So I've been in the vocaloid community so long that it kinda bugs me that lately everyone has been saying that this song is like one sided love when i remember it to be about the girl not believing the guy really loved her and she felt like the relationship was unfulfilled but with him singing with her and putting I love you on the plate it was shown that he did love her he was just bad at expressing it. I know the original video got taken down and the original artist has taken down there account but still...
@@SuperLuckynumber007 I completely agree. I have just noticed a shift in the interpretation since someone made a video that showcases an abusive relationship. Nothing wrong with the video, well made and people are allowed to make fan videos. However, I have seen some people state that they thought that fan video was the original and therefore the original message.
People really be saying this is about an unfulfilled relationship but i disagree. The last bit where"i love you" is written on the plate and "there's always seconds" feels crucial somehow. It feels more like them never getting enough of each other. As in, of course to some capacity they will always feel unfulfilled by themselves, and that's why theyre a pair. It's kinda bittersweet song but feels warm to me all in all. Kinda like a co-dependence type of loving.
I think it's more about a girl who thinks her boyfriend doesn't love her, but when he puts "I love you" on the plate, she realizes that he does love her, but is not good at expressing his feelings.
I was in a co-dependent relationship for two years and I agree. This song makes my heart feel so heavy, it really reminds me of my ex boyfriend. I was extremely dependent on him, constantly wanted to be with him, and could barely do anything on my own. I was simply a shell of a person without him. He was like the guy in this song, questioning it and trying to help me. I still remember one of our last conversations where he told me that he felt the same way for someone he met a year before we met. That he still hadn’t gotten over her. I was completely dependent on him as a source of all my happiness and love so seeing that he didn’t feel the same way was heartbreaking. I was like the girl in this song, dedicated to the relationship and thought it would last forever. We were two parts of a whole, after all. We’d simply be broken if we were apart. He, on the other hand, loved me but was apathetic a lot of the time. Always questioning why we were together, what we had done to deserve each other, and how I could be so empty without him. We broke up in February of 2022. Ever since we broke up I’ve slowly been healing. I used to think about him every day and now it’s once a week or less. Sometimes I do still feel like I can’t do anything without him, and when that happens I listen to this song and it helps. It’s a beautiful song that can be interpreted in so many ways, and I love that. Sorry about the long ass comment but I can’t talk about this to anyone in my life and I really just need to get it out there. Thanks to anyone who actually real all of this, i hope y’all have a lovely day
"An empty shampoo bottle; Garbage bag full of trash. Which would you prefer? Neither?" Which do you want, an empty relationship of fake words, or one so unfiltered that it becomes toxic?
People say they prefer the other versions of this song because the original sounds too robotic. But personally, I think the original is better. It somehow gave me chills and goosebumps even though I don’t really understand it. And the feeling kind of hurts, it makes me feel emotional
This song hurts beautifully when I listen to it because of how close it it hits to home.....I believe this song is about being raised in a emotionally neglectful circumstance and how hard it is to recover and maintain healthy- non fantasized relationships with other people afterward. How many kids, teens and young adults go out to find something that’ll make them feel whole, and fill their empty childhood. Ultimately avoiding the noticeable incompleteness of the perfection they sought when the relationship turns out to be unhealthy and one sided.
They say "yueni" (part where Miku's covering her face) which translates to "forever." It's a play on "you and me" and the Japanese term used for "forever" here.
I actually happen to be here from a NicoNico animation for Kiibo's birthday! But unlike many comments saying "Look where I came here from", I'd just like to say that I love this song and enjoy the fact that it can be applied to a lot of different things. My personal take on it is that this song is about love and the sacrifices we make for it. It can be any sort of love, honestly. Unrequited, hidden, as deredere an adoration as possible... Love takes many different forms, and can even be platonic. I especially attached this meaning to the stanzas where the "You And Me" chorus is accompanied by different experiences, and the moment wherein they discuss shunning and the fact that all humans are selfish in varying amounts. I also think this song is about someone learning that even if something seems unfilled, not to just get rid of it. Like the first few lyrics says, it's not filled completely because you can then get seconds. You can't take something not yet filled out for granted when the opportunity to go for more is also there for you. I made translyrics for this song, but I don't think anyone will be using them. (Unless you want to, I can just reply to this with my translyrics in case anyone wants them. Writing this while viewing the video, I think I'll do just that. I'll be in a reply so this comment isn't ungodly long.

