We don’t tell anyone where we are fishing. Only way people know where we are at is if they have already been there themselves. I’ve fished this creek forever and it’s always been a madhouse Haha

YOUR spot? 😂😂😂Whatever, Dude. When I moved here 2 years ago I found that spot just from driving around the lake looking for bank spots. There’s so many cars parked there that it’s not real hard to figure out that it’s a hot spot. If you’re not in this area you would NEVER find it. Try harder. The lake is full of crappie.

@@rickpilgrim6773 haha! Yeah my grandparents used to drop me off there and leave me all day when I was 10-11 years old. Every year is always different there. It’s been pretty consistent this year though with decent quality. When I was a senior in high school my buddy Tyger and I skipped so many days and got in trouble because it was nonstop action 12-15” fish haha that was a good year

I have used mustard older than that and never had a problem. As long as other foods or contaminants haven't gotten in tbe bottle you are fine. Like it was stated in an earlier post the vinegar is a great antibacterial agent. I have had gray poupon go bad but it has wine in it. Have you ever tried dipping your fillets in dill pickle juice and then breading them. Fantastic is all I can say. I save all my left over doll pickle juice. I mix it half and half with apple juice and it makes a fantastic basting sauce while smoking ribs.

Cole, mustard rarely ever goes bad unless exposed to the air constantly! I’ve never been able to taste it on anything I use it on and as an avid meat smoker I use it a lot to hold my rub and take on the smoke…..so don’t worry, we’ll be seeing you on your next video…..lol

Definitely would like to try that recipe, of course with a fresh bottle.
    But looked really good 👍
They're a little bit pricey, but I've noticed you eat as much fried fish as I do and I know how much peanut oil you have to use in order to do so. So you might want to look into buying a bayou classic two basket fryer. The whole thing with this fryer is that it let's all the seasoning and flour that break's away from the fish fall below the heating source and that allows you to keep your peanut oil clean and it will last 6 months before having to be changed. Trust me it's a game changer, you won't believe how much healthier and less grease is in your food when your fryer can easily maintain 375 and never drop temperature once the fish goes in, or if you're having frozen crinkle fries or hush puppies with it. Where as when I had that same exact fryer and was checking it with a digital food grade thermometer it couldn't even keep 300° much less 375°. Hope you'll at least check em out.

As long as you are careful, it's not a terrible way to cross a creek. Sometimes that's the best way to get to a great fishing spot.

Cole, I grew up with a creek in my backyard that barely had any trout in it mostly crawdads turtles, frogs, and I lived in that creek in the summertime, and I actually played in the creek in the winter time when it was frozen. But we never finished in the creek because the fish are so small. We didn’t think it was worth it. We had a place at Smith mountain lake that we would go to with our families every summer and we were definitely fish there. The most ever cat was a really good size sunfish off the dock and a catfish which I don’t eat catfish don’t like catfish but I would like to try, a slab one day! I hope that’ll happen. Enjoy your day.

I have called the manufacturer of many products I use. I encourage everyone to do the same when they have a purchased a 'sell by' date product that has long expired. I have never been told (by the manufacturer) to throw out a product based on that date. Even after 4 yrs. There are signs the product could be bad, and every manufacturer detailed those during our conversations. Good eats everyone.

As quoted from the French's Mustard website: "Because regular mustard won’t actually spoil [it's vinegar based], many brands label their bottles with a “Best By” date rather than an “Expiration Date.” What’s the difference? Well, an expiration date indicates the point at which ingredients will begin to go bad, potentially even posing a health risk to those who consume the product. But a “Best By” date simply gives you a sense of when the flavor and fresh taste will begin to decline."

If anybody like Malt Vinegar on there fish and haven't tried using mustard, try it at least once instead. A real thin layer acts as a binding agent for the breading your using. If you add more mustard than just wetting the filets it gives it a tangy vinegar flavor. Very similar to M Vinegar, after all vinegar is the main ingredient in mustard. If I use mustard I hardly ever use M Vinegar. I'm not a real big mustard fan, only use it for Corn dogs myself and I don't find it mustard tasting on fish, more of a tangy vinegar flavor. Some people say they only use Mustard on the fishy tasting fish. But if you like vinegar on fish like myself, than you atta try it at least once. If your using batter instead of breading, you probably should stick to the M. Vinegar.

I have no idea what happens with the mustard, you don't really taste it as mustard, but it makes a great crust on the fish and the flavor is great, but again it does not really taste like mustard. Try some sweet hot mustard for a change. As for the date, it is a best by date not an expiration date. There is not much to go bad with mustard. It is full of vinegar.

I don't use stringers anymore man. I don't really keep fish either. Go feed him much but last time I had my fish on the stringer I was going to bring them home. Turtle got a hold of them and it won't tell you what happened to that turtle

Mustard is A vinegar product… nothing to be concerned with.

ACC Crappie Stix 6’6”Medium is my go to. I was using the 7’6” here for a little bit of extra casting distance. I’ve been using the daiwa regal 1000 size reel!
