I've had this pouch shortly after it came out and while I love it I very quickly found its limits. It can hold a surprising amount of cards and cash and coins in the main compartment, but the front pocket was almost completely useless for anything than, say, an airtag and a sim ejector tool wrapped in paper (so that's what I used it for). The main compartment was too tight but I found it actually broke in over time and became easier to take things out of. One side I exclusively kept cards and the other were cash and coins. The coins never found themselves into the other side surprisingly. I stopped using coins for a time and separated my most and least used cards between the sides and found that the front pocket actually fit my health card. I soon found more coins though and went back to cash-card separation. Also since I bought it so early in its life Alpaka actually emailed their customers for feedback on the pouch's design. Customers like me. You can thank me for the extra pockets on the front and back for the pro version 😉 (jk I wasn't the only one asking for it).
I bought this wallet as back up. I use minimal leather wallets as My main. This quickly turned into my fav wallet. I can always throw other misc things in there that a reg wallet can’t. Quality and materials are amazing.
I like pretty much every Alpaka. I've got the original pouch. The Go Sling Pro. The V2 Bookbag. Also their hub. Their warranty is second to none. Because the quality is great.
I've been using it for awhile now. I think yours is a fair assessment, but the added benefit of it being able to carry anything (in my case a tracker and a little pen), makes living with the issues worthwhile.
Personally I don't have any issue with the edge of the zippers. In fact if you accidentally drop the pouch it helps everything stay inside because of it, which is great for me because I have like 15 small tools in the front compartment (nail clippers, ti toothpick, folding scissors, tweezers, whistle, guitar pick, pry, sim tool, etc). I would definitely not put cards in the front pocket. It seems more like it was specifically made for coins. In the large pocket I just keep cash one side and cards the other side, plus 2 large bandaids behind the cards. Getting cards out I don't find an issue with either. It just pulls straight out for me.
I have the Forest Green version, as a small extra organization pouch in my sling bag. I agree with pretty much everything -- the opening is just too narrow to be fully usable, I have things that could fit in the compartment, but can't get past the opening. That divider feels unnecessary, the pouch is so tiny that I can't really fit all that much in it anyway, and the divider gets in the way when you actually need to find stuff in it. But overall it's really nice as a pouch to toss into another bag.
For all their functionality, zipper wallets have never really appealed to me. There just always feels to be too many steps to get something out. This was a great review, I agree that half moon is the way to go with a zipper wallets, but it would also be nice to have a quick access non-zipper slot on the outside.
If it had the two-sided zipper like the Zip Card Pouch, it would have been great! But yeah the main zipper opening is quite small. I'm sending mine back and going to go with the Card Pouch.
Everyone complaining about it as a wallet, but as a storage pouch, it's perfect for helping you commute without a bag. Fits galaxy buds pro with a case since I never trusted them just on a carabiner by itself, has a couple caffiene pills and eye drops since I just got Lazer eye surgery.
I really like that wallet... But your initial point about it needing a half-moon zip is exactly what i thought.... Because i would like it but not buy it for that reason... The material components colors fabric all excellent... but i like the half moon zip like on the County Comm wallet.... overall design but it is not thin or have the nicer features like the alpaca... If alpaca did a slight half-moon zip and reduced its dimensions under 5 inches length.... It would be a winner... very compact. secure and have greater accessibility.
Ordered it on amazon. I'm only gonna put cards I don't need to take out (key and metro card), a few bills and attach my house key on the side loop. It's just right for me.
What travel charger is that mark? I like the look of it and wanted to check it out! Love your reviews and picked up a lost Dutchman Franklin and I love it!
Great review, but you were so close to seeing the true potential of this wallet that I'm surprised you missed it. This is the perfect travel wallet just for money. You travel with less cards anyways, so a few cards, money, and coins just for the front pocket, and wow, its perfect. Not to mention that usability design flaw then actually becomes a security anti theft feature. And let's not forget that little strap pull that you conveniently missed on the feature section, it's the perfect tab to attach it something like a key leash inside a backpack/daypack providing even another layer of organization/security. For everyday carry, it's terrible, but for a few extra seconds of having to get something in and out, it's perfect for any international trip. This is our little secret though, let everyone keep buying the expensive Bellroy crap. So yeah, great review, but I will remind you to see the niche side of products too.
That's a serious design flaw, one that I may not have considered if I came across this wallet in an online store. I can see myself using this to store other things, maybe put it inside a larger pouch or bag, but I'd find it far to frustrating to use it as a wallet.
It's an awesome wallet. This company is one of those you can feel comfortable you're getting a quality product. Descriptions and precise measurements are readily available for all items. Like anything... you need to know what you want....and what you're getting before yo pull the trigger. This is a great wallet from a great company at an outstanding price. Look through thier products to see if this is right for you. Lots of cool stuff. Beware....you will buy more than you intend. The selection is awesome and the product is worth every penny.
Agreed, their stuff is really good, high quality, well thought out. And it seems like they're shipping new things every week! Their production team is amazing!
My problem with this wallet and I have 3 of them is that it’s simply too small. When you try to take stuff out other stuff tends to fall out. Also as you show you have to put the cards in at an angel. You have to fold your cash 3 times. I lost a 20 dollar bill at the store trying to get stuff out. At that point I stopped using it as a wallet and just use them as a small pouch. As a CDL driver I have to keep my DOT physical card on me at all times, this wallet is simply not usable as a wallet. I have come to realize I simply need bifold wallets.
It’s not a purse it’s not a wallet it’s a pouch. This is like an old man yelling at clouds. I carry this and use it every day even as my wallet and perfectly fine. I have no complaints of course the more you put it in the harder it’s going to open just like anything else.
Unfortunately everything I have owned from this company has just been complete garbage if you want a pouch go to the dollar store it will work just a good 🤨

