R.I.P. Burt !!!! Nobody was better!! He was a good ol boy!!
Yes He is a wonderful good ol' boy!
TRUTH....
I love movies like this. Shows how much basic automotive suspension technology has advanced since then. Great car flick.
1:15 that's my dad on the bike..😂😂😂
Gotta love the 4 speed and RWL tires on that big ol Ford!! I wanted one when I first saw the movie many decades ago.
Nothing but good 'ol Naturally aspirated 70's muscle car sound @ 0:54. Those times had nothing like the supercharger and turbo crap today!!!
Goes from escaped police chase to reminiscing with a couple of chicks. Burt was the man. RIP
That sound at 0:22 is absolute music to my ears!!!
Imagine that movie made today with "Gator" driving a 797 hp redeye hellcat
Nobody drives a badass car like, Burt Reynolds.
Kowalski (Barry Newman) comes to mind even though mostly pro drivers in that movie...
Ain't nobody can Handel an ol ltd like Burt god bless you gator and rest in peace your the reason I love ol cars and speed you paved the road for me
Classic movie. RIP BURT
This and Vanishing Point are my two favorite car chase movies of all time!!! That stunt driver was driving that LTD like it was a little car!!! Rest in power Burt!!!!
That was Burt Reynolds driving he did a lot of the driving except the real dangerous stuff.
@@mrHoppedupford no that was Hal Needham lol
@@mrHoppedupford doing the dangerous stuff I mean
before cgi- fuckin AWESOME driving! when he hooked that fucking corner at 1:30? i think-badazz baby!
Rip Burt 1936-2018
But Reynolds and Jerry Reed along with James best and Don Knotts will always be my favorites
The 429 was a great engine
RIP Burt :-(
He’s shifting a manual in one scene and then puts it into park in another scene haha. 🤪
This kicked off the southern car chase movies for the remainder of the seventies.
True but they were hoping that you didn’t notice that lol
429 top loader 4 speed Hurst shifter ,, i love it ...
man i love this part
no cgi- real badazz driving skill on display! 1 of my favorite movies- i still have it on a vcr tape- yes VCR- that i recorded 20 yrs ago- cant find it on dvd.
Say hello to my dad for me when you get to heaven Burt.
DLB. Drive like Burt!!😜👍🤣
RIP Burt
Damn gator ol boy keep her steady
When he downshift then upshift that 429 was singing more more more.
Burt reprised the drive-by pose at 1:46 in Smokey and the Bandit.
And then proceeds to break the 4th wall, good catch.
this is how we were taught how to drive, back roads, dirt track, etc.. if you couldnt handle a car, you did not get your license, my dad and my uncle taught us. we learned with a 4 speed car , not a automatic. drum brakes, no power steering.
I didnt know they made stick shift Ltds back then, Most cars like that from the south are new refridgerators, but out west I still see a few of them from time to time.
Just like me with a 64 Ranchero.
But that’s a column shift auto. The 4 speed shots with the wood rim steering wheel car is a Mustang
@@renj6531 you couldnt from the factory. you could get a 3 speed on the column but it was with the small block and 6 only
I learned how to drive in a 1964 Ford Fairlane 260 V8 3 speed on the column, no power steering or power brakes, man I miss that car
Thats a lot of people just standing there at 1:39 in the background!!
That happened in many b-movies of the 1970s. Bystanders
looked at the filming, they weren't told to stay away.
1971 Ford galaxy 500 is the car probably a 429 engine good looking sleeper
Yes It Was Hell of A Car 😎
You didn't worry about gas mileage in those days...
With a 4 speed
1971 Galaxie
Custom 500
I have one
I'm pretty sure a 429 was an option in 1971 but I don't think a 4 speed was an option
sean brooks the car Reynolds was in was n automatic on the column u see him throw it park a few times, the car show with the 4 speed was a Mustang
Sean Brooks, ford would of put that 4 speed in there, if you special ordered it, theres reports of station wagons, leaving the factory with 4 speeds..
That’s a column shift auto car. The 4 speed shots are a Mustang
The car that was in the movie had a 428 Cobra jet 4 speed in it if you remember it you know you're old
Nope....
It had a 429 BBF motor.
Stunt driver's no slouch
Burt Reynolds actually did most of the driving in this movie. Newham did the dangerous stuff.
1:01 now that hill has trees grown on it and the Kroger is now a abandoned furniture store and they built a Kroger downtown.
Does anyone know the name of this tune on the radio?
If you find out, I definitely want to know.
Song at 0:20?
Free baby!!!!
The car & Burt were cool for certain but what about 'Sugar Pie' ? Hmm Hmm Good !
sugar puddin
Why are the driver's side headlines tape in one shot?
昨年他界されたバート・レイモンド氏は『ロンゲストヤード』でもシトロエン・SMでハデにドリフトターンを決めている
This should be in the Smithsonian.....it very accurately depicts life in rural southern united states' in the early seventies...i can say this because I was there...
Anyone know the name of the song he turned on ? Lol
I am also still looking for that song he turned on for years ! Did you find anything ?
Me too I'm looking as well
The name of that song is "Shine Boys"
It's called. Back roads cruising
@@mrHoppedupford Thank you. Who performed it?
