The estradiol in Oestrogel is derived from the Yam not chemicals. All transdermal estrogen (patches, gels and sprays) are from the yam plant as it provides “body identical” estradiol.

Hello. Just for clarification. Premarin was used in WHI 2003.
Progestin (not bio identical progesterone ) was used.
Poorly designed study disproved by subsequent researchers

You should! It’s the number one hormone essential for women!!! Post$menopause, all women’s estrogen levels are at “O”!!! That’s the definition of post-menopause! Sadly, most doctors are ignorant to this fact! Check out “Menopause Taylor”….she will educate you on HRT and then some!

For those wondering if HRT will help you lose weight: my HRT doctor has said no, HOWEVER, hormone replacement will help with brain fog, motivation, stamina in daily life (like getting washed/dressed), improve sleep, help the stomach process food, and help the mind function to have the energy to shop and eat healthy. For the weight loss with with HRT, it helps you function so you can lose weight by having the energy, stamina, etc to put yourself on an exercise regime and proper diet regime. All those are impossible to do when testosterone is very low or practically gone. My testosterone is more or less gone at the tested level of .186 .

Did you get on Testosterone? I think women need 30 to 70 ng/dL total T and 0.6 to 2.1 ng/dL free T to feel good. Im a man and my total T is > 1500 ng/dL and my free T is about 30 ng/dL. Im taking a ridiculously high amount of testosterone-cypionate of 40 mg/day every day.

@nememel1 thanks for spelling it out so precisely. That’s exactly what hrt has been doing for me.
Gave me the motivation and will to be organized enough to stay healthy. God send.

From personal experience, I can tell you estrogen does build body mass as well as make major changes in what the brain thinks. This is transgender HRT with Spirolactone for a testosterone blocker so I do have softer muscles, but am no longer under weight. The mental state pretty much took away any thoughts of sex until progesterone was introduced and instead has me wanting to snug everything that is cute such as puppies and kittens. The long lasting emotional state is a major improvement and I am wondering if this is what happens with cis women as well. I have also been warned about the blood clot risk of synthetic estrogen and how nicotine can increase this risk.
I am also a trans female in my 40s, low income and on Colorado Medicaid and live with no human help in my life.
