Its funny, Sigung plays right hand dominant, I used to too, but Sifu makes us play left hand dominant for balance, I havent asked but maybe Sigung is left handed.
Funny thing in this they went through most basic testings a couple of times with Koot Fa Tau variations. Part of the yelling bits are what we call Hua Gu, you can play with three or five (9) Chits or shouts. SAR PING REPRESENT!
well done i wouldn't say it's so spectacular compared to other performances but being a musician and firstly a drummer myself i understand the difficulty in maintaining a beat! AND MAKING IT CREATIVE great performance look forward to hearing more!

Can someone please explain to me the history of this new hok san "sar ping" family drumming style. I know everyone uses it npw and its purpose was to modify the traditional drumming to fit the jong competitions right? Am I missing any other key details? How many other Hok San drumming styles are there besides the famous Sar Ping stlye?
Yeah, in Chinese tradition the sound of drums during Chinese New Year will frighten off devils and bad fortune. It seems like tradition is getting further and further away from us as time goes by...sad.
Hey to matao1981 If you think he don't deserve to be the world drummer! Who else will deserve? Are you able to play better than him? Are you able to get such a big group of people involved at a sync timing is hard but he make it possible given the age of him playing at such event is definitely not easy but he manage to do a great job

Hey. I have a drum that is loose and cold. The beats sound a little off. Have any tips? I found a tip saying to put it in the sun for 2 days. If it works, I have a question. If you put it out for 2 days, do you leave it overnight, or, leave it in the sun then bring it back in and bring it back out tommorow. Reply back. PLEASE.

@zorgon992006 I don't think a commentator on this film should be a better drummer than the performer in order to give a reasonable comment. I agree that the performance in this film is nice, but its title is still an exaggeration. To be a good drummer is vastly different from being the World's Best Drummer 世界鼓王. So while the uploader of this film could be criticized for an overly sensational title we should give the performers a thumb up instead.
I have a suggestion for sifu, if he dropped the drumstick again, just throw the other one away and use the bear hand to finish the rest of show. I think ppl might not know he got an accident.

打了几个礼拜架子鼓，结合个人经验觉得这位鼓王的鼓点不含糊，又轻快，节奏均匀，听着十分舒服不觉得烦躁。

我是覺得這別叫世界好了，因為世界不是只有他會，但承認就一個這年紀的來說鼓是打的很好了，但我覺得鈸太多了如果少一點更有FU，而且如果鈸比鼓多是不是違反了些禁忌，但不得稱讚他輪鼓很強，很多變化不會太逆，如果是獅鼓應該配獅子吧？這樣不會有點冷場的氣氛嗎……以上唯我的感想，如果有誤請見諒😁

难道就一定要他们调教，才不是垃圾狮团？他们曾经何时也是从民间狮团接触舞狮文化，一步一脚印才有今天的成就。民间有很多龙狮团，也有很多高手。大家都不分你我他的宣扬舞狮舞龙的中华文化。舞狮是文化，不应该分什么垃圾不垃圾的等级。要知道天外有天，人外有人啊。

有人拿台灣九天或優人神鼓與此相提並論，根本是風馬牛不相及。人家是在比廣東獅鼓的技巧，九天或優人神鼓只是自創的鼓點或和太鼓，完全不同的東西是要比較甚麼？
我覺得這個影片還好，太制式的打法，沒有太大的起承轉合。
