This is the best vid ive seen for starter players. The rest of the youtubers start basic but cant help themselves but to start throwing out all of the high level forum slang without explaining anything at all. I wish I wouldve discovered this video 2 weeks ago
Thank you for the kind comment. I was used to create guides for an online game that is now gone dark. My audience were mostly new to the game mechanic. Hence I am used to explaining things from that perspective. Enjoy season 16 by the way.
Knowing I can actually see the list of the possible enchanting list really helped! I just got this game on my Nintendo Switch. Thanks for your video and I have to keep grinding for a socket on my helmet.
Glad to hear that! And for your helmet or head item, you can visit the enchanter and reforge an affix that you don't need into a socket. It just costs gems plus some other things! (at least in the PC version).
I recently came back to this game after levelling two characters to 70 and then moving on to other games. Now with all the changes and game modes made available, I returned and was wondering where the hell to begin without wasting time. This video certainly clarified lots of things for me and allowed me to avoid just blindly diving in and inefficiently blundering my way through to figure things out and get to the really fun, and just as important, the productive loot drop bits :) Nothing is more frustrating than grinding through gameplay only to discover a misunderstanding of the gameplay changes means you wasted more time than necessary. Thanks for the guide.
Thanks dude. Love how comfortable you are speaking with your accent. Dont get me wrong, mr wong, i like the accent. Im a streamer with an accent myself and it amuses me to hear someone else with an accent not stopping him from spewing information out. Haha. I hope I make any sence. Keep it up brother you helped me out ALOT
Now this is more detailed and user friendly. The previous vid i watched about guides was utter trash. I dont know what he was spouting. How can a beginner know if he throws about technical jargons and assuming we know what they know. Thankful for this.
Good video explaining the different options, however this game seems to lack greatly is: What is the point of getting super strong gear if there is no objective to use it at. As someone that recently reached lv70 and have been farming for a week now, I think ahead and only see that I'm trying to get better gear to be able to farm more gear... It's hard to justify the effort. In a lot of games, specially MMOs, you grind a lot, farm a lot, with the objective of going to a special dungeon or something. Not the case in Diablo3
Thanks for the comment. That's also why some of us play season instead so that there is an end goal to it (e.g. complete season journey with a class). Beyond the season goals, it is a test of how far the build can go within the current meta.
Yeah... it has been a while. Think I will hop back in and check out the new season. I have my eye on a cool lightning wizard build that seems fun. It's an interesting time for Arpg's. Grim Dawn is going to have an expansion somewhat soon, PoE's Breach League ends late Feb, MH...well.... yeah, also Wolcen released a big update today (though there is no real progression as everything will keep getting wiped as I think they are still calling it Alpha). D3's more easily digestible mechanics and easier to manage gearing makes it a nice casual distraction for me. I have gotten pretty wrapped up in it before when chasing Grifts on a Marauder DH and later on an Inna's monk. This is one of those games where i can honestly say that actual player skill is a huge factor in pushing those really high (90's I guess?) Grifts. Never got too crazy high, but it would be pretty cool to check out the old-school Tristram content and see what I can get done in the Season before doing my impression of the dog from "Up" and going "Squirrel!" at a different game. Ty for the video as always
It is fun time for ARPG for sure. I am still trying to get the first tier of reward from PoE breach league. Wish me luck! Blizzard games have always been like this. Easy to pick up, hard to matter. Also one of the reasons why I enjoy D3 from time to time.
I thought this game as gonna be a lot harder than it was in the first 3- 4 difficulty settings. Torment definitely requires some grindwork, but everything is basically the same as D2 in terms of difficulty. Tip for newbies...For your first run through, play on normal, you cant lose... unless you're like me and play high and space out and just stand there in a mob, staring blankly at the screen. haha
Very informative video, explained everything i need to start this up again (only level 58). On the quality of content of this video i have subbed and hope i find more like this in your playlist!
Very nice video, I just got this game on PC and started a barbarian but I've played a lot on PS4 I just never got to level 70. (this might sound kind of weird but I like your accent lol)
I'm I also just picked up the game and this guide was pretty good. I just have a question on how you can get some of the green gear. I saw in a video that they did these green portals. Where can I find them to get the specific gear and do I need a certain torment or other things to find them?
jim eugen , the green ones are set items. Each class has a few sets that go by tiers. To collect sets, you have to go torment and higher. Or as in this video, exchange the blood shards with the vendor to have a chance of getting a green (pretty good chance). You may also use the Kenai Cube and turn green dupes into a random green. Have fun!
