Hi brother Hodge, glad you liked the package, hopefully you can get some use from it. Good to see you have finally got an ABL to go with the 4K PRO, now you just need to mount it behind the objective lens. This redistributes the weight quite a bit. I did it to mine and the change was very noticeable. Finally thank for the shout out. Hope to get out on the rats this weekend so more videos soon. Stay safe and happy hunting.
Its been great seeing your channel grow, looks like your in top gear sailing up to 10k before you know it! i think i might try the torch mounted on the bottle with that rail adapter, see how that goes. did you need anything to mount the abl behind the objective? or just strap it on?
@@meatheadmarksman2013 had to print up a bracket to support the ABL but thats it. As for the bottle bracket , it is still joined as some bottle allows it to push on. If it is too tight just cut with a hacksaw blade and then fit using a picatinny mount to reclamp the bracket. Any question give me a yell.
I had found these slugs from the guy that's making them for FX, rat sniper slugs, they work great with my Crown and original slug liner. It was a wow. They also worked in the original STX liner, and were less expensive. But if your hunting they’re still worth it.
My first tune was a 948 with a 10 shot 5 dev. , the stock tune was 750 with a 10 shot 7.1 dev . ! Both shoot well out to 40 yards , I’m looking forward to a range I can test accuracy out to 100 yards ! I think a larger 580 bottle may be my next purchase ! Always, thanks for sharing !
Great video as always Got my superior liner and the fx hybrids a couple of weeks ago in .25 I found the slugs had a lot of fillings on the back of them it took some time to clean them but man was it worth it. 25cm group at 100m @930 FPS on a calm day
Good review. They are hard hitting. I shoot them out of my Diana Skyhawk in .25. My Impact is a .30 caliber and I look forward to the day they com in .30
I’m happy shooting my .22 impact with 25 grain slugs @ 970 fps. @ 50 yards it’s slug on slug. I haven’t tried the hybrid slugs yet, kinda hoping the price will come down a bit 🤷♂️. My impact came with the superior liner already in it but because I’d already brought a slug liner A for it then that’s what’s in it. The superior liner is in the loft probably never to see the light of day 🤷♂️. I too use the 3-14 atn 4K pro with abl. Good work on this video ! . For me the 25. Hybrids was a disappointment with the slug A and later the superior heavy . I tried from 880 too 1050 FPS with no luck. I’m back on the NSA 36.2 gr. Can’t wait to try the new knockouts .
I'm testing some .25 hybrids at 801 it's 1" at 101 yards with 4 mill hold over. Going with nsa 38.4 after sample pack but that was 50fps loss same tune and 7 mill hold at 101 yards. 2" group opens up, hoping higher velocity will shrink group back down to ½ like at 30 yards.
@@meatheadmarksman2013 I dont know either my friend I was just brainstorming ideas why slugs that like speed shot better slower because I get the same results..but when you get access to the nsa slugs....the 33.5s are just incredibly accurate
I have some ordered, pre-ordered that is. I hope they work well in my guns, so far I have found a slug they really like, but of course, they are pricey, more than these.
Just tried the JSB Knockouts in 216 cal, 25.39g. Getting 50 cent size groups at 100m. Using Impact mark 2 at full noise. A bit surprised with these being 216 cal. Should have known being JSB’s
Can you shoot pellets out of a slug liner using the same pressure as slugs? I’m trying to shoot in the yard with pellets and when I go north I shoot ground hogs. And would love to shoot slugs up there. Love your videos
I have been mucking around with slugs through a STX pellet liner on a Dreamline. I'm shooting rats at only 5-10 yards, so accuracy isn't an issue, but there is one thing I simply cannot understand and that is this: my 14.3gr practice pellets at 940fps hit a target at 10yds two clicks below 25gr H&N slugs at 780fps! If the slugs were tighter in the bore and got a velocity boost I could understand, but the FX chronograph doesn't lie. Maybe at that close a range either the pellet or the slug is still having a bit of a wobble as it emerges from the barrel, and at the target I'm seeing one or the other running either below or above the average line of flight because of the 'wavelength' of the wobble? Once adjusted both are accurate enough for my purposes and the slugs are devastating to the rats. Of course, there's always room for more, and a PowerPlenum and a 480cc bottle will let me use the pellets with around twice the shot count. Happy days, as you say!
I think Its more likely that the slugs are leaving the end of the barrel on a different barrel vibration node, perhaps one that is at the highest point of its travel.
@@meatheadmarksman2013 Another thought for those of us who don't yet have the bottle option: there are several barrel-bands available to tie the barrel to the air cylinder (something impossible on an Impact), as some complain that there is a point-of-aim change after leaving the rifle leaned against a corner. I have a couple of them, and while I confess I leave my rifle just that way - it needs to be able to be grabbed and used as soon as I see my hated vermin eating the bird feed - the barrel bands do not seem to deliver. But taking OFF the barrel band gives me far more consistent results on a target. If I upgrade to a bottle I won't even have this option, and the fact it shoots better makes me happy!
@@drmoss_ca free floating is usually better for accuracy then a barrel band. It seems like a weird quirk of the airgun world that people want to sing the praises of barrel bands that they've made themselves or bought because the barrel "looks wrong and wobbly" I don't get it, if it helps it helps but I reckon 99% of the time it probably doesn't help lol

Edit I DO however have a 10 percent flyer ratio that I cannot fathom aside from maybe it’s the ammo or maybe it’s the Crown? Maybe it’s both? the one thing I do know is that when I do have a flyer it ALWAYS has a spiral that kicks in at about 45/50 yards and ends up roughly 2 inches left & low! it’s like one in 10 Hybrids is out of balance/weight with the others, I shall wash & weigh & see what happens 👍🤙 just to add 101 in the 🇬🇧 are spot on and quick reliable delivery 🚚😎
