Just received my V3 in Natural Brown...the batteries needed to be physically pressed down into the compartment to activate the preamp, but that was a relatively easy fix, and the tone of these pickups/preamp is amazing at the price point...I did not have the dirt on the fretboard, but I prefer the strings run through the bass, so I swapped strings to flatwound and what a difference. also, the dealer in California, Pitbull Audio, are excellent and extremely responsive and accommodating. Once they learned of the issue, they offered to exchange the bass...I decided to keep the bass, and they said if I'd like to take it to a Tech for repair, THEY would pay for it...beat that! The string tree was also missing one of it's screws right out of the box, but that's got zero effect on how I enjoy this bass guitar. Bravo Sire...and thank you for high quality instruments at anyone-can-afford-one prices...
I have just bought the same base in White. I didn’t see your video before, but I agree with you totally cracking base with minor faults. Thank you for the good video and advice.
Three perfect v3s here. I like them - and particularly the tone - so much that I don’t want to play anything else. I could hardly believe the grime and dirt on yours… mine were all pristine. At least it can be corrected. Thanks for this review and your work, you speak English very correctly. One thing I don’t hear often is the unusual versatility of this bass, from metal to EDM, reggae to jazz and fusion. It is the most tonally versatile Sire bass. In my opinion apart from the tuners it is the best-sounding bass in the Sire range (yes, I know it’s the cheapest). Just listen to what Anton Antunes can do with his V3 over in his huge UA-cam channel. The guy owns a Fodera bass, but chooses to play his v3 nine times out of ten.
Thanks for your comment! I agree this is a really good bass. I recently got a Squier 40th anniversary Jazz Bass and although it looks and feels nice, the V3 (even in passiv mode) sounds way better.
Hello! Are the Tunners machine great? I heard so many people saying that on the V3 (the non passive one ) that tuners suck. Also whats the difference with V3 and V3 2nd generation?
@@stevewindsenergy well they are not great. They work OK, but I exchanged them for some Schaller BM light tuners. See my video on the modification of this bass for more details. I also did a short video comparing the Sire standard tuners (V3) with the premium tuners (P5)
Lighter tuners might help but I don’t think mine was particularly neck heavy with the stock tuners. On the lap every Jazz Bass is neck heavy but with a strap mine in fine.

Great! I think you can’t beat the V3 at this price point.
Great review! I have the 5-string V3 and my frets and fretboard were immaculate and silky smooth.
Nice! How much does your 5-string weigh?
@@basstelkeller I just weighed it to confirm, but it's right around 9.5 lbs. Not terrible with a wide padded strap.
@@ElioSpinello That’s alright for a 5 String J-Bass!
@@basstelkeller I'm pretty sure I've played Les Pauls that weigh as much or more 8-) The V3 is really a joy to play and it sounds great!

Thanks for the review. I have ordered an orange one, will share my experience!
Great color choice😀 Have fun with the bass!

I just got one and I love it except for the fact that has a neck dive and i cant get used to it. If i change the tuners will it solve my problem?
