefer slugs over flechette
really enjoyed the part where you showed how you can do the same with slugs :D
The new questline made me go for the "Make other Hunters bleed" and I went out in the Bayou with Rival 78 + Flechette ammo, and it's sooo much fun! Hearing your enemy dropping dead behind cover due to bleeding is really satisfying. The extra range is soo good and i haven't traded as much as with . I'm 1.5k hour in the game but haven't tried all the ammo yet. Rival + Slugs is next up!
Same story, but with Specter flechette, such a nice combination to play, the thing with flechette is that bleeding usually makes them run away immediately, if they weren't one tapped
My issue with special rounds in a shotgun is that a shotgun already does exactly what I need it to do. It can 1 tap, it can wall bang, and it's the best close quarters option. I can see running Flachette in a group, but I just don't see the value in putting $200 slugs in a shotgun.
Slugs guarantee one hit kill if you aim well while normal buckshot is RNG based. Slugs also extends your effective range to around 50 meters, you can still do moderate damage at that range where as normal shotgun would never be able to do that. If the slugs are free what would you choose LOL
Nice vid Rachta good job!
informative with good humor 10/10 i love it
what about the buffed dragon breath review next ? :)
Thanks for the advise
On the topic of slugs, if you decide you're a masochist you can go long shotty(Caldwell usually) with Romero, slapping both Romero's slots with slugs for something like 20 reserve slug shells. A single ammo box gives 10 iirc, and worked better than it should have without needing anything but quartermaster.
5:36 by the time you heard the shot, you were already dead, spitzer is insane
he would have died 0.08 seconds later with normal long ammo, so...
Yo! Great video. Can you do a video on how to infiltrate compounds? Like that jump up to the wall I didn't know about that but I could have used it a few times!
I swear you can read my mind Rachta, I was telling my hunt squad why flechette is good and bad yesterday and then you go and make a video. Awesome, love the video as always, stay cool as ice!
bangerrrr video thx!
SHEEEESH rachta these shots go crazy
I like it because in close range in the open you can shot them then they panic because of the bleeding which forces them to run to cover to stop bleeding or bleed
Thanks for giving light to my favorite combo -_-
“Oh its double cain GG” had me on the floor that is so relatable
But you’re solo phantom and that always beats double cain, right?
I was using flechette specter compact as a secondary, and I shot at someone right in front of me but all the pellets hit the small fence post In front of me. If I had regular buckshot.....
I’m surprised you don’t like the medium slot flechette shotguns, I find I get most success with them paired with an obrez/long ammo rifle, and have it as a decent backup on the ranges the rifles are too close for.
Most of the in compound fights you had I felt like the two taps would also work with the sawn off shotguns, but you get to use a more reliable long ammo rifle so your followup flechette shots are more likely to one tap.
I enjoy flechet because the situations flechet shines in it shinnes bright. I play a lot of solo using cheap ish builds and trios will respect a shotgun a lot more than a rifle when pushing you. In the past I've been able to fall back or a repositions because people stopped to take care of bleeding. I'd say flechet gives you more utility(?) at the cost of some killing power. If yoh just want a shotgun to one tap people inside a building I think you're better off with buckshot or pennyshot.
Nice and interesting video dude, thx.
I've got more than 4.000 hours in the game, since the early access.
But I think, you should play it the other way around. Shoot them with Flechette first, and when they have to stop the bleeding and move slowly, then use your Uppercut or anything else to finish.
That worked fine for me and much better than the other way around.
Keep up the good work bro.
Greetings my Czech neighbor from Chemnitz Saxony. 😉
The purpose of using long ammo to tap first is becuase the follow up shot doesnt need to be accurate, its an easy 2 tap instead of a shot then a focused 2 tap. I use pax dum dum with specter flechette. I use the pax first and then the flechette to increase the bleed :)
That many hours and still a 3 star brain...
Could you make a video like this but for dragons breath? I’ve always been curious about how many meters you are able to set someone on fire from?
