- Halo 3 in 2024 is still an incredible game and Halo MCC for that fact is a great FPS to play this year. What's next for Halo MCC though now that developer support seems to be coming to a close. Is there a future where the community can still play a role in adding and growing the content available within the game? In this Halo 3 video we will talk about the future of Halo MCC in 2024, the MCC population, and how moving forward the scene can take the reigns of MCC to hopefully add some of the incredible modded content that the community has been creating. @@neversnitchbroI can argue the sandbox is bigger in Halo 3 and has a larger variety of maps, but the speed and precise hit reg of Halo 2 is still favored among many.
The main things I want is modded maps and automatic team shuffling options in CCB. I feel like more people would play more traditional modes like Flag, Bomb, and Invasion in CCB if teams shuffled after each match. Lobby with those modes usually have only one team winning and the other team constantly quitting, then the lobby dies. If matchmaking ever dies out in MCC it would be nice to have an option of starting a custom game lobby with the few people left who want to play. All the battlefield games do this, Plutonium for Cod does this too. Everyone uses the server browser to find games in those older games
Also a lot of the sweats hate pub stomping, but ranked is dead. If the CCB had proper shuffling, I think it could alleviate social matchmaking from some of the insanely good players.

The main thing I still really want from MCC is the ability to play mods in the customs browser. There's so many cool MP mods that I rarely ever get to play because getting a group together to play mods is a pain in the ass. I basically only stick with campaign mods because of it. Despite that, I still love MCC. Just a much more chill and fun experience compared to Infinite. Also, projectile-based weapons (including the BR) are better. Some maps in Halo 3, like Sandtrap, would just suck if you could get beamed from across the map really easily.

I still play MCC weekly, even if it’s just grinding the PVE challenges to help my max rank grind. 15 levels left!
But even if we get no actual new content added to MCC, I’d love a community led team just to fix lingering bugs and help bring the game more on par with the legacy versions of the game. Fixing broken cutscenes and lighting, fixing hit reg in CE and H2, etc. New maps would just be a bonus. And the big want for me is crossplay between Xbox and pc for ALL campaigns, not just H3 and ODST.
I will always go back to MCC around once a month. How’s the ranked grind been for you? For me it’s been rather frustrating in terms of matchmaking and team balancing unfortunately. Curious if you’re getting teammates who are getting slammed while you are dominating or at least breaking even.
It was pretty good last season, I soloqued up to D4 from D1 (I played a few weeks on and off, so probably a total of like 7 days in matchmaking or so). And most of the teammates were in that D1- low onyx range, some plats occasionally but I felt like the system was running decently. However since the new season, it's a train wreck, Onyx - gold players all spread out, I had quitters in most placements, sitting I think plat 5 now and working my way back up. It honestly was really fun playing again in those plat lobbies as you don't get punished hardly EVER for poor positioning and bad decision making. You can get away with so much more at that level. I think social mmr is influencing things more than previous season, I haven't read if Tashi or the team have a new official statement, but plenty of pros were tweeting about it as well. Honestly I just want to get good practice in and try to grow, so I'll keep playing. How about yourself?

A lot of people may perfer Reach but imo 3 + ODST has a special place in my heart. Simplistic yet beautiful graphics and designs, no sprint, great sandbox, forge being a fun addition and much more.
is there still custom game modes? maps? jenga, duck hunt, garbage disposale

I used to play religiously a decade plus ago, played MCC when it first dropped, now for the last week im back. God i missed Halo lol Not as fun as it used to be, but thats because the community is much, much smaller. I cant find any ranked matches unless I'm running woth someone else. I just want to play doubles solo. That was jam.
Also, it seems the map shuffle is broken. Its always standoff, sandstrap, longshore; and so on. Give me the good maps lol

Just get MCC, the Master Chief Collection, you get the original trilogy plus Reach. I think ODST you pay for but it's like $3 add on or something cheap. Campaign and multiplayer's are included. You can play it on PC, Xbox One, or the new series s or X.
I still play halo mcc.. I turned off cross play.. too many cheaters on pc using xim and chronus hitting nothing but headshots with the sniper rifle.. what I would like to see.. is more double xp events.. they need to turn that on indefinitely takes too long to rank up.. maybe will see an influx of players again..

@@BBKDRAGOON I'm being realistic here in saying that Prime 4 would probably be out for late 2025 or early 2026. Geez I remember when it was announced along with Samus Returns back in 2017, the Metroid community was rejuvinated. Thankfully we had Dread since then.
