Going to the UK and seeing castle is atop of my list. I am hoping to come over see all of these beautiful structures. I do not know about Baileys. Wonderfully done my friend.

Quality content as always. Stokesay Castle is absolutely beautiful with that weird Tudor-style attachment. Keep up the good work. Are you finding it difficult to get footage with the lockdown or was most of this filmed predemic?
Thanks for the comment :) Yeah stokesay is interesting, it’s technically a fortified manor house, (i’m making a video on these over the next few days) but yeah all the footage in this video was filmed before the lockdown. I’m unable to go out anywhere except for daily exercise, so cannot obtain footage which is really sad. I love exploring these new places and the history behind them, but once this is all over with i’ll be back out again!
Not clear changing from wood to stone? I could propose that the wooden ones were quick to build, to subdue the populace, then as and when needed they were rebuilt in stone. It wasn’t all at once as some were under more threat than others, especially in places that weren’t in places with good natural defence. Carpenters were very capable in those days, along with blacksmiths etc, but stonemasons were less common, especially very skilled ones. All seams pretty clear to me…being a petty tyrant, I know how to think like a real one…
