Nice clean review on a Nice small device🧐. I'm happy with my ipod classic 5.5g 80gb. The output is very relaxed and fun for long sessions 🙌😎. I'll stick with it for many more years just might have to replace the 🔋 when required 😉.
My one week old M0 pro started to turn off after 2min. of play. I checked the battery, sleep timer was off. I had to factory reset the unit to make it work. It also erased my Playlist. On some of my albums I get a copy of each track twice so an album with 16 tracks has 32. Some fellow said it is because of CUE file. I didn't make the CUE file Shanling OS did.
I need answers for this. I have owned a Shanling M0 Pro for less than a month now and even at full battery, it drains immediately in less than a day even in complete STANDBY. Does leaving it equipped with an IEM (while not playing music) still drain its battery?

I prefer the form factor of Q1 - if only the buttons were done better. I also love Q1s fullness and warmth although M0 Pro is more transparent and neutral.
I've had two for the last few years and the volume dial on BOTH has failed. Shanling refuses to fix or replace them and says for me to have the store where I bought them take care of it! Horse feathers!

So, I'm considering this to use as a PC Bluetooth transmitter for the LDAC, but that I can also take with me when I go out as a music player that I can also connect to the Car. I'm between this and the FiiO M5. I like that the M5 can be use on the wrist and have a clock. But prefer the M0 design. Having a volume wheel and that the mSD is covered. Unlike the FiiO M5. Honestly that exposed mSD piss me off. And having that wheel and button I really like. I would prefer if the wheel could also be use to go up and down on the menu. Maybe the wheel be up and down an push button to select if it had another button for back. I'm not fun of touch controls. Miss my old iPod with the wheel controls. Or my walkman that had like 10 buttons. Anyway, would it be safe to leave this connected to the PC whenever I'm home.
I'm happy with my purchase. However, my one criticism is the lack of a built in clip to attach like the iPod Shuffle. The plastic clip sold separately is garbage and does NOT have a spring for added grip strength. It's practically useless.

Honestly, I love them both. I prefer the larger screen on the AP80 Pro X and its 2.5mm balanced output makes it more versatile (I'm not paying extra for the M0 adapter). But the ap80 pro x battery seems to drains pretty fast, especially using balanced output. If I'm running or working out, the M0 size is great (but why don't they include a clip case wtf).
And another question that might seem obvious, but I wanna double check before considering to buy. So, if I have all my music downloaded on a MP3 format on my PC, i do can transfer it straight to the device can´t I?, thank u very much

Both have pros and cons. M0 Pro is smaller and has a little more consistent battery life. AP80 Pro X has the larger screen so is better in UI plus it has extensive EQ capabilities. One other benefit of AP80 Pro X is it has balanced output without the need of an adapter.

You can download FLAC music and albums from Bandcamp. You can copy 1 terabyte of Hi-Res music on memory card. You can stream Apple music but only in AAC.
My Shanling M0 Pro freezes. Switching on usually succeeds on the 3rd or 4th attempt. Exceptionally for the 1st attempt. I tried waiting, but after 15 minutes I gave up. I have tried various advice and recommendations. Unfortunately, it looks like a defective piece. I am dealing with it in the complaint procedure. When I can turn the player on, the sound is great! I believe that we will solve the complaint with the seller and I will enjoy great sound! P.S: Has the player frozen for anyone?
@@PrimeAudioReviews The card is formatted. Freezing occurs with or without a card. Unfortunately, it was the same even before formatting. The first day of using the M0 Pro was excellent. The SD wasn't even formatted. Another two days after that, this big problem started. When the player is working, it's really great, but it has to work : )) Factory reset also tried according to the seller's instructions. The software in the device is said to be up to date. Thanks for the response :)

I only get 9.5 hrs of battery using my 3.5 mm Tin HiFi T2 IEM's. Is that normal for a brand new M0 Pro? I've only charged it twice so far. I'll report how long it lasts after a third time charge. Hopefully I can get at least 10 hrs this time before it runs completely out of battery power.
I'm happy with 9.5 hrs but why in the world does Shanling say 14.5? If they would have said 9.5 hrs I still would have bought it anyway. I'm buying the 4.4 adapter and the Myer Audio CKLVX D41 with a 4.4 balanced cable in about 2 weeks. I'll let everyone know how many hrs of battery life using the 4.4 balanced IEM's.

