Even with one (functional) arm you’re better than 99% of the rest of the Detailers around the world. Hope you get well soon. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year Jim. Thanks for so many incredible videos this year! Best regards from Bavaria Matze
Hi Jim, since the Christmas party at the Peninsula, the car has competed in the Tour Auto from Paris to Biarritz, the Mille Miglia Warm -up based around Ascona in Switzerland and the Mille Miglia from Brescia to Rome and back. We finished every event without any issues and I drove the car to and from each one. It was also on Chicane's stand at the AMOC Heritage Festival a few weeks ago. Still looking great, thanks once again for a fantastic job!! John
Jim White! Probably the best detailer in the world. He reaches parts other details can’t reach! Have a peaceful break Jim and we all look forward to your next masterclass video, it will be worth the wait as always.
@@vernonheine5476 I also agree, Sandro is a fabulous detailer, and I have learned so much from his tutorials and tips. The work he puts into his videos is incredible for our benifit. It would take years to learn what they willingly offer. Thank you to all UA-cam detailers that make the effort for our benefit. They certainly have made me a much better non professional detailer in a very short time.
Once again Jim has exceeded expectations. After a complete bare metal respray, the paintwork looked very good. However, that was before Jim set to work. His attention to detail is incredible and the end result is stunning. Little wonder the car was awarded the inaugural "Rory McGregor Piston Award for AML Restoration" at the AMOC Area 00 (London) Christmas Party. Great job, Jim.
Just a thought on your elbow pain and radiating shoulder pain.....riding motorcycles can be very uncomfortable due to an often unnatural position. If you have pinched a nerve in one of your spinal vertebrae, you will get a radiating pain from, and through your shoulder as you described. Your C6 is a common one (depending on your posture on your bike...are you too tall for it, too small etc etc) to cause the sensation you described. Just ask a decent chiropractic specialist to give you the once over. You may find you need an adjustment and if you do need one, that pain might be able to be removed with the right guy. Try and go for word of mouth recommendation near you and book yourself in for an inspection with him. It might be a waste of money but given that you often stoop over in your job, you might find its the best spending of £40-50 you have ever spent. Hope this finds you well. Happy Christmas.
That’s what I call dedication to your client, working through your pain to deliver the customer satisfaction. Another excellent result to end the year on. Hope you get the rest and recuperation you need. 😊
I love watching you work. I always learn great techniques as a result. NOBODY is more thorough than you. Wonderful cinematography and editing too. Thanks for your efforts.
I commented early and didn’t realize your pain. I’ve had a C5/C6 fusion due to radiating pain and numbness. I’m actually currently recovering from left elbow lateral epicondylitis surgery. It sounds like you may have lateral or medial tendon issues? Please rest and recover well Jim. Merry Christmas and the best to you and yours.
Hi Jim, The finished results are superb! I would just like to say, your: skill, commitment, resolve, work ethic and morals are top notch and a real credit to you. Those qualities are a rare commodity in this country in this day and age. Bravo!
Jim, you are the perfect person for the job of working on a historical Aston Martin DB2-4 your attention to detail is amazing! The car looks incredible!
When I dropped my car off with you in the summer, I was talking to my friend about the impact that doing your job 5-6-7 days a week must have on your body. Take good care of yourself Jim, you're a cracking bloke and I hope you're on the mend soon. Have a great Christmas and rest up plenty!
My favourite part of the video is the wash process Jim. Sadly this actual car does nothing for me, but your work ethic is always impressive and you didn't let us down this time either.
As someone with both Large and Small nerve damage for the best part of 18yrs i can agree its no fun. Unfortunately if it is nerve damage then there is no cure or fix. I can only recommend going into a pain clinic, GP's cannot really help you for pain. Here in the UK, "Tapentadol" is the best drug for helping with pain. Its specifically designed for nerve related pain. Only released in 2012 so still relatively new. As of 4 years ago i got a "Nevro Spinal Cord Stimulator" implant done at St Thomas hospital in london. Absolutely amazing. I no longer have any pain. But if i turn the stimulator off then i will be crying within mins. Best of luck with your diagnosis.
Even after watching you for all these years Jim, the finish you provide is still ten-fold above the rest! I've been a mechanic for 20+ years mate, and trust me, I feel your pain. Tennis elbow, white finger, shoulder nerves and terrible knees are all catching up with me too. Keep up with the exercises (they will help) and I wish you all the best in the future. Keep safe and Merry Christmas mate
There's always something very satisfying about the older cars. Hope you get lots of R&R over christmas and beyond Jim and come back stronger than ever. Thank you for all the content. You're the master.
Firstly wishing you a speedy recovery & enjoy your time off! No-one is gonna think of you/your work being a "let down". As one of the elite detailers there is your work on this car still surpasses other detailers. Merry Christmas etc & here's to 2024!!
I can fully sympathise with your pain and symptoms. In 2016 I prolapsed 2 discs in my cervical spine. I had horrendous nerve pain down my left arm into my fingers. After several months awaiting surgery I eventually lost control of 2 of my fingers. Surgery was the only option. I had ACDF Surgery to C5/C6 C6/C7 which involved to implant discs being fitted and a metal plate to create a fusion. After several months and successful surgery I was completely pain free with full strength back in my arm and fingers. I hope you get sorted ASAP Jim and manage to get some rest over the Christmas period. Stay safe and get plenty of rest. Merry Christmas to you and all of your subscribers. 👍👌🎅🎄
Get well soon JIM, The reality of detailing and it's toll on the body, I'm sorry your in this pain and I'm sure you'll find a way to overcome these obstructions.
