@@samu-chan that's literally so beside the point. also it's pretty great, not mid (at least imo, but then i read it at the right point in my life, and after i was already so obsessed with it because of the movies)
Destiny, I don’t leave comments on videos too often, but I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your videos. I don’t even read romance, but I still sit there and listen to your thoughts because I enjoy your personality and think you are excellent at explaining what you like/don’t like about a book. Of course, I know you read much more than romance, but I just mean to say I enjoy watching you talk about all genres, whether I read them or not :)
I will never be disappointed by what you read girl, I would much rather you don’t force yourself so when you do get to read Harry Potter it was your choice!! Much love❤️
I think we need to normalize not reading so many books in a month. Reading a few books is fantastic and I feel like the more that’s being read the less likely you are obtain what you’re reading. It’s ok you didn’t read much and you should read what you’re in the mood for or it’s not going to be enjoyable and reading is suppose to be fun. 🖤
I love how much you motivate me to read, it’s unbelievable. Sometimes I’m just in a mini slump where I just don’t feel like reading or I don’t like the book I’m reading or the book I just read was way too good that I can’t find another one to get into, but you just get me right back into the book(s)
At the end of the day YOU are the one doing the reading!! You read what you want to and when you want to, we’re just happy to watch you talk about that 💜
That part about friendships really resonated with me. I’ve been friends with someone since I was 2 (I’m 21 now) and we grew up seeing each other ALL the time. When I think of my childhood, I think of her. Honestly there was a point where I couldn’t imagine my life without her always being there. But as we’ve gotten older, I’ve grown into a massive introvert and she’s a very outgoing person who parties a lot and has a million friends. We’ve become so different whereas when we were kids, we were so similar. Now she lives far away and I haven’t seen her in person in two years. And it may sound messed up, but I don’t miss her, the 23 year old her in current time; I miss her as a kid and I miss our childhood. It really is just life and I accepted long ago that our growing apart is natural and I don’t lose sleep over it. I have my own life and friendships that matter a lot to me
Des you are looking STUNNING in this vid. Don’t put extra pressure on yourself. You could literally post a vid of paint drying and I would watch the whole thing because of how much I love you!!❤️❤️❤️
I always enjoy your monthly wrap-ups! It helps give me ideas for books to read in the following months. Please don't feel bad about not reading the Harry Potter series ❤ As you said, I would rather it be months later, and you enjoy it than forcing it and you hate it. Also, September was the WORST reading month for me, too! I'm looking forward to a better reading month in October. 🍂
Hey Destiny! I wanted to say tysm for posting on my birthday:) It wasn’t the greatest and when I came home yesterday to a video by you it made my day. I love you and Sara so much, you guys have been my main source of comfort lately and I couldn’t be happier. Love you! ❤️
I was excited for you to read Harry Potter but am absolutely not disappointed. You shouldn’t force yourself to read it if you aren’t in the mood! I myself am a huge mood reader to the point I never set myself a TBR each month anymore because I used to plan what I wanted to read each month and would hardly read any of the books because they weren’t what I was in the mood for at the time and knew if I forced myself, I wasn’t going to enjoy it as much. So I totally get you. Definitely don’t pressure yourself to read certain books because we want you to, many of us including myself love you and your videos no matter what you’re reading ❤
Des, I recommend reading Harry Potter in November! it has equal Fall/Halloween and wintery/Christmas vibes imo, so it'd be perfect to read during that in-between period !!
Personally, I LOVED the brothers Hawthorne. Your criticisms were so valid but I just adored that book, one of my top books of the month!!! Also so not disappointed in Harry Potter, do it when you want and if you want
LOVE LOVE LOVE your book rating, spice ,genre on the screen!!! I can screen shot your reviews and then reference when im ready to place a book order. Wish other reviewers would do this. You RoCk!
you always put a smile on my face, please dont worry about disappointing us, we just want you to have fun with the books that u read and enjoy them as well i hope you're having a good day
Something i love about Destinys videos is that she mentions if the book has spice or not. As a person who does not like reading spice this is very helpful, like the second i see a good book she mentions without spice i immeadetly add it to the tbr. I wish other youtubers did that.
