So absolutely proud of your hard work. That must have taken months! Such a great example of the joy is the process as well as the result. Made a sub out of me. Cheers!
If there is a bar in this contest, you just raised it. That is an incredible amount of stamina to work through making that plane and a beautiful looking tool at the end also. Great work and hats off to you.
A very good hand made tool, just like I had to do many times during my 5 years apprenticeship, fortunately a dying trend these days, hands on apprenticeships, but you did a great job,and made a very good plane, well worth my 5 ☆ thumbs up
It looks like you went though a lot of trouble to make this plane. It is a one of a kind, showed a lot of skill with a lot of different hand tools. A hand held cut off tool would have been helpful, but you seemed to have worked around that. Good job.
You are one PATIENT dude. I watched the entire video because I was enthralled with it. What was you total time in building it? It look amazing. I have the attention of a piss ant, so I know I wouldn't be able to create such a thing of beauty. WELL DONE
un trabajo impresionante, teniendo en todo momento la idea y control de lo que se quiere realizar .felicidades. el amor por la carpinteria lleva a r cosas como estas
Considering the sole and plane body was made with just files, hacksaw, angle grinder and sander (well OK.. a tack weld or two) and peening, it pretty good really. I get a kick out of the parts @ super fast speed LOL!
That's a hell of a lot of work (hand work) but great job on it, not sure it's worth the effort for what it's capable to do, I'm pretty sure that any well tuned Stanley style, will outperform this plane with a lot less "elbow grease", but what's the fun in that? So, for all those who want to build an Infill, this is a good example. Thanks for sharing.
+ronin4711 The joy of making this and milling lumber with it will never be exceeded by anything money can buy. You are a complisulter. That is my opinion.
Katz-Moses Woodworking Shop I thought that a plane like that should be use for fine finishing work, not for milling, but that's me. As for opinions, as once Clint Eastwood said, "they are like buttholes, everyone has one"... If I knew how, I'd send you a sound Raspberry!, Consider a visual one...
You might want talk to folks at Sawmill Creek or other like forums about whether hand made infill can equal Stanley, Record, or Lie Nielsen before making such pronouncements.. Planemakers such as Holtey CAN and DO make infills that WILL perform as well as or outperform Lie Nielsen. holteyplanes dot com
enjoyed your vid ... you commented 'must be a faster way?', regarding the curved guide. Presuming no access to a plasma cutter? do you have a jigsaw?guessing its standard DIY kit. Also, you could save 60% to 70% of your time by forging down the legs of your compasses. There's loads of vids on here about how to make little gas forges. keep it up.
Joe Lyons I think you meant to comment on my compass video. Yes I agree that jigsaw would be a faster way, it's just that the small piece is difficult to hold for cutting and that is why I used a chisel. I have a forge but it is at my grandparents house and it's kind of a pain to set up so if I have small pieces like this it's faster for me just to file them. Thanks a lot for watching.
TitusLivy777 I'm using here a cheap stick welder (only 100 Amps) . I have a better stick welder at my grandfathers workshop (140 amps) but I bought this one for small work at home. It has actually served me quite well. In the future I would love to buy a MIG or TIG machine but it is currently way too expensive for me. Thanks a lot for watching.
This is a gift from above.
The same gift that dema, matt cremona and jay have.
Brilliant job.
Thank you for the video.
Good luck from Romania!
+Limbutu Cristian You've put me in great company. Thank you very much!

Make Crazydays Yep, it was quite exhausting at times. Thanks a lot for watching!
And you don't have a gazillions subscribers yet why!? I cannot even imagine I would attempt such a task. Quite amazing.
How didnt i find your channel sooner? Wow. That is an awesome plane that will last more than a lifetime.
Willem Kossen I'm still new to the youtube. Thank you very much!

Great work. I love the combination of wood and metal, so much understanding of the materials to put that together
Well done that is a wonderful build, you must be very proud of the plane. You have great patience and skills

+LUIS SANTIAGO Simon Thank you!
Beautiful build man, really impressive!
+Dutchhorse Thank you very much!
Most excellent! Unbelievable amount of patience you have! How hours you think you have in it? You should be very proud of yourself.
I'm not sure how many hours but it was made during the winter school break but I didn't work on it everyday or for long periods of time.
Beyond impressive, well done!
Phil

actually infill planes perform extremely well and I sure his does also
I'm pretty sure it's good but, don't believe it will outperform a well tuned Lie Nielsen plane, that is my opinion.

I bet you wish you could work as fast as in this video?…great build, beautiful result, well done 👍🏼😊
Excellent craftsmanship. You know how to use your tools. Any particular reasons for a handle split like that and making the sole in two pieces?
+geraldine audouin Makes it a lot stronger that way and I don't have to worry about it breaking.
That's impressive
+Dema's WoodShop Thanks a lot! Big fan of yours.
amazing work. Congratulations
dame fine work, well done!
two thums up ! amazing job, looks so cool !
Very well done
+738polarbear Thank you!
amazing!! I can't imagine how long it took you to made it.
+Alberto Martínez It took a long time because I wasn't working all the time on it but if you worked on it all the time it could be made in a week.

And on another note: damn you're fast!
Very nice!! I'd like to learn to weld. What kind of welder were you using? TIG, MIG, or ???. Thanks!

Garage workshop Thanks!
Yep. You win
James smith Thanks a lot.
Brass or bronze? Hard to tell with that lighting and on my phone. Gorgeous work.
Or is it steel and the lighting just makes it look yellow?
It is brass
well done a.k.a. holy shit. thanks for sharing. what did you use for the blade blank?
stephen ludwig Chainsaw bar. Thanks for watching.
delovalo mi je da si sa "nasih" prostora, po akcentu. Pozdrav i samo nastavi
p.s. Vidi da napravis neko jace svetlo u radionici ;)
+ddrnikola Da, definitivno mi treba neko jace svjetlo.
Holy cow that is awesome..... How much does that thing Weigh?... Spectacular build... Great job.
HANDCRAFTED CREATIVE It weighs 2.5kg or about 5.5lbs. Thanks a lot for watching.
Was that chalk that you put on the file?
good job
+el-amine Abboub Thank you!
Ausgezeichnet! How many hours do you think that took you?
+Doug Keen No really sure but I think it took about two weeks on and off to finish it.
how did you join the sole to the sides? did you use epoxy?
impressive!
bravo super
zakon
Jesus Christ...thats all im gonna say.....
