Purchased my new 2023 F150 XLT FX4 with the 5.0 on 10/24, dumped my RAM 1500 Laramie Classic Eco-Diesel, so happy I switched back to Ford. Quality is 100x better and I actually feel like I am drive a pickup, not a luxury car with a truck bed.
How's it been? I see so many people ranting about how " its the worst truck they ever bought" with " constant problems" should those reviews in your eye be taken to heart? Or are those poor people that unfortunately got lemons. About to pull the trigger on one.
@@NorthernRailsTrainsInTheNorthabout to pull the trigger on an Eco-Diesel? I wouldn't buy one again. I bought the Eco-Diesel new in 2019, the truck is super comfortable to drive due to its soft suspension, and I average around 23mpg, could get 28mpg on the freeway with cruise control set at 75, those were the good things. Bad, the software suspension would cause the ass of the truck to sag so bad that my trailer tug jack would hit curbs when towing, the truck towing or not is gutless on the freeway, parking brake sensor failed, there is a recall on the high pressure fuel pump which is fails could cause the motor to blowup, the day I went to look at the F150 again the electronic throttle body sensor threw a code and the truck went into limp mode, luckily I found a video on how to clean the sensor, which worked, after clearing the codes went straight to ford and unloaded the dodge. Never again. As for the F150, so far it is great, only thing is the drivers window when using the auto-up on the power windows, the window will go up and close the go back down, haven't looked into why, if I close the window not using the auto-up feature, it closes fine. I average 17mpg, great 21mpg on the freeway with cruise set at 75.
@sactownraiders01 that's good to hear. It's the 23 F150 with the 5.0 I'm about to pull the trigger on. Aka signing the papers next week if it goes through well with the financing department to trade in my ranger. I'll keep an eye on that window thing if i do get it. Just been seeing so many mixed opinions on the 150. Some saying it's fantastic some saying it's horrid.
@@NorthernRailsTrainsInTheNorthIf I had to bitch about the F150 here is what I would complain about (Ford changed/removed 5 or 8 feature due to lack of chips, don't recall all the changes) but here is a list from F150 forum. I found a fix for the window thing, will try it later today.
1. No front parking sensors on my XLT Fx4, not a big issue but they are nice to have
2. No heated steering wheel, again not a big issue just nice to have
3. Auto/Start stop don't care
4. 3rd brake light camera don't care
5. Intrusion Inclination Sensors for the Advanced Security Pack
6. Active Park Assist 2.0 (Lariat & Above)
7. Multi-Contor Seat with Active Motion (King Ranch & Above)
8. Spare tire lock
I don't know why someone would say the truck is horrid, what are they comparing it to? IMO F150 is the best truck on the market at any trim level.
@sactownraiders01 I'm assuming those saying it's horrid is just part of the stupid big 3 brand wars. I remember when I got my ranger it didn't have the auto stop start cause of the chip shortage but I hate that with a passion so I didn't really care. Picking the f150 up next week so I'll see how it is. I have high hopes for it

Does the FX4 ride better or worse than the normal 4x4 model?
Even tho I'm a Ford guy and I love the F150 any truck that comes with 20's or larger from the factory is not an offroad truck
I take my truck off-road every other week up a mountain for my deer hunting spot. Never had any problems with 20” wheels. Unless your rock crawling (which you’re not in a truck) or doing the Baja 1000, 20s are fine.
Smaller wheel means more sidewall which results in a more comfortable ride on road.