Awesome vid mate. I'm hitting GRIFT 82 solo atm, farming them sweet ancients, is there much else to do other than rifts? That and levelling / bounties is all I've found right now, I feel like I'm missing something
Nice work! Are you playing season? Season gives you a reason to try out a different class with a different build. At times, Blizzard tunes the items and new build emerge. Have fun :)
What are rifts? Are they just the story mode recycled? Or are they comparable to raids? Can you play them with other people? Is there rift specific loot to grind for and such? I just started playing the story mode on console, what else is there to do end game, is there a pvp mode? Sorry for all the questions.
Greater Rifts are like an endgame mode whereby you have to defeat a set number of enemies and the rift boss before the time runs out. By doing so, you get to have a chance to upgrade the powerful legendary gems (3 of them in total). Rift is also a good place to farm XP as well as blood shards for gear exchange. The higher the rift, the greater the challenge and rewards. Basically, normal and greater rifts are something for us to do in end game. The story mode is a good introduction to the role playing aspect of the game. Once you have seen the story, feel free to switch to the adventure mode where the end game is. Have fun! PS. No PVP.
And can anyone point my what I should be doing now? Did my first greater rift yesterday and was wondering is that where I should just stay? Is the only reason for doing bounties for more cash and crafting mats? Cheers guys! Hadnt played this in years and all new to me again. Restarted and now starting my end game
Bounties are good for gems and crafting mats. With the crafting mats, you can craft better weapons. Once you solo'ed a Greater Rift 70, you have a chance to craft (and loot) a primal ancient item (the affixes will be all at max). Greater Rift is for you to get XP, blood shards for gear exchange, and to level up your legendary gems. The goal is to get higher and higher. Best of luck!
Wilfrid Wong Thank so much Wilfred! This is what I thought. But will get confused thinking when should i stopped sifting.... So do as many greater rifts as possible till i need to upgrade?
So whatever the item affixes are that you selected automatically are in your hero powers? You don't have to add the affix onto an item in your build? 26:00
@@WilfridWong hey fellow singaporean citizen hehe i just started playing this game but i always wonder how do people increase their difficulty and obtain set gear ,is there any chat group u have to discuss ? Or perhaps ur hp ?lol i just 15 oni and a Singaporean too
Could you add me into your Battle.net? Lace#1115. You could join my humble clan. Or just chat online. Playing season is a quick way to get set items because they are rewarded as you complete the journey missions. Otherwise, doing bounty in adventure mode and rifts reward good gear progression too!
No. Torment governs the overall difficulty of the two game modes - story and adventure (that includes bounty and normal rift). To go beyond Torment 13, there is greater rift. Playing your character at Torment 1 is very different from playing at Torment 13 and very different from greater rift level 80+ (T13 is level 60). It requires a different set of skills and play styles. To be honest, I have not played story mode for a very long time. Each season, I just level through adventure mode and rush to end game asap.
In a way, yes. However, the main difference is that the skills that you pick, the build that you have, the passive that benefits you, the way that you play changes as you gear up. And to gear up is to do higher difficulty. Every incremental improvement to your gear, however small it is, you can see progress (rift leveling is from 1 to 100+). Also, as the rift gets more difficult, the way you approach the rift will be different. At lower difficulty, you may just roll steam the whole rift. Later on, you realize that if your dps is not high enough, you can't win. Then later on, mobs start to one-shot you. You learn what to avoid and how to counter. It takes time to master the skill and some make it through, some don't. In case if you make it beyond greater rift 70, there is a whole new approach on the fastest way to hunt down elite packs while not being killed by the mobs in between. And with randomized maps, it is actually really fun and challenging.
Hey buddy. This video is titled "starting". Hence, it is not really the end goal. I do have videos whereby my hero does much higher rift with much better gear. The goal of this video is to re-introduce D3 to those who have left a long time ago and hopefully, through hearing what I've learned, come back to D3. Cheers.
I was. The video was titled as the 'start' of end game journey and hence, it wasn't meant to be at end game. Eventually, managed to solo GR95 in last season though. You could say that I am still not at end game but I am not aspired to reach the top leaderboard 😀.

It is account-wide. Also, whatever you extract during season journey will be merged into the standard account when season ends.
