    Just found this, and find it VERY interesting.. As an old MX rider, I'd love to see one of these vids about the tires that are fitted to speedway bikes. Thank you!

    Love these technical talks. As a fan, it's amazing the blank looks one gets if one asks questions about gearing, carburettor jets and ignition timing when attending a meeting to people who should be in the know. Of course, it could be that they are acting dumb in case any information relevant to track conditions is passed on to the opposition! 😃

    How are the No Spin Disc Carriers made, what does each part look like and How do they keep the rear wheel disc from turning?
    Thanks Carl

    Can I have examples for WHY I would want to change the timing fora particular track or condition please?

    just wondering why all riders seem to make clutch lever adjustments while staging at the line?

    • @damiannowatka333
      @damiannowatka333 4 роки тому +1

      So the biting point of the clutch can be optimum for the riders liking

      @@damiannowatka333 thanks for the reply.Such a minute adjustment.hard to believe it makes that much of a differance.

      @@maddadd1 no worries. If the clutch plates kissed it would drag the rider into the tapes.

    Im having problems with backfire coming through my carb and actually popping off of the engine. when it doesn't do that it sputters when I open the throttle. Ii have a float less blix style carb. can anyone help.

    Can you explain a little more why the rider might want the engine to rev more or less from the optimum position?

    • @garyoneill8868
      @garyoneill8868 3 роки тому +1

      Advancing the ignition may give some more revs but a big bonus can be the power it can give through much of the rpm range. It can help the engine pull out of a "bogging" situation in the corners, give more grunt after it leaves the start line (minimises the chance of the engine dropping revs after the clutch is out and the bike is well under way but still accelerating), better throttle response if the rider is off the throttle (which they often are).

      @@garyoneill8868 thanks Gary, are there disadvantages of advancing ignition too much? Not sure what difference high compression and methanol would make, does detonation occur as with petrol? I rode speedway bikes back in the 80s and was told to open or close the points on my Weslake to alter ignition and soften the engine to get more grip. It seems all different now and I am really interested in the technical side of the sport. Thanks for your answer.
