    Congratulations for the review. I think that many printer manufacturing companies listen to the opinions of the public who buy their printers and do the opposite.
    Trend of which Elegoo is part.
    The Jupiter was the only Elegoo printer to have a hinged lid with front opening and in my opinion, and many others, it was the solution that should also be adopted with the other printers that would follow the Jupiter. Now the Jupiter SE also has a lid that needs to be lifted 😢.
    In addition to having to leave free space above the printer to remove the cover, which in this case is quite a bit, you also need to have a place to put it.
    For me it's pure madness.
    I stayed with my very good Elegoo Saturn 4k which still prints great, even if I have to lift the lid, but apart from the Jupiter which cost much more, there were no other solutions.
    8K,12K,24K etc printers are only useful to UA-camrs when they need to show prints under a microscope. A good 70% of people, when they print a model, don't examine it under a microscope.
    You paint it, put it on a display shelf and you can't see those micro details of difference between a 4K and a 12K

    I use a MITYVAC Manual Fluid Extractor for my Saturn. It's a large syringe. It takes half a dozen pulls to clear a tank, but its so much less mess and I'm not worrying about tipping a large vat over a funnel. It's easy to clean. Just suck up a little of your alcohol baths(in order) and its good to go. No touch. No paper towels.

    I have a jupiter, 2 saturns and 1 mars and I only print small scale stuff. I need the large jupiter to print small scale buildings that wont fit on the saturn. But I can not tell much difference with the prints, I print 1/160 scale models down to 1/450 scale models, the jupiter quality looks just fine. I sell the stuff I print and no one has complained or even pointed out one print look worse than another.

    So - unlike the Jupiter this resin feeder sits on the side, and screws on. It replaces the cap that was on the bottle OG. . .I know jupiter had some cap adapters you could print. . .would the same logic work here? Or always save an Eleego bottle if you want to user a different resin?

  • @johnhinkey5336
    @johnhinkey5336 Рік тому

    I have had issues with this style of build plate and leveling system on my Mars 4 Ultra - it's really hard to really get all 4 corners level as it depends greatly on the build quality/accuracy/precision of the build plate manufacturing and the build plate rails and arm relative to the screen. Hopefully they got this right on this larger machine.

    • @FauxHammer
      @FauxHammer  Рік тому +1

      its a hard one with this mechanism because you really need to overtighten them for them to stay in on the same place, but if they are slightly out when originally overtightening them, you can score into the metal frame and trying to get it back where it should be will become impossible.
      i screwed up my original Mini 8k by doing this.

    • @johnhinkey5336
      @johnhinkey5336 Рік тому

      @@FauxHammer I am working with Elegoo (who's been very responsive) on trying to fix my Mars 4 Ultra leveling issues. Sent them a video of me doing the leveling at the end of which one corner was loose and would raise up after all four bolts were gradually tightened. They apparently thought my process was correct and without even asking sent me a new build plate which did not solve the problem. @20um layer height being off a little in the leveling can mean the difference between something sticking to the plate or not. That plus I've found that my Mars 3 and Mars 4 Ultra build plate surfaces are not very flat (they should be flat to well less than a 20um layer height), which aggravates the leveling process. I'm experimenting with putting spherical washers underneath the 4 leveling bolts on the Mars 4 Ultra to see if that improves the ability of the build plate to stay flat against the LCD surface while tightening the leveling bolts. Also will be shimming the "L" brackets that connect to the build plate since I've measured some significant manufacturing accuracy issues. These machines are amazingly cheap, which is great, but in some ways they are a little too cheap which can cause issues. Continue the great reviews!

      Depends on what youc an afford, the 8KS comes acrross a much better bbuilt and has slightly beertter bprint quality (Negated by ACF, though PFA is optional)) and the Mega 8KS is faster. But the resin pump is extra.

    You call the four point upgrade You know four points for leveling a plane that's actually a downgrade a plane if you're going to do points should be three points This is a downgrade from the ball and all can all say all y'all want but the ball mount is better

      @@FauxHammer My main point is is that certain people who make videos keep claiming certain things are better than other things and you're pushing manufacturers to do things really stupid things like oh let's cry about the whole s*** to box closed source board and so eligu releases this stupid .goo format which is a massive downgrade cuz you can't change things that you could before with the chitu box boards where you know you had your config file where you can Joe change things like your homing speed and your default values your maximum speeds you could make a printer either a slow down its homing which is really useful for things like rubber resin You could also make it scream by upping the maximum speeds but no everybody complained and now we got all these stupid boards out there that you can't adjust things on I've looked through the. Bin file and it's not really there maybe it is but I haven't been able to find it point is influencers and the community is causing problems more than they're causing solutions This is yet another one I will say with this printer though the ball system probably is not going to work it could but not logically but comments like this or what are causing good systems to go to the wayside because people don't know how to run a printer correctly
