I have an ext drive that was specially formatted (wbfs) for the wii. It does work properly with my wii. Now I want to connect it again to my pc and the wii backup manager. I do everything right as you sescribe at 4:00 min on and when I want to chose the right letter (thats F in my system) it does NOT appear in the manager. How can I make it work again? Already thanks

Right. And that deals more with the Wii. It is like trying to use a Mac OSX or Linux program on a Windows PC. IT just does not work. Glad you got the drive working and enjoy the Wii!
WBFS is a filesystem that was designed specifically for the Wii. Windows can use NTFS and FAT filesystems. So this drive is not recognized and the reason Windows wants to format it is to make it a recognized drive. You will lose everything on the drive is you format it as a NTFS or FAT as I watrn in the video.

I had one external hard drive 500gb and one flash drive 32gb, I formatted the 32gb and moved games to it and it all worked fine. Next day I went to access my external hard drive it said "not formatted" and no access just as the 32gb flash drive message was after formatting, lost years of data idk how this happened, now trying to recover it. Maybe the safest way is to unplug all external hd while you do this because I think the program is bugged.

Forgive me I am a noob to hacking Wiis. But what Toshiba Drive? Is the HDD in the Wii a Toshiba? I have a Wii and someone put home-brew and USB Loader on it where is a good tutorial to find out how to put games on an external and have them work on the Wii. I tried using Wii backup manager last, it detected the games and transferred them to the external drive but I don't know what to do after.
The drive? Wii Backup Manager is able to recognize the WBFS filesystem for games. When dealing with other things, like Homebrew, you can also use this, but most people install these files directly to the Wii.

Which version of WBM do you have? I installed 78, and when I load it, it doesn't show the drop down drive selection menu on the Drive 1 and Drive 2 tabs. I never had this problem before. I recently formatted my laptop so I don't remember which version I used before
@@WhenCornAttacks yeah i think it was just a bad ISO, use vimm.net/ its incredibly slow but you get what you want, also download vimm.net/vault/?p=nkit#t ( then you can convert the nkit iso (download nkit iso bcs it spares room) to ISO) then drag your nkit to the ISO coverter and it will load a new file, it will be in a map called processed.
Format your drive to FAT32 instead of WBFS then create a folder on it called "games" and drop your GC ISO's directly into that folder. You will be able to load them all with the Nintendon't gamecube loader.

Hi tristan498. I am unsure, but I believe it recognizes gamecube isos. I believe there is another emulation project that deals with GC isos though. I could be wrong. They may have integrated it with USBLoader. I would check other tutorials for more info. I have not touched my Wii in almost a year.
My suggestion would be to reformat the drive and partition it. Then have a dedicated WBFS partition (using WBFS Backup Manager to do this) then the other partition for WiiWare games, etc as a FAT32. There were programs for the PS3 that did this, but they were not great. I don't know of one for Wii, but theother option I is getting a scrubbed image or using Wiiscrubber. The easiest though is what I suggested first.

Not at all. This is the first time you would be formatting the disc. Afterwards, Wii Backup Manager will recognize the WBFS formatted disc. Hope that helps!
I did a mod for a friend and did this video for him. He had bought a 3.0 USB toshiba drive that was not supported and caused issues with the Wii. I believe I reference the website that show supported drives for ISO Loader.
@@katsperino i figurée it out, i was downloading multiple types of files from the internet then realized i need .7z files then i just exported those files in 7zip and then added those .wbfs files into wii manager then it worked.
im using WBFS right now, and thinking about this because of all the issues im having, why does it ask you to format your drive when you plug it back in? and wbfs has problemss adding multiple games, then when i test them and put it back in my pc, it makes me format, have you used wbfs? and if so is this one better, using home brew, (microwave Sam video) will it work with my hack etc...
If you legally own them, you may want to try looking for a newsgroup server. I have had a lot better luck looking for images of the discs I own when using a newsgroup server. Nintendo is pretty good about getting to sites and doing the DMCA takedown. Be warned, a newsgroup server is only as good as its community, so the older a console, the less likely a thriving community will be there to fulfill requests.

If you are looking for something which does not bow to DMCA claims, try out SSL-News. Most others, when dealing with Nintendo, are up and down within 2-3 hours. Wii may not be as highly watched any longer, however.
TheHunterTeen you can purchase games for the Wii for cheap on ebay. Once you have the games, you can find images of those same games in multiple places online as torrents or on newsgroups.
I've spent the past week ( just went over 60 hours) trying to get this to work. When i load the file it makes a sound and all the files are red. None show up for me to convert over to wfbs. What am i doing wrong? I know its a long shot anyone even sees this much less sees it and can help
bro I did a few things that might help you, when opening the program, make sure you are downloading the right one for your computer. You can see if your computer needs the 64 program or the 32 program. I dont really know the vocabulary for it but just search up how to tell if your computer is 64 bit or 32 (please correct me if im wrong). Once you download the right one, make sure your game file is an .iso file, if its not, you can download a converter here vimm.net/vault/?p=nkit , and then I bring the file down on the files tab and then i make sure my drive is in (my drive is already formated to the special one the wii can read) then i click on the checkmark and then transfer it to the drive and BAM

The person I made this video for had a USB 3.0 Toshiba external drive. You should not buy a 3.0 USB compatible device. Stick with 2.0 USB and go to the compatibility site I show at the end of the video to see if the drive is compatible with the Wii and more specifically USBLoader or other game managers.
Hey Olivia. Cover art and game art is not supported by the servers on backup manager any longer. This happens. However, look at Configurable USB Loader. They should have support for this and they will be downloaded to your SD card. Keep them there and don't delete them. Back them up on your computer, just in case support stops for this later as well.

This makes no sense to me. How do I get game of the disc? My dvd drive spins up and down constantly.
