The fish were Australian Stripey (Microcanthus strigatus). Supposedly they do a great job of aphasia control, get along well as a pair or in a small shoal, and are both reef safe and hardy... Or so I've herd, this was the first video I've seen them in the US. And I've never been lucky enough to see them in person. Definitely a bucket list fish, that is not a common import. Despite living in a massive area from Hawaii, to Japan, to Australia; they are very hard to find in north America. Also this tour was awesome. I've herd of Rt66, but being a wholesale center that's as far as most of us get. It's a fun look into an amazing business. thank you
That fish you were so excited about is a Stripey, (Microcanthus strigatus) very common in Queensland, Australia. They are actually used here in aquariums to eat aiptasia.
ORA has a pretty amazing ocean water system going on as well! They pull their water from a saltwater well ( or wells, not sure if it’s 1 or more ) the tides that are created with the coral systems are amazing and definitely something anyone who loves reef tanks should check out! Mr.saltwatertank did a video recently really showing how they manage to create waves without any electricity being used. Super cool! This was a great video also not trying to take away from this by any means!! I just caught what you said in the beginning and thought maybe you’d be interested in seeing that and possibly recreating that tide/surge effect since you farm yourself at the shop yourself! Love the vid guys great job and have fun with all of the travels throughout the USA!
Great video , fantastic to see Pat and Tia too present . Remember I said about par ? Why bother - it’s all relevant to your nutrients and whether the corals look good or not- knowing your coral is more important than the ‘number’ . I too only rested with a par meter out of interest and found the g5 at lower numbers than the g4 but the corals look fine. Lovely laid out wholesaler .
Awesome tour, great tips you’ve come away with here March, the corals look 👀 stunning, look 👀 forward to seeing how many tips you employ back home at your store. 👍🏴 You’ll have to do a video on just that. 👍
1:50 I know that guy on the right Pat, if I am not mistaken he is Canadian. I used to speak with him at all the RAP and some of the MACNA's, really nice guy.
Awesome tours March! The 2 things I would be most interested in is what they run their po4 and no3 at and then also par. I always recommend a little less par as it is always safer and have noticed great growth. Similar to the numbers they use. It could also depend on what their nutrients are.
March, that fish that you like is an Australian Stripey, they are fantastic for eating aptasia. We have heaps of them at our local beach here in Western Australia, you can catch them with a small hook baited with a piece of prawn.
In today's snowflake society, it's almost impossible. No one wants to work, the slightest hint of stress they break down and are suddenly sick, they feel like they are worth 10 times what the normal pay range is, even with 1 to 2 years of experience. It's ridiculous. I'm in IT and in a high level position that hires and oversees multiple employees. The workforce has changed and not for the better. All for better pay if someone os experienced and contributes. If someone thinks they work 2 hours a day and expect a six figure salary, not happening. Hang in there, it takes a while, but good people are out there.
Another great video i love learning how other people do things also surprised on how he has 2 lights on a 8'x30 tank but everyone is told u need 2 lights on a 4'x24
Don't wait to back up your business or home, a generator doesn't just save your investment, it makes life a lot less stressful, and a lot more comfortable. We went with Generac and never had a problem, the investment is 💯 % recoverable, a whole home natural gas generator is huge selling point!
Damn good content, please consider a free option in KRISP to mute all the machinery sounds, Krisp would only register voices. Better camera and a stabilizer would do wonders, your from Toronto it's not hard to find new or second hand. Brush, cut & polish this diamond in the rough! all with love from Montreal!
3:24 😳 Look how high all the lights are from water? I don’t get it…. Say for example those corals were in home tank at mid depth of 24” tank, making them 10 inches from water surface same as those frag tanks. Nobody would hang halides a meter above the water line like he is doing here? Just Wild…
I have a dual titanium heater with the inkbird from BRS and I am getting stray voltage and getting shocked. Only used it for 2 months and to take it offline. :(
I’ve always cleaned my substrate and never have a problem I can’t imagine not cleaning it all the food that’s not eating get stuck there and all the fish waist there no way in hell I wouldint clean the substrate
Amazing video and shop. I have requested that they look into selling directly to the public. They said they were looking into it. Maybe base their public sales off the WWC shop(s).
If they went retail....they'd lose every single wholesale order....it destroys the supply chain and puts LFS out of business....this is a commonly know thing in the industry...no LFS to inspire ppl....No reason to have wholesale...then no reason to import....no import and your selection gets smaller ...as an LFS myself....when I see a wholesale cutting out the brick and morter shops I cancel all future orders with said wholesaler...I don't care how good they are...we can always cut them out too and go direct to the supplier of the wholesaler so they need to tread carefully even talking like this to ppl
@@strat1960s wwc is an LFS that's farm's their own stuff and probably minimally orders wholesale....which is a great trend for LFS becoming sustainable long term
Why you keep interrupting people after you ask a question 😂 or you go look at something else even while they are talking, let us get the full asnwers man 😂
Shimmer comes from tripoint light placement and flow not from T5... T5 manufactures are stopping making them due to ecological laws in the EU. T5 was working as a old car that burns tones of gas VS a hybrid or electrical car, both works one is the future and a smarter choice. Go watch BRS new project for 52 weeks of reefing, it will be the nail in the coffin of T5 use.
It is great to see the commercial side of our hobby. Thank you for another wonderful video