iono man zipper wallets just look childish when u pull it out at checkout or when paying a bill. can u imagine pulling that out when out on a date at a nice restaurant? check plz.....zip. also yes it is too big what are u doing finding something in ur purse?
True, but every item has its setting. I wouldn't take it if I'm being fancy, but that's not where it is meant to shine. I thought the same as you about zipper pouches, until I got one as a gift. It's just very convenient, and it can store much more than cards. Zippers are good for just your everyday carry. If you're willing to try, watch Walletopia's review of CountyComm Zipper Corner Wallet, and consider it ☺

Great review, have purchased one with external card pocket, which i found it good

Great insights, thank you! I’ve found something similar with the Pioneer Carry Commuter zip, which I share in a video coming up.
@@walletopia I will check it out, thank you.
Which other minimal wallet do you recommend that can hold up to 8/10 cards? Thank you

Super informative 👌
Thank you
Yes, they haven't change or enlarge the zip opening design.
A coin pouch in the 1980s became q multi function wallet pouch in 2020s
I still love my Bellroy zipper, and this should be like that. The zip needs to go round the side to be able to use this properly. It's just too fiddly
Praying for getting 80k subscriber soon
Did you notice the zipper has cut your paper bill, that’s what the piece of dirt you wiped off?
Please review the Capsule Accomplice Zipper Wallet.
sir you are right ,pocket open just not wide enough ,which is not user friendly ,is only good for keeping coins
Review the Herschel Hank wallet
Which is the wallet you link to at the end of the video when you point? No link shows up.
You should put all your wallets in your pants pocket so we have an idea how it looks:)

Have this wallet. Don't use it because agree with everything you said.
Seems like the only thing they got right was the price. They should consider removing the side pocket and just offer this as a wallet pouch.
Yes
Zippers are too big and the openings should be bigger
When a wallet is bulkier than what it can carry, it is useless.
I can see the appeal, but it looks like a child’s wallet to me.
Unfortunately everything I have owned from this company has just been complete garbage if you want a pouch go to the dollar store it will work just a good 🤨
Not my style, haha.
A waste of money for me without the easy access for credit cards. Poor design
