Morgan was cleaner but brought a knife to a gun fight with the selections. VSU had the selections but sound wasn't quite there. I was feeling VSU more.

I love my alma mater to DEATH, MSU, but why they had to play that Tony Braxton song so FAST? I need them to become a little more familiar with the battle expectations. Yes, Morgan always has the musicality, but this is just not what we come to see/hear during a batlle. LOVE YALL THO! I will say that the Foxys have come a long way since I graduated. I hope with the new and great leadership that they have they will recruit well and only become greater.

Although VSUs sound wasn't clean, the overall presentation goes to them. Idk know why Morgan chose those selections for BATTLE and why they continue. I was also hoping for a change from that dreadful Baptist church tempo from the Miles Era😮💨. VSU for the win #fairmorgan

Honestly if you ask me, I thought Morgan sounded cleaner and played more creative music. If you here only to crank and shake yo ass, Morgan isn’t the group for you. Morgan had intros…mash up sections and creative outro sections. Vsu didn’t play one tune with a bridge or any song with a progression longer than 4-8 bars. Then the obligatory Sousaphone breakdown. Vsu came out like it was the third quarter not the fifth. That’s not to take anything away from V-State either. They sounded pretty good for what they did. You just have to acknowledge the difference in musical approach.

Morgan State sounded better and it’s not even close. VSU played grooves while Morgan played actual songs with musicality and difficulty.

Tryna figure out this MSU sound better stuff y’all talkin bout! Maybe it’s the wind cuttin through that I’m hearing but them bones sound horrible and overall sound is distorted!! VSU bones, tubas, mellos and trumpets showed more depth than Morgan!! Horsepower still pack a gut punch!!

Morgan didn’t have to do too much… tbh I feel like we made an example out of VSU musicality wise. In this battle I mean, but 5th quarter on the other hand…😂, I feel like we stood out the most out of all the bands with our songs. Sure we played what you may think is boring in this battle. It’s our first year, we made a statement with our Toni Braxton song since she is a Maryland native while also displaying musical abilities. We got a whole different playing style than VSU, they don’t play!😂🫣 all these tuba breaks, we came hard with virgos groove Vsu came back with a lil baby song, cute… with yet another tuba break, then random yelling that looked mad forced😂😂 that’s what y’all like?? what happened to musicality???

Yall didn't do anything at all, we made an example out of yall. You attack our tuba breaks yet we were still better. Yall was honestly hot garbage on the field and in the stands. Yall were so bad and boring that Rickey Smiley cut yall off to introduce us😂. Tbh yall went hard during the 5th quarter tho and yall energy was there. Every band there didn't have to play too much during 5th quarter cause we were tired from ACTUALLY playing. The other bands and us know how good we are, yall had to compensate.

This was....disappointing all around. VSU didn't sound clean, and Morgan apparently didn't know this was a battle with their music selections. Good grief, I guess VSU wins whatever this was.

@@mekhi4538 It's not always about having the same old bands there. It's called a showcase for a fucking reason. It's supposed to give multiple bands a chance to show who they are. VSU has been there 10 times now, FAMU 7, and etc. It's for ALL BANDS not just Jackson, southern, and Famu
