There is a better app for android called Flapix Cinemagraph
this reminds me of harry style's album cause only the water moves and all that im amazed

So basically: spend 200 bucks or don't actually capture cinemagraphs yourself? :(

great video. I have always used pre-made photoshop cinemagraph templates from scarab13.com/animates to make those, but I hope to learn it all by myself, so I don't depend on a 3rd party files.
Really loved this video, the information is great! Just one piece of feedback for future vids (with lots of love and respect): I find it really difficult to hear the last few words/information at the end of sentences as your voice goes down so low - it could be just me, but i thought I'd let you know! Beautiful work though :)

Step 1: Buy an iPhone

you could just do this in after effects - exactly the same process. and very easy to get a cracked copy. but even the licence isnt too much. $200 for an app? madness

This is a cool app but too expensive. If you know how to use Ps you can achieve the same effect as well.

Thanks for that Sara, very useful. I'd tried Flixel before and love it (but not enough to pay full price) so the other two apps are just what I needed
You could always subscribe to Adobe cloud for a while and use photoshop to make cinemagraphs instead of paying $200 for an iPhone app.
I have Photoshop, but it's a much slower & more labour-intensive way of working than quickly creating on my phone. I tend to share content while I'm out & about, so this works best for me - but for anyone who has Photoshop it's definitely worth trying!

Flixel has such limited editing interface(especially for a software that costs 200 bucks). For a quickie flixel is good but for professional uses softwares like after effects works.

What kind of output file for it?? Is there you mentioned it already in comments?? I had this similiar concecpt for a real long time before i learned about this exsited it...coz i wanted an animated backdrop for my website...i called it video still...simply use video carefully framed my subjects for the moving part. It is easier than "cinemagraphic" process !?!?!
