The Shiseido Ultimune : second ingredient is ALCOHOL DENAT. which stands for denature, also know as SD 40 or rubbing alcohol. I wish you would get more into the ingredients in each serum rather than how it goes on your skin. Sisheido is well known for its high end ingredients and proven results
I've been using the Effaclar Pore Refining / Anti Wrinkle serum and have had noticeable results. I recommend giving it a try but the only thing is it's easy to over use because it absorbs so quickly into the skin. (If I've used too much, my skin stings when I put on other products.) Start with a couple drops daily to get to know what your skin will tolerate. Otherwise, the serum isn't sticky and works well under makeup too.

Thank you so much for the reviews. I had a question...I am 31 now and really don't know if i have any sign of ageing..my skin is oily and breaks out.. my skin feels very dull and i would like to incorporate an anti ageing serum in my skin care routine which should take care of dullness and early sign of ageing without irritating my skin and causing breakouts. but i am completely clueless about which one to opt for.. would like your suggestions.. please recommend..
+Sonali DebRoy thanks for your question! The Advanced Night Repair Serum is really lightweight and absorbs fast, so it should be complimentary to oily skin. It also helps with dullness & keeping the fine lines/wrinkles at bay (usually the most obvious signs of aging). Also, don't forget to exfoliate to remove any dead skin cells to allow the serum to penetrate & also exfoliation helps with dullness too. :) hope that helps!
+KARYFLAGS Hey.. Its like two weeks i have started using the product though i got it a month back but must tell you that my skin did not break out after the application which normally does. let me just use it for two three weeks more and i will post the updates...:)

The Ultimune ISNT a serum. it's a power-infusing concentrate/strengthener which is to be followed by the rest of your serums/skincare.. Please do your research before you put information out like that.
+Jodilynn Liscio Hi Jodilynn, since you're in your early twenties, I would actually recommend more anti-oxidant, Vitamin C and E serums since you probably don't see signs of aging yet (fine lines, etc.). Here's one of our blog posts that highlights a few recommendations - blog.lookmazing.com/2015/09/15/find-right-serum-age/ :)

Hi Doris, have you ever been through an acne phase? If so, can you recommend some good Korean products? I realized that those are way more gentle on my skin.
+Jennie Luu I did go through an acne phase! At that time, korean beauty products were not popular yet, so I didn't use any while I had acne. In terms of serums, my fav. korean ones are: Innisfree Green Tea Serum (lmz.co/4cxiDJ) and It's Skin Power 10 w/ Vitamin C that is great for treating hyper-pigmentation (both are very light & hopefully won't irritate acne skin, but I would spot test to make sure). Hope that helps and let me know if you have any additional ques! :)
Is Lancôme genifique advanced youth activating concentrate good for combination and somewhat acne prone skin? I have a bottle and I’m not sure if causes a couple of bumps on my face or if I breakout because of the fact that I use it with Estée Lauder advanced night repair lol I’m newly 27 yrs since oct and my grandmother has used these forever and looks absolutely amazing for being in her mid 80’s!!!!
Zakiya Khan Sumona, toner is for after cleansing then you apply serum followed by night or day cream. In the summer I only use serum and sunscreen to avoid breakouts. Everyone is different. Also stopped using toner because it was too drying for my skin. Good luck finding what works for you.
+Shasha Elias since you are still young, it's not necessary to use a serum if you're not experiencing any issues with your skin. If your moisturizer is doing a great job at hydrating your skin, you can just stick with that!

20s!!! Skincare doesn't preform miracles. It is meant to be preventative. If you wait to use it until you are seeing skin issues, it's not going to make much difference. You should begin a consistent skincare routine at age 16. And extend the steps 18+.
I decided ur never too young to start to use any anti- aging! I used the regenerist serum in my 20's.That is when I supported p&g I refuse to support them anymore! They're a douchebag company!!
Oily skin needs moisturizer more than anything else. You are oily because your skin is lacking in oil. Therefore causing the sebum over production. If you use more of the proper moisturizer it will in turn produce less oil.
thanks so much for sharing, doris! had a question - was thinking of buying my mom one of these serums (she's in her early 60s) but has fairly sensitive skin and rosacea. which would you recommend? thank you!
+Maharlika del Rosario thanks so much for your ques! based on other reviews as well, the Lancome & Estee Lauder ones received positive reviews from ladies in their late fifties & early 60's. Since she does have sensitive skin & rosacea, serums will tend to penetrate more easily & are more likely to cause irritation if they are too strong. Best to have her sample it first to make sure it is ok :)
Wish someone with real scientific knowledge will give reviews. This Does not explain how they work over time or what the scientific ingredients actually do.
+Douglas Price - An oil is typically used to add additional moisture/nutrition to the skin, while a serum may/may not include oils for its moisturizing properties, but it'll also include additional ingredients targeted to treat other needs (i.e. wrinkles, dark spots etc.). If you have dry skin, you can use both and mix the oil into your serum or moisturizer. Sometimes you can find serums that already include an oil in it, so you don't need to add an additional oil. I really like serums with argan oil! hope that helps! ;)
You are so right, rubbing alcohol & fragrance in skin care. Most cosmetic manufacturers are only interested in $$$. Skin care has to be based on scientific research, not by feeling.
not all of them. I'm using Shiseido and it's actually the best product for which I could decide. The Ultimune's research has taken 20 years till they have come with this on a market. It repairs the Langerhan cells and the most important thing is, that it's generally first product for the immunity of the face ! none of them are comparable to Shiseido's Ultimune. My opinion is that rather the other ones are interested in $$$ :)

Ladies!! These big brands spent most of the consumers' money on marketing rather than spending it on using good quality ingredients or research. To be honest - using natural oils such as Marula oil + Rosehip oil would be 10X more effective! Very useful info here:sowourplanet.com/marula-oil-vs-rosehip-oil/
which one will you recommend for oily skin ?
+Princess Becerra The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum is really lightweight and absorbs fast, so it should be complimentary to oily skin :)
I use estee lauder its effective for me
at what age need serum?
Hedesa Hoveidy early 30s
Hi... have you tried guerlain double serum?
What happens if you use only serums, and no moisturizer after, every morning and evening?
I find it comfortable, my skeen looks moistured
I am 50+. What is the difference in serums and oiIs and do I need both.?
+Douglas Price - An oil is typically used to add additional moisture/nutrition to the skin, while a serum may/may not include oils for its moisturizing properties, but it'll also include additional ingredients targeted to treat other needs (i.e. wrinkles, dark spots etc.). If you have dry skin, you can use both and mix the oil into your serum or moisturizer. Sometimes you can find serums that already include an oil in it, so you don't need to add an additional oil. I really like serums with argan oil! hope that helps! ;)
are these products animal free tested?

You are so right, rubbing alcohol & fragrance in skin care. Most cosmetic manufacturers are only interested in $$$.
Skin care has to be based on scientific research, not by feeling.
not all of them. I'm using Shiseido and it's actually the best product for which I could decide. The Ultimune's research has taken 20 years till they have come with this on a market. It repairs the Langerhan cells and the most important thing is, that it's generally first product for the immunity of the face ! none of them are comparable to Shiseido's Ultimune. My opinion is that rather the other ones are interested in $$$ :)
the few good ingredients are in very low concentrations, it has more preservatives, fragrance, and alcohol. Shiseido needs to up their game
Koreans are really flashy. They will splurge even if they become broke. I have 3 Koreans clients who did not pay off their loan with the bank.
eco belle oh my!
It's all about outward appearances in South Korea. They will do anything to look rich even if they're broke.
What a horrible comment to write shocked