You should seriously try Springfield with dum dum ammo. 132 damage with medium bleeding. OP.
Thanks for the video)
I've been loving flechette since I unlocked it with the Terminus.
My favorite combo is a sparks and any shotty with flachette
best vid 2022
"He must be low!" - Rachta Z
me: dying anyways
Immolaters are best friend with Flechette, got it!
I play a lot of Specter dragon’s breath with uppercut and I’d say a lot of the advice is similar between the two. Lot of fun to play, but man sometimes I play a normal shotgun and am shocked at how much easier it is to actually just kill ppl with random 1 taps then with some elaborate dragons’s breath or flechette kill XD
Dragon's breath should really do the same damage as buckshot. As it stands, you just set the enemy on fire instead of killing them.
@@cassidy8307 Same damage as buckshot?? That would def be too good and really annoying
@@JesseAStern All the downsides of DB already exist; higher cost, requires ammo boxes, very slow muzzle velocity, no penetration. It doesn't deserve a damage nerf on top of that. Even if it was buffed, I really doubt it'd be that strong, especially considering slugs exist.
@@cassidy8307 Ya, I kinda see your point, but I think most of these "downsides" would be small compared to the upside. For ammo, I never take ammo box and even when I don't have bulletgrubber and spam shots at range for ignitions, I basically never run out of ammo. If damage was buffed, I'd use even less, so I think this is sort of a non-issue. Lack of pen occasionally matters, but shotgun pen is lackluster in general anyways so as the specter and romero can't follow up quickly I almost never wall bang ppl with it (I almost always opt to use FMJ pistol/uppercut/obrez at that point). The velocity is easily the biggest downside, but at the range where it rly starts to matter, buckshot won't one hit kill so I'd rather need to lead and light them on fire, even burning off a full small bar semi-regularly at quite a range. So ya idk, even after 2 dmg buffs we are far from it being buckshot dmg still. One more dmg buff might be fine, but all the way to buckshot seems excessive imo. Very cool to hear your thoughts though. All interesting points to consider.
@@cassidy8307 I do agree with that it would still be weaker then slugs of course, but I'd rather not make that my new standard XD. Too much fire in the meta might be kinda awful, so I'm cool with it always being a little worse then buckshot in PvP (and it is already better for PvE not that any of us care lol)
You should do springfield dumdum round next with pax dumdum sidearm
Love flechette, good vid
good video ty
14:22 - 14:52 This is what my brief experience has been using slugs on the Romero, so I guess my aim just sux but it looks like some of those should hit. The last shots though would land somewhat with buckshot because of wider spread, or?
Could you go over the posion ammo for each gun? Like I've heard it's bad for most guns but on the sparks it last 15s
I play it often as solo
Keeping myself outside of the normal shotgun 2 tap range and keeping the enemy under constant bleeding pressure to not get pushed
It's especially nasty if the enemy is low on medication and can't afford beeing hit for 25 over and over again
berthier dead eye with spectre compact & fletchette is the shit :D
Crazy gameplay!
10:16 from that range you'd deal even less damage with buckshot. Your reticle was hunter-sized there. You hit 80-100% of your flechettes.
Nice Video
Great video
This video is very well made and informative, would love to see more videos like this
the examples given gameplay etc.
Dude you are sick 🔥
Or be a fun guy and bring 2 spectre compacts, one with slugs and one with flechette and somehow get work done with them. For some reason, the terminus just doesn't seem to do well for me...need to test the Rival Hand-Cannon.
Love you bro
Would it be too strong if it could one tap at around 6-8 meters like Dragonsbreath can?
