This tune was recorded during a special time in music - Tower of Power, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, and Chicago Transit Authority all had excellent horn sections - and Rick Steven's vocals were so powerful and soulful. You can tell that he means each and every word he is singing. No duplicity, no mendacity, no pretense: I'm not too young, YOU ARE THE ONE!

Rick Stevens was one of the great soul singers of that period until he went to prison and the band never was the same after that. Great memories...thank you once again. But far as TOP as a group, WOW! Tower of Power's horn section were so well known they were used by other artists like Santana, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Patti Labelle and Otis Redding just to name a few. These guys should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame but they're not..what a shame.