Spotify doesn't have a hi-res service. Qobuz and Tidal do. If you want to download hi-res albums locally, id recommend checking out Bandcamp. You can download Flac files.
Just rec'd this item. I was looking for something this size for the gym- - but the VOLUME stinks. Cranked it up to MAX (10 ) and it's low even in a quiet surrounding. Unless I am missing something on the settings, this sucks if want something fairly loud.

I much Prefer the M0 Original design, its bulletproof, smaller, lighter, & better constructed to my eyes than the pro..and waaaay cheaper it cost 90€ to 150€ with taxes for this one in Europe also I don't need extra dongles or adaptors.. If I need a balanced output I have already the R3pro.. and it has a clip!.. No need for ridiculous expensive leatherette covers.. Also Software and soundwise it's pretty much the same so if I was in the market for a new one I would grab the better priced hands down.!
The market has been moving away from these small, cheaper DAPs and I am guessing its because every brand is pushing their dongle dacs. I have a BTR5 and I had it since launch but if my BTR5 was a standalone audio player aswell it would be so much better, and the M0 Pro is just that. And cheaper. I am really considering this, my lossless library can fit on a 1TB card with room to spare so this would be really nice for taking my entire library with me aswell. I have read that it lasts 6-8 hours which might be a dealbreaker but I always carry a powerbank in my backpack so this isnt an issue for me.
@@PrimeAudioReviews not responsive screen many times,bluetooth sound is not stable lot of breaks,and some areas of screen you cant press the buttons of some menus,you cant delete playlists because the buttons on screen doesnt work, custom EQ is very difficult to setup too...and when you press the right of the screen in some menus it pressed the left area without any reason...so lot OF BUGS.

Leaving an iem plugged in while not playing does not affect the battery. But if you have Bluetooth turned on the battery drains faster.

That kinda sucks. I've been using my up4 almost every day for over a year and the wheel is still perfect. I did have some issues with my m5s though.

I wish I could tell you. I only have Sony NW-300ZX and I can tell you that's the DAP I took to Canjam 2023 because its battery life is unmatched.

It's certainly more versatile. It sounds better than the UP4/5 when wired and comparable when using Bluetooth. It's pretty amazing value overall.

The original does NOT have balanced out. That's a deal breaker for me. Moreover, I got my Pro for $100 US. So far so good.

The market has been moving away from these small, cheaper DAPs and I am guessing its because every brand is pushing their dongle dacs.
I have a BTR5 and I had it since launch but if my BTR5 was a standalone audio player aswell it would be so much better, and the M0 Pro is just that. And cheaper.
I am really considering this, my lossless library can fit on a 1TB card with room to spare so this would be really nice for taking my entire library with me aswell.
I have read that it lasts 6-8 hours which might be a dealbreaker but I always carry a powerbank in my backpack so this isnt an issue for me.

If you buy the OG M0, there are wristband made for them. I saw it in online platform.
The sound is great, but the battery life is terrible especially if you're using BT.

Weird to hear you say that. I bought the Pro to replace my iPod Shuffle. The Pro has waaaay more battery life.

@@PrimeAudioReviews not responsive screen many times,bluetooth sound is not stable lot of breaks,and some areas of screen you cant press the buttons of some menus,you cant delete playlists because the buttons on screen doesnt work, custom EQ is very difficult to setup too...and when you press the right of the screen in some menus it pressed the left area without any reason...so lot OF BUGS.
Mine works great. Sounds like yours is not working though.