So excited to see another video from you!!! Never apologize for what you read or dont read - definitely not worth putting that extra pressure on yourself. Much love always ❤
I had kind of a slow reading month in October too - some of my favorites I read in September are A Thousand Boy Kisses, Would You Rather, and Life's Too Short!
You know you’re a Booktuber when you read more than 5 books in 1 month and you feel like you didn’t read enough😊. I read None of This is True along with the audiobook! What a treat that was. The voice acting was wonderful it really made me wish it was on Netflix ❤
17:51 Another book that seems to be similar to this one is Happy Place by Emily Henry. I loved Judy Blume’s book as a kid like Blubber and Superfudge. I will definitely have to check out Summer Sisters.
You've compeltely convinced me to read "Firefly Lane" it's literally been on my tbr for almost a year and it's about time that I read it. I hear there's also a sequel called "Fly Away". Have you read that one too?
No worries about Harry Potter girlie, just read when you're ready 💕 The first 2 books I'd read as a bit of palette cleansers since they're on the lighter & younger side, just fyi! 🤗
To me, a three star rating is an average reading experience. I didn’t love it, but I also didn’t hate it. I enjoyed and had fun reading it, but it’s not an especially memorable book. I may forget I read it by the end of the month, but I had fun with it in the moment.
if you like Summer Sisters, i really recommend Elena Ferrate's Napolean Novels (starting with My Brilliant Friend)!! the whole series follows two girls friendship from childhood to old age in the '50s, '60s, and '70s in Italy. ive never read Summer Sisters but it sounds similar. i am sooo attached to all the characters. you def need to check it out!
Destiny I have a book recommendation for you that is already there on your physical tbr if i'm not wrong. Your description of the summer sisters is so similar to the experience I had reading The Neapolitan series starting with my brilliant friend. I saw that book once in one of your hauls I highly recommend you read it if you enjoy such themes of friendships.
september was such a struggle for me with my reading, i read 7-8 books each month during the summer and read 2 in september and felt meh about both, really hoping for a better month for october lol
I honestly think if you didn’t think about the knockemout series as stand-alones (which they’re totally not) but rather an an interconnected series then you might not hate the “subplots” and continued plot lines of the other characters carrying over into Things We Left Behind. It makes way more sense as a trilogy. The plot line that begins in the first book is still being figured out by the end of the third book.
The way you talk about books like summer sisters and firefly lane literally made me hop on here in the comments to make sure you’ve seen the movie “Now & Then”… cause if not… I’m telling you… you would LOVE it!!! ❤❤
I read 18 books in August and only like 4 in September like whatt🤯 alsoo i can wait for the Acotar vlog because i still have some books in TOG left to finish before starting Acotar 🥲but on the other hand i am really excited for Harry Potter one because i am currently reading the series too !!!!! 🪄still ,no pressure des❤
Don't worry about it. Read Harry Potter when you're ready. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to hear what you think about Halloween Party by Agatha Christie. I love her books. I am also a book snob as well.
As a DIE HARD harry potter fan, I am so okay with you mood reading HP. I would much rather it be an enjoyable experience when you have the energy to read them, read them for you, don't read them for only us queen! ❤
If you enjoyed Summer Sisters, you should check out the My Brilliant Friend series by Elena Ferrante 💕 I’m sooooooooo looking forward to the HP video 🥹
I'm currently listening to None of This is True on audible. It is extremely well produced, and I think it take the story to a whole new level. Highly recommend.
Destiny, i usually see your videos but never comment 😂 but i felt the need to do it because of what you said about Potter. You should never do or read anything that you don't feel like doing. If these books don't click with you, just don't read them or do so whenever you feel like it. Just don't feel anxious to. We're gonna still watch you videos ❤ Gotta say, i'm a big fan of Potter, i was born in the 90s and i grew up with those kids and books so for me its a soft spot 😂 but, if you don't its okay. I dont like twilight and my generation love it so 😅 we're all free.
I’m not disappointed about Harry Potter, I’d rather you read it when you want and enjoy it ❤

Hoping the TBR Game returns! It was so fun!
Every Day that Destiny posts is a great day!
You’re going to enjoy it so much more when you’re in the mood for it! It’s 80 in Michigan today, so definitely not fall vibes.

Thank you for being the only person ever that doesn't actually spoil books and tell me everything about it before I actually read the book.