Jim you are truly a master at detailing, you managed to pull this detail off with that much pain in your arm is absolutely remarkable! Inspiring me to do even better. Happy holidays and hope you can get some well needed rest now.
I did detailing for 9 and a half years and found towards the end that while polishing my left hand would just open and I would drop things. I hope you find a speedy yet effective recovery method and dont lose any quality of life.
Trapped nerve at the bottom of your shoulder blade. Stretching exercise’s required. Arms straight up and make a Y, force your arms back and head forward until it hurts, hold that shape until the pain reduces. Now lower your arms to make a cross and do the same. Lower again so you look like the letter A and do the same again. Repeat these exercise’s before or after work. 👍🏻
Rest up and get well Jim. Careful with the long rides, heavy bike helmets and certain seats can really cause some injuries, you are not alone. Try keeping the rides short once you have recovered.
Wonderful looking car with stunning curves. Once again you have made the paint pop and look like the paint is wet, hope the arm improves it would be a great loss if you stop to many of us who follow you. Merry Christmas.
Outstanding work as ever Jim you really do have such an eye for the smallest details and your workmanship is of the highest standard. You managed to keep your standard of workmanship on point even though you are clearly struggling so much. Hopefully the Christmas break and time off will help and you get the right treatment too. Hope you are able to enjoy your Christmas and New year. Look forward to seeing your next job in 2024 have a good one and all the best, thanks for your fantastic videos.
I got left in A&E for 13 hours with sepsis. Coincidentally ended up in Salford royal for 4 months and a Titanium neck cage as the sepsis had eaten me ( in layman’s terms ). I suppose the point of the comment Jim is I understand ( it was 2 weeks before anyone took me seriously ) pulled muscles and F off kinda thing. So never take no for an answer when it comes to the medical profession. YOU KNOW YOUR OWN BODY ❤
One of the joys of advancing years Jim. A few years ago I developed chronic knee pain that lasted for months. I could barely bend my knees and it seemed to come out of nowhere. In the end I discovered it was all due to me putting cranks on my mountain bike that were 5mm shorter than my previous ones, then neglecting to adjust my seat height! 🤔 I did a thorough bike fit and the knees were fine within a couple of weeks. I do a thorough stretch session at least once a week now and find it very beneficial.
As a long time Subscriber...I really have to say, what a magnificent car and what a magnificent Job. Respect. I really hope You can rest and heal.... And come back with more..
I know exactly what you're going through I am experiencing this with my legs right now... Electrified shooting pain down the back of my thighs and calves.. making an extremely painful and difficult to Walk... Yes I'm laying on the couch right now in zero pain.. but when I go to stand up bam pow boom...I am nailed.. Nearly falling over
I,ve had exactly the same nerve pain. Had 3 injections. 1st was moderately successful, 2nd aggravated it and 3rd worked a treat. the second injection was the most painful experience I have ever had. It was like my arm exploded. For the 3rd I was undoubtedly terrified but I felt nothing after a quick prayer. Still get slight twinges but all is good.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Jim! Get that shoulder taken care of ASAP. You deserve some time off, and shoulder recovery is a good 4 months. Go relax and we'll see ya in 2024!
What a glorious old Aston, and yet another fantastic detail, even more so considering your health issue. As someone that's suffered with back issues for over 6 years, you have my utmost sympathy! I really hope rest and medication does the trick. Have a very happy Christmas and I wish you health and happiness for 2024.
I hope you're going to be better very soon , the life of a detailer is a very physical one . After 34 years in the automotive industry as a detailer and spray painter, i now pick my battles and only detail collector cars or vehicles for car enthusiasts.. I hope you have a very merry Christmas and a great new year.
It seems your one off the unfortunate ones in the trade sadly , i'm starting to ache in my arms but i think thats due to my age (64). Had an injury at 50 on my shoulder due to kickboxing but kept polishing and doing bodywork and over the years its not caused much pain. Keep moving is my motto . Great work very impressive 👌
I had a pinched nerve that laid me out for over a week about 15 yrs ago with very similar symptoms as you described...I just lived with it for years despite chiropractic, massage, acupuncture etc. The ONLY thing that finally gave me relief was using an inversion table!! Helps to open up and "unload" the spine and get things flowing again. Well worth looking in to...I think it would help. Cheers!
I know exactly what you are going through with your arm and nerve damage. I have 6 pinched (to varying degrees) nerves in my neck and just driving around town will cause numbness. I do hope you can find some relief and a fix. Best wishes as always.
Superb detailing on a beautiful car...I’ve learnt so much watching your work but I can see that I still have more work to do on my own skills...thanks and keep them coming...hope you rest up over the Christmas period and enjoy a full recovery...
Sorry to hear the news Jim plenty of rest over the holidays to rebuild yourself as you are such a perfectionist and it shows in everything you do. A beautiful job as always take care and hopefully get better soon regards Dave
Sounds like you have the same problem I have, herniated disc at C 6/7. Pain can excruciating. Cortisone shots help, haven't had surgery, been avoiding that at all costs for now. When it is real bad I sleep sitting up in my easy chair, trying to lie down is murder. Also doing shoulder shrugs helps. Good Luck! By the way you do great work !
Hello, thank you very much for your information. I empathize with you exactly. I have also reconditioned cars for years, but not as perfectly as you. It's great how you give us so many tips. I wish you a wonderful, pain-free Christmas and good luck and health for the coming year. Best wishes from Germany!
Beautiful work. Way to battle through the pain Jim. I have cervical nerve impingement myself so I know how you feel. Ibuprofen is the only thing that helps but surgical decompression is probably our only option for a permanent solution.
