This song is incredible as originally recorded. Having an entire Orchestra playing as backup makes it sound even more incredible. Who said an orchestra wouldn’t mix with metal?
This must’ve been a nightmare to mix and sound check, but on this end, it’s an excellent mix! The orchestral parts come through very well, and the strings really offset the heavy distortion of the rhythm guitar parts. Sounds very nice.

I'm pissed off because I had this particular track downloaded on a blank cd along with other Metallica classics (The Memory Remains, Until It Sleeps the lot) and some dickhead stole it from me. I was drunk one night and invited a whole load of people to my gaf and it must have happened then. I will never make the same mistake again!
Many of the new kids today would struggle to utilise fusion in a manner such as this. Too much “music” of the modern day is created with computers. Whilst they could dial in the correct timing and pitch, it’s not like producing your own live notes.
Love how they still make use of the upright bass as they have an electric bassist. Im not mad, I just find that pretty cool that they make use of more than one bass.
