No matter how many people beg, no matter how many DMs you get pleasing, NEVER TURN THEM ON. They are exclusively for a second-watch and contain their own set of jokes and references that take away from the on-screen jokes. You WILL miss things on screen because you're too busy reading the subtitles. Even TeamFourStar themselves say to only use them on a repeat watch through. NEVER on a first time going through. It's basically the equivalent of having that one guy who sits next to you, cracking jokes related to whats going on on screen, but in text form.
Frankly, I've never even understood why people would want them on repeat viewings. A large number of the jokes fall flat and feel really forced, for me anyway, and there are a lot of subtle visual gags in the show that are easy to miss on the first one or two viewings anyway, so it's not like there isn't anything new. Show is perfectly good without the commentary from the peanut gallery.
freeza cannot control his own power because he never trains. he was just born like that. his first three forms are artificial limiters so he can interact with the world without breaking everyone and everything whenever he loses focus. his 4th transformation, what he looks like now, is his real natural form. The specifics of how he managed this and why each form looks like it does are left pretty vague. but based on what he says about his new form in Resurrection F/Dragon Ball Super, it seems like he has a choice in how they look (" I know all this gold on me is a bit gauche but I wanted to ensure you got the message of my superiority"). so i would guess the second and third forms are big and scary because when he pulls them out he wants to intimidate people, while his first form is close to his actual size because he uses that for day to day things. that way everything can be at the proportions he is used to.
To answer the question asked about 6 minutes in the real reason is Freiza's Final form is small is because it's supposed to look like a Japanese Real estate speculator which was Toriama's thought of and quote "The worst kind of people" so wanted what his thought of what was the final villain of dragonball (he had planned it to end after this) to be the worst one and thought of the worst kind of people and a bigger man such as Frieza's Third form wouldn't fit the look. 💀
To add to this! Final Form Freeza also looks small because the whole point is to create a giant contrast. For an alien overlord to turn increasingly more muscular and freakish only to move back down to a small, gentle-looking dude is horrifying because there is no way he's _not_ stronger than everything that came before. This is a fully realized version of what happened with Vegeta and Nappa: Nappa's the big tough guy and Vegeta's the smaller one, but it's Vegeta who's by far the most dangerous of the two.
Interesting thing about Freeza is that his transformations actually weaken him. His "final form" is just him not using transformations to supress himself. He does that because he can't control his full power 24/7
I assume that the series would work best based on how it was released. That would make sense with how they wrote their running gags so consistently. Regardless, following a playlist will help. Also always feel free to pause, rewind, chat, etc. We like hearing your input about each scene!

Freeza's final form is his original form. Freeza race do not transform to gain power, they transform to control their power. Let's consider that Ginyu force is the most powerful warriors in all universe that can effortlessly conquer planets by their lonesome - and Freeza surprssing his power with 4 different forms is still so much stronger than them they wouldn't be able to lay a finger on him
when a saiyan gets stronger near death its called a zenkai boost, goku accidently abused it training in 100x gravity making him as strong as he was before landing on namik basically he cheated lol
The subtitles are best as a new game+ imo... they are funny, but they distract from what's on screen. Like they are great second time watching, not first. I do love the reactiins by the by!
I don't know why people keep recommending Canadian subtitles in 2024. They are terrible and cringe. They make the same joke all the time and reference future jokes that haven't even happened yet.
Honestly I agree with you on the subtitles But if I knew you already knew everything about dragon Ball z and all that then I would definitely recommend the subtitles The Canadian subtitles are absolutely hilarious but some of the jokes you wouldn't really understand unless you knew everything about dragon Ball z plus it's really distracting but it's still funny LOL so maybe if you ever rewatch dragon Ball abridged you might want to add them