I love the simplicity of this place . The ‘one switch’ system .

In my opinion your HDHD make you one of the best UA-camr in UA-cam
New to hobby - love the videos
Buying fish online - looking forward
Best coral duo back at it again with another great video
I love FragBox TV! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥰🐶❤️

Took me 2 years to find a second quality full time employee. She starts today actually! To say finding the right person is hard is an understatement.

One of the best videos yet, thanks :)
Damn that place is gigantic. Very cool setup
Lessssss goooooo March and Tia vlogs are NEXT LEVEL GOOD
A 44 Min video!!? Oh hellz yeah 😎
Love the video, cheers from Los Angeles
I could stay there all day wow great video love the content
The owner should have joked, HEY look at the time.
Lots of stores here in Orange County California use Catalina water. I used to use it a lot for a long time never had any issues.
Not worth it with gas prices unless you are hauling a few thousand gallons of water. :)
I believe they get there water from Catalina. In San Diego we have access to water from Scrpps pier, which supply’s the Birch Aquarium.
March that fish with the stripes you said you have never seen is an Australian stripey, they are pretty reef safe and eat aptasia like crazy
I agree on the sand bed take, I use snails to disrupt the sand and other than that I just leave it alone.
Great video👍🏾
Great video.. 👍 thanks
Catalina island ocean water we use and love that stuff here in LA !
My LFS sells water from the ocean, pulls it out of Catalina lsland
Love the eye candy 😍

Yeah I am still thinks about getting one.
That shot of Tia close to the endddd

Simplicity at its finest
that brilliance coral looks like a crab nebula
I prefer this video style than a gimbal. Makes me feel like I'm there. More personal. Like inappropriate reefer.
Hey March! So you don't vaccum your sandbed or that's different. If you don't vaccum what's a good alternative to mix up the sand in a nano
exellent vid .....yet again
39:00 looks like a galaxy cluster, something you would see NASA release as a pic from Hubble!!!
4:53 Almost every coral vendor that I have been to uses ASM skimmers.
Using natural water is big in Melbourne Australia ,cost me $200 for 1500 Lt delivered
Put two neptune skys over your acro tank March....you'll be amazed after a few months
A player in the trade!!!

1:50 Maybe that would be a good time to introduce everyone, this is my first time watching your channel, I have sub;d.
This is cool!
Been buying corals from Eric for the past 13 years
i think its not only with corals thats hard to find staff nowadays xp
Do you ship to USA 🇺🇸?
Did the owner just say some of his tangs eat aiptasia, and your OCD kicked in and you missed it lol
Wow If I went I’d be like a kid in a candy store & in a lot of debt 😅
Time for fragbox to move to CA
I am a superfan 😅
Oh cool I've been there before but you have to own a business and buy in bulk.
aussie stripey. great at eating aptasia. caught locally here in NSW australia.
😁🤘
I’ve always cleaned my substrate and never have a problem I can’t imagine not cleaning it all the food that’s not eating get stuck there and all the fish waist there no way in hell I wouldint clean the substrate
Getting dizzy! Cmon man get a gimbal!!
And a microphone
My old ears can hardly hear anything lol
