    I think adding Otto is going help alot I think that's going give up a starting 5 plus a bench that we can trust

    New depth will help them manage injuries and that will be huge. Koloko fits really well and is ready to play minutes. He is quick and accurate around the rim both O and D and doesn't seem to be a foul acquisition liability

    I think that the major issue with a Durant trade is that, because he has four years remaining on his contract, the Nets are assessing the asset as being "four years of a 1st Team All-NBA level player" and expecting a return in line with that. To my mind his actual value is more like "two years and maybe some change" of that elite player (and maybe healthy for an important postseason run, maybe not) at best. The combination of his age (Father Time is undefeated, as they say) and his injury history makes expecting four years of elite level production from him unwise at this point.
    If you can get him at his actual likely value to the team or at a slight discount from that then it could be worth it, but if they want the kind of return that four years of "number one guy on a championship team" merits then you just have to move on. I also think that Brooklyn is correct to ask for that kind of return because I think some team might eventually give it to them (if it doesn't work out in Brooklyn), but I don't think that team should be the Raptors.

    • @Kormans
      @Kormans  2 роки тому

      It sounds like the Nets expect full market value. No team is biting- for reasons including those that you stated. It looks like the Nets have made their bed and must now lie in it. May be a long year in Brooklyn.

      @@Kormans I agree with you except on a couple of points.
      1) You only said that it MAY be a long year in Brooklyn (I know that you weren't saying it necessarily WILL be), but I think there's a pretty high likelihood that this whole situation works out well for the Nets. Obviously, they have a higher chance of imploding then other teams, but they also have a ton of high end talent. If they can squeeze a healthy, productive year out of that roster they are absolutely contenders to make or even to win the finals. Winning fixes a lot of these problems and the disfunction from this past offseason might well feel like a bad dream that they have long since woken up from and shaken off several months down the road.
      2) No team is biting YET. If things do go South in Brooklyn then I think they might be able to extract some dead contracts, a couple of good prospects and a boatload of picks from somebody. Teams (and front office members who want to keep their job) get desperate. This stuff is all highly unpredictable. Part of why the Raptors are in a position to exercise correct patience is because the people in their front office and coaching staff have such great job security and deservedly so.

      @@thehomienicked8208 Hear what you are saying completely. And of course, things could work out. But between Simmons and Irving- smart money is on friction. Nets would be a scary great time if all comes together. That is a huge IF. I'm liking the Heat, Celtics, even 76'ers as examples of more sure bets this year in the East.

    I agree that the raptors Can't win a title. You have Pascal who can average 25 Fred can average 22 Gary can average 20 OG can average 20 Scotty Barnes can average 20 this year . That's a 127 points in the starting lineup. Now the bench. Bouche Or can average 10 Precious should average 15 otto should average 10 to 12 and Thad should average 10. Add it all up and you got 172 and they are not a title contenders really wow

    • @MagnetiKKnawledge
      @MagnetiKKnawledge 2 роки тому +1

      Bro I love your enthusiasm an agree but I'd say starters now have a bench so they will rest a bit more. So maybe 2 ppg less each, maybe not. Your math is off though with the starters it's 107 with your predictions not 127. An yes agree with the bench. So maybe around 135 would be a great night. Not everyone is gonna have that each night. But as far as averages that's insane. An a championship team 💯

      @@Kormans Raptors were two possessions away from making the conference finals without Kwahi'.
      Also, we can never really estimate how much factor it was not running LeBron.
      Kwahi's main contribution was offence tough buckets. Gasol had a even bigger role stopping Embid and Giannis. Siakam cooked Draymond in finals. FVV shot exceptionally and defended Curry.
      It was all Kwahi' is just a stupid narrative for the media type. Kwahi' had similar playoff numbers with Clippers as he did with Raptors. The difference was supporting cast, coaching and culture.

    He says he heard it on the way down to the Pod so no beef for not hearing something correctly but a few things about the durability. 1: its not 41 games, the correct number is 49 and 5/8 so basically 50 games (he straight up did the math wrong). A little different. 2: that includes an entirely lost year due to the Achilles injury, a year where he played only 27 games after his MVP year due to a separate injury and finally a shortened year that went from 82 to 72 games. So yes time missed but pretty specifically picked data. Change that to 7 years and removing the achilles and its up to 62 games (kinda reasonable). Very different. Not saying he isn't an injury concern but this is a prime example of cherry picking information.

    • @Kormans
      @Kormans  2 роки тому +1

      Fair enough. Points well received. I will throw in that a major injury always creates a scary for future injury risks. You never quite know how well the person will heal long term and have durability. Factor in the age as well- and the risk goes up. Just saying.

    Also 1:1 Durant is just straight up better than Kawhi in my personal opinion. More versatile offensively and a better play maker.

      Did this man just say KD is better than Kawhi 😂😂😂 people that just watch the game on one side of the court shouldn’t make statements like this. Kawhi is a 2 way player, KD is not! While KD is the better scorer Kawhi is the better overall player! KD isn’t know for his defence and defence win’s championship!!!. There’s a reason why this man couldn’t win anything in OKC with Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka.. 3 of those guy’s don’t play defence which is why that team flopped. You just judge players on the offensive side and not their overall game. Kawhi has won Finals MVP and defensive player of the year! That man was playing on one leg when he helped the raptors win a championship!!! When the raptors were down 0-2 in the series vs the Bucks and Kawhi was asked what adjustments does the raptors need to make. Kawhi: The adjustment is in guarding Giannis. What happen in that series ?🤔 the raptors came back to win that series. 2 WAY PLAYER!!!!
      KD is known as the guy that jumped on the Golden state dynasty to finally win a championship. It’s not surprising that he can’t win again while Kawhi has done it with 2 different teams!!. Guy’s like KD and Harden don’t play defence!

    I absolutely agree that we don’t want KD. Not just the high cost we need to pay for him, but having KD himself is a cost - I just don’t trust his team spirit in the locker room. He’s potentially very toxic. I also agree we should let the core plus even the fringe core grow up together. Chemistry and synergies are developed that way. This 100 times beat a single or even a couple superstars.