I think this is about a girl madly in love with her partner, but the partner has been so hurt in the past that he can't accept the love he receives and cant help but question it. She keeps on affirming that they are a pair in love and that they're made for each other, but he just cannot bring himself to trust her words and explains it to her, so she repeats "you and me rabu rabu" again and again so he can learn how to accept it, and every time he does that he gives out some new questions that show his past wounds, troubles and doubts to verify that she will know his feelings and will not let him go. The girl listens, responds again and again, sometimes gets heartbroken over it (because at some point she even asks herself if they'll stay in love forever) but then she makes up her mind and repeats that they will forever be together, and that the reason why they feel like they don't have enough love, is because they still have lots to experience with it.
I go around and around to find some good songs tthat Miku duet with a male vocal then I find this one. I didn't know Fuuki before but I think I'm in love with FuukiMiku now ;;; v ;;;
I think they love each other, but it's hard for both of them to show it. Miku spends the song criticizing the guy's living conditions, but when he asks "What do you know, and what will you choose?" she replies "You and me, lovey-dovey." And the plate at the end has "I love you" scribbled on it. I think that's why Fuuki doesn't fill up her plate at the beginning, he wants her to see that message.
Reil Gan The entire song makes this sound like the love is one-sided. Not only does the translated words of the artist in the description seem to hint at this, the entire song just screams one-sided. The pot (their entire love) has a hole in it, the curry has no meat (the "tasty" part of love that the relationship lacks), and unfulfilled relationship, the empty dish signifying how empty the companion's love is. So the quote, "You chose this, so it's ironic how you're shunned like a ghost," just shows that the lover chooses to uselessly love his/her companion, only to not get that love back.
Reil Gan An unfulfilled relationship.* Lemme rephrase the dish part: the empty dish is either how empty the phrase "I love you" is, or the dish represents the amount of love the companion has--which is none.
scarletgrl The guy without weak points could just be exceptionally stoic. He's not necessarily unloving. Just hard to read. Right after the second "An unfulfilled relationship," there's the line "But you see, that's not correct." Whether you view the following lines as the girl speaking, or the girl quoting the guy, the singer refers to both of them as being ghosts. Both of them look like they're shunning each other. Fuuki joins in singing the last "Forever" chorus with Miku. Not as loudly as her, but he's still definitely there, with her. Saying the actual words, and not just humming along. Their relationship is flawed- there's holes, it's not as tasty as it could be- but they're still both trying to make it work. As for the empty plate, well, there's still enough curry for seconds.
in response to the original question: it's really complicated. just because someone doesn't love you back doesn't mean they're gonna be really awful to you. for example, two long-time friends could start dating, but while one person loves the other with all their heart, the other just wants things to go back to how it was when they were friends. it's sad, and one of the most heartbreaking ways for a relationship to end (since you cant really be mad at the other person). and yeah I know im four years late, I just wanted to leave my mark in the comment section. XD
I don't really appreciate the fact that people discovered this only when someone made a DBH animatic- I don't know why but something about people saying 'Who came from Detroit: Become Human?' or some other phrase that involves the videogame, bothers me. It's probably just me so please ignore my comment if you don't appreciate my opinion about the commentary. Edit: don't get me wrong, I loved the animatic a lot so I don't have anything against it.
DovahHolmes personally, yeah, I’m tired of The “Who came from” comments on pretty much anything but I’m glad people make things like animatics and stuff portraying different characters because it gives more exposure but again, I fully agree with your points.
I didn't had the canon event of thinking a Renai Circulation cover was the original, but i definitely thought Kiwi's version of Therefore you and me was the original.
Absolutely one my favorite Vocaloid song, i always like the original version. There's this vibe i couldn't get from Eve's cover, like the emptiness vibe (Maybe because it sounds robotic, idk) but both are good at the end of the day!

i think this song is about growing up abused, then abusing someone else u love when u get older then she dies im not stupid EITHER THAT or the chick is abusing the dude but they grew up together so the dude doesnt wanna admit it
It's depends on how to interpret the meaning & the relationship of these characters (since the lyrics can be pretty ambiguous & can lead to multiple interpatations). The Song can be heartwarming, sad or even bitter sweet. It all depends on how you choose to see the lyrics

True (W chico pfp)
The robotic feel to it can be seen through as some glitter to their called love, reconsidering their vocaloid characters
There's something about it that adds on the whole emptiness of the relationship portrayed in the song.

XD
This song & it's meaning really resonated with me. It is a piece of me now. Therefore it is a piece of I I I. Pie.
こういう曲好き。

Who came from their mom? No? Ok.
look, i agree but the Detroit: become human animation is great
True I can't believe that video has more views than this video
yes and im lowkey pissed off
at least its more exposure for tadano co
I didn't had the canon event of thinking a Renai Circulation cover was the original, but i definitely thought Kiwi's version of Therefore you and me was the original.
Who came here just because you know this exists?
Absolutely one my favorite Vocaloid song, i always like the original version. There's this vibe i couldn't get from Eve's cover, like the emptiness vibe (Maybe because it sounds robotic, idk) but both are good at the end of the day!
god, miku u are the best 😻😻😊🎵

This song somehow sounds sad...
Is it supposed to be a sad song?
Snowflakez yes its about an unfulfilled or unrequited relationship.
@@HINAYUTA ooooh okay thanks :)
It's depends on how to interpret the meaning & the relationship of these characters (since the lyrics can be pretty ambiguous & can lead to multiple interpatations). The Song can be heartwarming, sad or even bitter sweet. It all depends on how you choose to see the lyrics
there is a zipper on where her heart is :(
