He is a genius. A complete genius. He realised that, if your mentality is helping your teammates, and not being the best you can be, the best among your pears, then every team with that mentality will fail. He doesn't reject teamwork, because the best players know when and how to work as team. Cantona passed the ball, so did Pelé, and Noa passes it too. The ego he talks about is trying to be the best, and to be the best you have to take all the right decisions, and in doing so, if every player on a team thinks like that, then that will be the best team. Because if you play for others, trying to make THEM the best, you will never reach your full potential, but if you play to make yourself the best, you may reach even higher than that!

Something like blue lock being produced in Japan is so interesting. I don’t want to oversimplify, but it is generally accepted that Japan is a country that heavily focuses on teamwork, group values, communal harmony over individualism. Yet, blue lock is here literally turning it on its head and saying “this is terrible” and promoting extreme individualism and personal achievement literally “egoism”. I’ve never seen a manga or sports manga made in Japan that literally fights against all cultural values of the country it was produced in. Very interesting

Because they had enough being losers! What he said was true 'for strikers'. Defenders, midfielders and goalkeepers, YES, they have to be good team workers and combine with the others... but THE STIKER is like the last connecting piece between the the team and their goal scoring! The striker HAS to score! Its the essence of the role and his position is also the closest to the goalie! There is no excuse for the striker not to score! Ego is right: the striker NEDS to be selfish and egotistic, but also cutthroat! Stepping on the bodies and depriving the rest of the team to score for him to be able to. Its the essence of his role!

Helping your teammates is not the opposite of being the best you can be. In reality, helping your teammates is EXACTLY ABOUT being the best you can be. If you want to be the best you can be, you are also wanting to help your teammates and if you want to help your teammates, you must also strive to be the best you can be. It is not either/or, it is both.
It is very straightforward. The problem is not wanting to help your teammates be the best, neither is it wanting to be the best yourself, the problem is being afraid of the spotlight and being shy. Competition is about the ego, yes, but certainly not about selfishness.
it is about winning, for sure, because winning validates the work. But if you think it's not about teamwork, bonding, and connection, then you're hilarious. The best teams in football history have been the teams that work best together. Barcelone dominated world football, so did Manchester United, so did Ajaz, so did Milan. So did Manchester City, and even Real Madrid. hilariously, the Galacticos ALWAYS failed when they tried to shoehorn individually wonderful players without making them a team. Messi is so great because he encourages his teammates to strive for greatness and he is universally loved.
This video sounds like it's tackling a specific cultural problem in a specific location and probably should not be swallowed hook, line, and sinker without critical thought being applied.
    Shalom. ✌🏾✌🏾

People who hate Ego Jinpachi are close minded, i mean think deeper, his speech was obviously meant to be taken with a tiny grain of salt, obviously this Noel Noa who is rated higher than Messi and Ronaldo doesn't exist and since all of them are egotistical and have never won a world cup (Excluding Messi to this day) it means that scoring goals by yourself isn't the formula to win, the purpose of this speech of his is to build the ego and drive for young japanese players to develop a killer instinct and higher individual skill so that they as a player are higher value than if they just stick to relying on teamwork and strategies consisting of covering each other's weaknesses rather than everyone on the team strengthening their skills so that individually they can work on any team they join, so to summarize, what Ego is trying to preach is that you'll get nowhere if you aim low and just see yourself as a team player with mediocre allies instead of aiming high and joining the prestigious leagues battling against much stronger opponents and allies where everyone one-ups each other instead of acting as a roleplayer and settling for less

This one guy considered Ego a fool and how his vision is nothing but a warped and twisted reflection of his own flaws and insecurities, telling me how much of a stubborn and deluded person Ego is, right, it maybe a cold, ruthless and harsh mindset. But it's nothing more but the key to actually winning and becoming the best of the best, the guy was literally blinded by the actual football the guy sees.

You can still be humble and still be the best. I myself can care less about being the best. I just don't like falling behind and strength is what I chase. So I always look to match the best and never fall behind. That is just me. You can strive to become the best. I don't care for titles. Just to become strong. What I am getting at here is that I look to always improve. Work hard and never fall behind. That alone is one of my strengths as I am always grinding for that. Ego is never bad. But your mindset to never quit and never stop improving is what makes people strong. It's never bad to look at others as a goal point. Because that goal point is sometimes what you need to reach him or her. It's the mindset and grind. That how you become strong. The will to continue and never quit. Your mindset is first. If you can intake anything needed and execute and also through your mind is what gives you the actions you make. Your body then has to meet it. Mind comes in many angles of what needs to be done.

This is the absolute BEST speech in the history of anime AND football!!! Everything he said was true!!! The Hell with team work! All of those players were indeed the most selfish and notoriously rude football players this world has ever interviewed! YET, they were insanely good and didn't need as much teamwork as most of the pathetic losers we have on the court today! This is a wake up call for everyone training strikers around the world! Get your s*it together and start producing the best Egotist on this planet!
And also, this man is an amazing choice for the dub voice actor of Ego Jinpachi as well!

    • @richie_0740

every title winning team in history is not just built on a striker, look at man city 2022, yes erling haaland is a beast but the core of the team was rodri and gundogan, both played as defensive midfielder, the player who has none of the glamor of the attacking players yet the resilience and was the connecting line between attack and defense, the croatia team that beat japan in the world cup had a midfield engine consisting of modric, brozovic and kovacic, a sturdy defense in gvardiol and lovren, and an attacking threat of kramaric, petkovic and perisic, hell, you take a look back at the 99 man united team that won the treble, their entire field had stars in them that was not just just good at scoring goals, sheringham, beckham, solskjaer, cole, keane, scholes, butt, stam, johnsen, schmeichel, and more, this thinking is flawed cause to really win a title in a football game, not only must you have the greatest strikers, but a well oiled team that can dictate everything in a match

I dont think people believe this sort of mindset works outside of just sports. Applies academically. All of the people I've known that worked and accelerated themselves ahead in life are all represented in ego's speech. (Most of my friends went on to work very successful careers, Most of them ranked in the top 5 among all of the graduates in the major). Relying and comparing yourself to other's can spiral, however if you take that mindset of beating them. Most if not all people will find the answer
