I listen to a lot of audio books. One thing is for sure. The one reading it makes all the difference. I won't listen to computer voice. I've probably turned off some good books because of this. Just can't get into it.

I’m I missing something here? You’ve got listeners who are saying they enjoyed this and it stopped 2/3 of the way through. I came to this because I couldn’t stomach the on with the AI voices but now I’m back there to finish up. I’ll be more cautious on the next one.
Could not finish. Reading is bad, the writing is less than serviceable. Forget about any logical underpinnings. Mediocrity at its finest. Not surprising these are popular. 🙄

Well read Geoff, tried to listen to another version. I lasted 5min , it was a gurgling AI voice. Thankfully yours was the next voice I heard
