If I would look at them without knowing anything about watches I'd say the Steinhart is the better proportioned, better looking watch.
Great comparison.
I swear so many people call a Steinhart a "one-to-one copy" of a Rolex sub have never seen the two side by side.
Compared the two myself, they do look different. I like a couple things from the rolex more but also a couple things from the steinhart
It looks like the Steinhart watch is the winner here.
2 Steinharts...and I’ll be grabbing a 3rd. Not for the price for the QUALITY.
ive had the steinhart ocean 39 for over 5 years and its a fantastic watch, never had any issues
Bracelets is not so flashy, what a pity.
Is it possible to change the bracelet?
@@viplivesmatter Yup you can change out the bracelet on the steinhart pretty easy. I have both a rolex sub that I wear on special occasions and a steinhart I wear as a daily watch.
2 months ago I got a Steinhart 39 Ocean blue ceramic. So excellent finish and quality. Yes, it's pretty small on my 17cm/6,7 inch wrist.
I would like 42mm version but Steinhart's 50mm straight lug to lug distance will likely be too much.
If you read this. than GO for the steinhart. The rolex prices is absurd. Its NOT worth for what you get! Sure in a few years you can sell it for more money.. but what does that mean emotionatly? Nothing. I had 6 rolex models. They all got boring. I own a steinheart ocean one. And get the same joy out of it.
Thanks for review!
I think we can conclude: you get what you pay for, is valid when it comes to Steinhart. And while Rolex is better, you pay far more than what you get.
And while I am very interested in Steinhart 39mm "Pepsi"-version I wonder if such a watch makes too much attention in some places. At 1 or 2 meters distance it looks like a Rolex, and a black version is more discrete, I think.
Thank you!! i am glad i finally found a video with this watch next to the Rolex. They do look very similar in my opinion but that's not a bad thing. I replace the Ceramic bezel on my Steinhart to a aluminum one and the watch Looks hell of a lot better in my opinion it does not look anything like the newer Rolex sub, it looks more like the older vintage ones due to the case not being as wide and i love it!
An 8/10 watch vs a 10/10 watch. Clearly Rolex shell’s out 100,000,000 per year in marketing. So we all fall victim to brain washing. But Steinheart is an amazing micro brand.
The Glashütte SeaQ is so much better than a "10/10" Rolex Submariner.
I have the Steinhart. I really like the polished edges of the bezel on the Steinhart. And not forgetting the slimmer lugs. Hate the maxi lugs of the Rolex.
did they update the bezel of the steinhart? because i saw some reviews of this watch it has "ghost bezel"
Hey nice review buddy, I love my steiny gmt pepsi.
What’s the differences between steinhart ceramic bezel vs aluminium bezel especially in terms of visual/look ? Thanks !
Great review/comparison. I have the 42mm version of the Steinhart which I prefer to the 39 but I think it's good to have the choice. It also has metallic numbering on the bezel like the Rolex.
I prefer the Steinhart lugs - the cyclops is adequate but nowhere near as good as the Rolex.
Nice, I got the Ocean One 39 Hulk
I recently purchased the Steinhart Ocean One vintage Military Diver (I think that was the name) while waiting for my number to come up on the Rolex "registry" for the basic no-date version (as pictured). The AD is vague about delivery date, but says 1 to 2 years, maybe. The Steinhart is a 42 and no date (which I like). I have to say this is about my favorite watch now and I'm really wondering if I should spend $9K plus tax on the Rolex.
I have a Steinhart ocean one vintage 42 mm i love it. was nice to see the two side by side
I don't own any of the 2, but the Steinhart looks nicer.
Salve Michele, secondo lei la differenza di qualità tra i due si sente molto?
Ocean is the older case body. I prefer the newer rolex case with beefier lugs.
Which Rolex reference? Thanks.
How is the bezel on that Steinhart? Is it stiff? Does it have a lot of wiggle?
No wiggle, but mine is rather stiff... Difficult to rotate, but that's not a problem for me... At least it stays in place that way...
add a drop of boca bearings high speed oil to the side of the case where the bezel gap, it will make it turn like butter...smooth and quieter. Or any synthetic or high quality mineral bearing oil.
Pound for pound the steinheart more value for money.
The Crystal is far more reflective on the steiny, despite the double ar coating. There’s definitely a better quality Crystal used on the Rolex
At lease the Rolex does not leak water, my Steinhart ocean one has…….😮
Avendo posseduti entrambi, la differenza a polso fa la corona. Sullo Steinhart infatti è molto più sporgente e si scavava nel dorso della mano.
The Tudor is missing here 😉
Watch snubs probably fell on the floor with the Rolex next to a simple man's watch...lol
is this rolex a replica?
@@korenglik4634 its a replica 100%, look at the numbers on the bezel, way too dark
Lo Steinhart é un homage al vecchio sub... non al nuovo...
The STEINHART is much better❤
Value for money steinhart wins all day long .
steinhart is almost better
I think the quality of look and feel overall the steinhart falls short ..lot of people say the look and feel is almost same. I don't agree.
no one says it's the same. I have 3 steinharts, it's not close to a rolex, but it is a damn good watch for only $600 USD and beats every other watch in this price category. It is nearly impossible to find another watch at 39mm or smaller with a SW200 or even SW330. Except maybe C60 38mm. But my CW is still better quality than steinhart. Even NTH is a little better in case finishing. Zelos is good too. But a Ginault or Monta would blow away the Steinhart.
@@Dochorahan oh yes I agree w you on ginault and monta and cw ..don't know much about zelos but heard good things
Have you ever looked at gevril? They have a few divers (I own 3 of them they're that good) they can be had for 500 and I believe are on the level of a 1500-2000 dollar diver in fit and finish quality.
This sub looks shady :)
Very easy to say that but can you give a reason why or are you just pretending to know what you're talking about?
If it's a replica, it's a really good ZZF or a Noob. I can't spot anything, but my only skill in noticing things comes from YT video watch geeks :)
Bezel engraving way too dark also sel gap.. just look the bezel number how dark thay are compares to steiny - they should have been platinum
@@martinkosicek1224 I think I read that to the trained eye, the lack of platinum fill it a tell. For
Ferrari VS Wheelbarrow
This is like comparing a VW Golf with a Porsche 911 Turbo
No, not really. Actually its like comparing an Audi A4 with a BWM 7, but the A4 only costing as much as a Polo.
@@MrVaeron
The craftsmanship that goes into a Rolex is light years away from Steinhart.
Don't believe the hype that the cost is marketing, you are paying for true quality.
That Rolex is a fake.
I wish rolex would just sue Steinhart. No creativity amongst brands anymore. Hardly anyone comes with creative/new ideas or designs now.
Bad comparison no date magnification comparison on the sapphire crystal. Nope not good enough. Sorry! Disliked video.
I have to admit Rolex has made a decent homage to Steinhart
🤣🤣🤣
