That date on the mustard bottle is a " use by " date ! Mustard doesn't really go bad so much as dry out ! I have 4 different types of mustard, and they have all passed the use by date and still taste delicious ! 😋
Well, I loved the balancing act on the log. I would have probably fallen in, great video as always and don’t worry about the mustard. Mayonnaise is the one you want to through away. Didn’t see Jay, hope she’s ok, tell her I missed seeing her and baby C. I enjoy watching you eat those fish, makes me hungry every time. Keep them coming, your friend in Christ, Wallace.
Fish is good anytime I even have it for breakfast after going and catching some that morning. It's really good on fish, chicken and frog legs to 💯💯💯💯👍🏽
Definitely would like to try that recipe, of course with a fresh bottle. But looked really good 👍 They're a little bit pricey, but I've noticed you eat as much fried fish as I do and I know how much peanut oil you have to use in order to do so. So you might want to look into buying a bayou classic two basket fryer. The whole thing with this fryer is that it let's all the seasoning and flour that break's away from the fish fall below the heating source and that allows you to keep your peanut oil clean and it will last 6 months before having to be changed. Trust me it's a game changer, you won't believe how much healthier and less grease is in your food when your fryer can easily maintain 375 and never drop temperature once the fish goes in, or if you're having frozen crinkle fries or hush puppies with it. Where as when I had that same exact fryer and was checking it with a digital food grade thermometer it couldn't even keep 300° much less 375°. Hope you'll at least check em out.
I’ll have to check it out, it sounds like the real deal! We eat a ton of fish, a lot of times twice a day, but probably only fry it once a week. I love searing it with some slap ya mama in the skillet!

Use the mustard until it is empty.... I have survived 73 years and almost never worry about expiration dates.... unless there obvious signs of spoilage...
Mix mustard and picante sauce dip the fish into it and the use your favorite batter. The mustard keeps the fish moist inside and crispy outside picante sauce gives it a kuck.
With vinegar in mustard don't think you have to worry much about it. Also expiration dates cans be way off either side of the date and some products required because of the FDA but don't really have a expiration date.
The mustard rub is delicious but even better than that is a horseradish rub. Gives an even better kick and ups the flavor. As far as the log as a bridge, I have definitely used sketchier. As long as you are careful, it's not a terrible way to cross a creek. Sometimes that's the best way to get to a great fishing spot.
Mustard will last along time, as you keep it closed. Air is what makes mustard go bad. It great on ribs to while you are cooking them. Just add barque sauce to it close to the end of cooking. Or just add barque sauce after they are cook. God bless you and your whole family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀

Cole, I grew up with a creek in my backyard that barely had any trout in it mostly crawdads turtles, frogs, and I lived in that creek in the summertime, and I actually played in the creek in the winter time when it was frozen. But we never finished in the creek because the fish are so small. We didn’t think it was worth it. We had a place at Smith mountain lake that we would go to with our families every summer and we were definitely fish there. The most ever cat was a really good size sunfish off the dock and a catfish which I don’t eat catfish don’t like catfish but I would like to try, a slab one day! I hope that’ll happen. Enjoy your day.
I have called the manufacturer of many products I use. I encourage everyone to do the same when they have a purchased a 'sell by' date product that has long expired. I have never been told (by the manufacturer) to throw out a product based on that date. Even after 4 yrs. There are signs the product could be bad, and every manufacturer detailed those during our conversations. Good eats everyone.
As quoted from the French's Mustard website: "Because regular mustard won’t actually spoil [it's vinegar based], many brands label their bottles with a “Best By” date rather than an “Expiration Date.” What’s the difference? Well, an expiration date indicates the point at which ingredients will begin to go bad, potentially even posing a health risk to those who consume the product. But a “Best By” date simply gives you a sense of when the flavor and fresh taste will begin to decline."
Take it from an old chef Cole that mustard it'll last for eternity because of the vinegar in it that this doesn't go bad I've had this mustard 5 years old.
If anybody like Malt Vinegar on there fish and haven't tried using mustard, try it at least once instead. A real thin layer acts as a binding agent for the breading your using. If you add more mustard than just wetting the filets it gives it a tangy vinegar flavor. Very similar to M Vinegar, after all vinegar is the main ingredient in mustard. If I use mustard I hardly ever use M Vinegar. I'm not a real big mustard fan, only use it for Corn dogs myself and I don't find it mustard tasting on fish, more of a tangy vinegar flavor. Some people say they only use Mustard on the fishy tasting fish. But if you like vinegar on fish like myself, than you atta try it at least once. If your using batter instead of breading, you probably should stick to the M. Vinegar.
In the near future...you should take a subscribers tip and apply to your fishing adventure. We learn so much from yourself & Jay, so now allow Cole & Jay Nation to inspire you and maybe even add a new effective method to your slaying arsenal.