Flechette is a massive pressure tool, I hate getting hit by it.. makes a bleed and hits like a truck, throw it on a terminus with levering, the enemy can hardly even fight back at decent range, it's really effective in compounds when enemies don't have much option but to get close like blanchett or testimonial
Rachta, how you made the announcement (black and white, like "BUTCHER Banishing") less obstructive? It makes me angry every time when I look on the map and it covers half of the screen. Same with the fights
can you do a audio and headsets video if you havent done one already
Handcannon with flachettes as a sidearm... 😏
Imho, Flechettes are good for team games, but the tradeoffs make it kinda hard to justify for me personally. For instance you can't pen walls at all, and that's a big loss for most of the shotguns. Had you've been able to use it on a Romero and be able to swap the ammo with regular buckshot/slugs, I'd have taken that in a heartbeat. But since none of the shotguns with Flechettes can swap different ammo types, you're forced into these imperfect tradeoffs. Honestly I'd love to see them on the LeMat, it already has terrible spread by default and it would be a decent alternative for people who don't want to fork out so much for the slugs but are willing to lose the penetration [honestly, who wallbangs with a Lemat? Lmao]
nicer dicer
And because it suits know the bleeding ammo with secondarys please !!!:)
The funniest thing with Flechette is that my friend spent days pronouncing it as if it rhymed with "Machete"
I do not like flechette ammo on rival.
Rival just have to little ammo in reserve and its ammo pickup is the worst.
On specter tho Bueno
that's a lot of phantom
This really is some amazing content Rachatz. The stats in the store are atrociously misleading. You really shed some light as to how the ammo and guns actually work. If you’re down for it, please make more content like this in the future.
Also I have to day, aim down sights with fletchette god damn. I usually don’t ads with buckshot because you don’t really need to. But the fletchette spread is so tight, that even when you’re just a tad off even at 20m, you lose out on a lot of damage. I personally find a lot more success when I ADS.
Anyway great upload as always, stay groovy king
Woohoo, best clip ever.
Flechette ammo, for me, is my only option because it allows me to treat a shotgun like a close-range rifle, which is necessary because of my ping. Otherwise, shotguns are useless to me.
I had no idea you could use it like this...
if you have money, take slugs
if you don't have money, take slugs
shotguns have the most interesting and game changing ammo in the game
YAY
the problem is, everytime i use special ammo i die instantly and cant use it at all haha
Here for the algorithm.
I haven't used flechette much ingame, but on paper it seems terrible. You basically convert your shotgun into a rifle, but it's not quite there because of all the bad stats associated with most shotguns; low total ammo, low capacity, slow reload, and sometimes a slow firerate. Even the damage at range isn't that great compared to fmj or dumdum. It also loses penetration, has some rng, and it can be overpriced sometimes as well. I don't get why you'd ever use it aside from bleed, but again, dumdum exists (and fmj is usually even better than dumdum too).
2 Cains= boss fight 😂
niceee
5:39 Okay, no more Hunt Showdown for today
I subscribed bc it said if u read this u need to sub u sir are a marketing genius
Slug ammo is something i still have a problem with :/
bruh, everytime i use slugs i die and cant get a single kill haha. sometimes i dont even shoot
Dragons Breath Next!!!
Hi twitch!

The only time I find flechette useful is when I'm fighting against skilled players that will just hold an angle and wait for my head to come round the corner into their iron sights. I just jump shot them and keep applying pressure, they never get more than a body hit while they bleed profusely.
Been noticing you rarely take fire, and never take dynamite. Why is that? Do you take fire for teams?
I dont use frags or dynamites because its "boring content", but its good
I like this video
Killed 3 hunter's by emptying my spectre into the crowd with flechett ammo (:
pog
Where’s the shovel review huh?
Breakdown full matches or riot
Flechette is more consistent/reliable than buckshot
You just have to play differently
How does it fare against dumdum ammo? Like what makes more sense to run?
It depends on what your load out is and what you want. I can't reccomend using dum dum and flechet in the same loadout. Dum dum ammo functions identically to flechet except for rifles and pistols.
I personally think if you're going to run a bleeding ammo you'll want flechet over dum dum. FMJ is more likely to give you value over dum dum.
Make a video on your movement though. Shit is creamy and I can't replicate it exactly so I need the secrets
Сейчас все будут бегать только с флешетами🤥
