Hey so the lunging is due to a short ratio first gear. Just imagine driving a manual in traffic, you’re likely to try and keep the car in 2nd when you can because of that same thing. A DCT is basically just an “automated manual transmission”. It’s a characteristic of the DCT, nothing is actually broken. Sure because the car is shifting less. But honestly, I don’t think that will make a huge difference. The only thing that truly matters is that you are using the engines momentum and not creeping forward. If you just let your foot off the brake and not use throttle you will ride the clutch. I would rather keep the car in second gear, as long as possible, rather than staying in first because of how short that gear is.

When I was buying, the Forte GT had next to nothing. No power front seats, nothing in the rear, overall felt like a cheaper interior. And the elantra offers more cabin room by some small margins. I haven't been inside a 2024 model of either so I can't really compare the two. Hyundai needs to fix the model name or change it to numbers. N line and N is way too easy to confuse people. That's why BMW change theirs to M performance to Mxxx such as the M340i.
I greatly appreciate your comment, but I actually think the opposite. I believe having trim names helps set them apart. It took me months to get my girlfriend to understand the differences between the trims at BMW. The brand new M sport cars now even come with lone M badges on the front grille, I.E. the x3m40i has one. The M brand continues to dilute itself as they make lower entry point cars with M badging all over the place.
@auto_joe would be nice if they could have gotten like 220hp out of the engine. I use Shell 91 ( it's the highest octane I can get) and I find it makes a difference too.
@@auto_joe if you want to upgrade your Hyundai, please let me know! Im the Korean guy selling Korean cars at Irwin Hyundai Laconia NH! Maybe Sonata N line with 290hp 311 torque or Elantra N!
Yeah they have gone up but they've also added some more luxury options such as a bigger infotainment screen, digital dash, etc. My advice would be to compare options and see if it's worth the difference in price to you. In my opinion, the 21 N Line's are well equipped enough. The only thing I have ever desired for in this car is adaptive cruise control which isn't a deal breaker for me. I would also ask the dealer about warranty for the 2021 car. Does the manufacturer warranty carry over to the 2nd owner or do they provide one for the car at all? You shouldn't have any major issues but it's a nice thing to have just incase.

@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 not a dumb question! No I have opted to have my car remain stock. I didn’t want to spend any money on this car because my goal has been to get the Elantra N… Hopefully this spring!
@@auto_joe ironically people have the urge to mod the full N too, even though you can take it to the track as it is
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 I just drove one. Didn’t think it needed a damn thing, such a perfect car. Most people just add power so they can go faster in a straight line. It’s hard for this FWD platform to be any faster around a tight track. I’d rather spend money on lightweight wheels and tires specific for track use.
@auto_joe here is the video where the guy modded the f*ck out of it to get 300: Elantra N-Line 300WHP tuned by JV Performance (Aramis Otero) | DIPR Car Stories #74 Drive in PR
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 im curious to know what his total cost was. I dont think i saw it mentioned in the video, however I am just going off of the english translation. Im willing to bet the nline and build cost more than an EN at MSRP
Funny enough I've had to also replace my horn, and backup camera on my 2021 Elantra N-Line. I've also had to replace the suspension on the driver side due to creaking and clunking. Im only at 43k miles but I'm looking for something else at this point, its good but the Hyundainess of it gets tiring in your 30s lol
Yeah you know how many people say the same thing to me about the horn and backup camera? Crazy. I don’t wanna deal with it either yet I’m looking at Elantra N’s currently 😅
@@auto_joe I might be trading it in for a WRX today, pretty good lease deals while i wait for something else to come out that catches my eye
I dont know what to get as my first car this or volester n , what do you think is better ? I want a good reliable car with good mileage for every day use to go to college
@@mgmd.324 an ELANTRA N-line will get you better gas mileage, and 4d backseats, Veloster N will get you better performance, and a hatchback. Mostly, it’s personal preference, but you also have to factor in cost and current miles on the cars you are comparing
@@auto_joe i honestly like the look of elantra more the volester but the sound and preformance of volester is what get me stuck between them two, but im leaning towards the n line more, i think a muffler delete and air intake is enough to make me enjoy the sound of it with a pop tune
@@mgmd.324 yeah you’ll be able to find a nice new or preowned one that you can mod. Best of luck!
I would go for the Veloster N but its definitely a bit more dated and loud compared to the N Line. Velosters much more fun if you’re gonna go spirited driving.
I’m trying to decide between a used 21 with 30k miles for 19999$ or a new one for like 29000$
If you have no kids and the interest rates are low, go for the new. I've owned both, the 2024 puts the power down better.
Great review!
Did you change spark plugs at 48k miles?
Honestly, I can’t remember at the moment, but I have done every maintenance item recommended by the manufacturer. I don’t do any of my own maintenance, my dealer does it
So how much does the blue link cost after your 3 free years are up ?
After the trial period is over, it is available for $99/year or $9.90/month.
Just bought a 24 Kona n line . Is that the same deal on it ; 3 years free n then they hammer you ?
@@GaryBrown-y7z yeah well they just take the blue link away until you pay. I can’t start my car from the app anymore
Just bought 2024 Elantra n-line, partially your fault 😅😅😅i love it, thanks for the insight, any tips on winter ❄️ driving tires ? I live in NH
Haha congratulations! What color did you get?Glad I could help with the purchase😉. Honestly I think the best way to go about it is to get snow tires. I haven’t had them for this car, mostly because I don’t have a place to store a 2nd set of tires but I’d go Blizzaks. The Hankook all seasons that came with my DCT N line were pretty bad in snow but my continental DSW06+’s are a good all around, all-season tire. If you buy snow tires you can wear out your all seasons or sell them and get a set of summer tires.
@@auto_joe thanks for your reply, I got the abyss black
About to make the purchase myself
@@fleetleader1013 I love mine, dct transmission a little different but fast , nice solid car ,had a emergency braking to avoid a car, brakes never locked up, steering was possible ,good luck
I decided on a 22 instead of a 23 overall 22 the digital gauges are kinda ugly, wired car play is kinda lame, & no led strip.
Good choice!😎
I think the pre-face lift should be the N and the post-face lift should be the n line.
I would like that! It’s too bad they already updated both cars
The dct in the N is way better then in the nline.
@@timothycordial1248 I would hope so! I drove the Kona N and I didn’t notice the shifts being any quicker but the Grin shift mode was cool
@@auto_joe it’s 8 gears instead of 7.. and I promise you it’s much quicker in the kN . It’s a lot stronger.
When you're trying to pass on the highway, try downshifting a few times
I do. Still feel like the car could use more power
@auto_joe would be nice if they could have gotten like 220hp out of the engine. I use Shell 91 ( it's the highest octane I can get) and I find it makes a difference too.
@@auto_joeThe EN has just the right amount of passing power. Sounds like its for you
@@Duran762 I’m just waiting for the 23’s to not be at MSRP with 20-30k miles on them. The financing rates aren’t great either but we’ll get there!
@@auto_joe really? I see many used ENs in my area for $30k less than 10k miles.
That car for 23k is not bad at all
It was a great deal. They have since raised the MSRP on this car and I don’t think you can get a new one under 27k
@@auto_joe if you want to upgrade your Hyundai, please let me know! Im the Korean guy selling Korean cars at Irwin Hyundai Laconia NH! Maybe Sonata N line with 290hp 311 torque or Elantra N!
"Most modern cars" 😂😂
lol
They have gone up so much in price the last 3 years now the same as civic si,
Yeah they have gone up but they've also added some more luxury options such as a bigger infotainment screen, digital dash, etc.
100th humbs up
Thank you for the support 😎
