I know I'm late to the party...lol..but I just found this video. ;) I got two of these now (found on sale at a local Walmart. Yes, Walmart! ), with one quick question. Would it be possible to 'cut' the bottom of the body and glue those 'belly pan' parts to the chassis by themselves? I realize it would be some work, but my only concern if I do that is how the rest of the body would line up with the bottom (cut off) part. I would assume that on the full size original cars, the lower part of the body belly pans were actually separate pieces? Since it would be impossible to work on them, not to mention impossible to build them with the body as one piece. ;)
Ronald, You could do, that but there's nothing above the belly pans that are removable except the tube frame. Engine work was done by removing the top panels and pulling the motor for lower end work. You would also have to add some braces/framework to join/align the body panels when the belly pans are removed. With AA Fuel front engine class I can see it being a little dangerous like when open wheel race cars use to be front engine anything part like driveshaft or clutch steering would messed up a leg.
Man that came out slick!! Great job!
