I worked at beautiful Twin Pines, '79-'80, and lived in the roomy log bunkhouse (now a guest cabin) when Francis Rickers was foreman running 350 head, a small outfit with only three hands (including Francis). It was the first morning stop for the school bus (departure at 6am, ninety minutes to Wheatland), and much of the road is fifteen miles of gravel from the pavement... quite a memorable place, VERY remote, superlative hunting.

My great uncle, Larry Gerke, use to own and operate that ranch. I knew he had retired and sold it or is selling it, not sure. Many memories of that ranch the history, the scenary, good times. I miss it there. I remember my uncle taking us for rides in the back of his old military truck around the ranch. There is so much I could tell you and I have meny picture of family gatherings at this ranch. God, I miss that palce so much. If you see Larry, please tell him his nephew Tom, his sister Nancy's twin grandson, says Hello and he misses them.

I've had the opportunity at bison a couple times at this ranch over the years and this video does not exaggerate. the place is amazing and the current owners care a great deal about the ecosystem of the ranch and their bison herd. I hope that whoever it does go too cares as much as they do.

Thanks for your comment Eric. This ranch is truly a special place, and one of the more unique ranches someone could find!

I truly hate so called game ranches. That ain't hunting that's slaughter.
