    Mines leaking near the oil pressure switch (common problem on these) changed the oil pressure switch but looks like it’s coming from the rocker cover and leaking down on to the alternator area. Where was yours leaking?

    Why do you need the silicone? What kind of silicone is it? I'm doing mine soon, looked straight forward until you mentioned the silicone.

    perfect. Just replaced mine and didn't know I had to apply silicone (how comes it needs silicone plus the gasket?) I'm not in the mood of taking it out again, so I'm afraid that I will have to find out if that silicone was really needed.

    • @TomsDriveway
      @TomsDriveway  5 років тому

      Hahaha, I think it has issues sealing as the timing chain gasket protrudes above slightly. If it's fine leave it Haha.

      @@TomsDriveway I guess I will find it out soon. That damn oil always seems to find a way out, no matter what

    Any tips for removing the plastic bit on the left side of the rocker cover that goes to the oil pressure switch I just snapped the bottom clip and the top one don’t wanna budge I don’t wanna snap both 😂

    • @ryanneill1822
      @ryanneill1822 5 років тому

      Also snapped the tab on the wire that connects to the oil pressure switch any idea how I replace this without having to buy a whole new loom 🤦‍♂️

    • @TomsDriveway
      @TomsDriveway  5 років тому

      Having a nightmare haha, dont worry you could always cut it and solder a new wire on anyways. Easy enough, just heat the plastic slightly only slightly and a small flat head.

    • @TomsDriveway
      @TomsDriveway  4 роки тому +1

      The haynes manual suggested to because of the gasket between the time case and the block.
