Yah Ive learned a thing or two over the years lol. When I was young I actually went to Ironworker school to join the apprenticeship. But ended up going back into concrete but also only worked for people in commercial concrete and performed all phases from form work, rebar, and finishing. Super blessed to have worked and learned that way because it definitely gave me a lot of options and not to only be limited to one skill when there are so many to be a true concrete mason.
highly impressed man i been goin nuts on your videos i thought i was the fastestest at rebar but your up there with me which i never see. and i dont even think im that fast
When doing snap ties If you cross your arms before you pass the wire behind the bar you get an extra twist in the wire..... meaning holding the pliers in your right hand pass the wire around the right side of the bar and grab the wire with your pliers (being held with your right hand) on the left side of the bar
Thanks bro I've learned how to tie rebar doing commercial concrete for half of my career of 22 years. Pliers and a tie wire wheel are the only way in my eyes
We in Australia use end cutters nips which is faster than pliers and we don't use snap ties they are dangerous as it snaps while pouring concrete we use caulties and bolts with use form ply and 4×3 timbers witch stronger
@@thatjuanshow4485 everyone likes residential but commercial is the way to go if I was just a finisher not an owner I believe, benefits ect ect overtime lol
I've used tie wire guns my opinion on them is there way to expensive for what they can do . Your limited to only one style tie and they don't tie very tight the jam a lot and if you are going to use them it's best to only use them on slabs so a tight tie don't matter as much. I think wire wheel and Kline pliers and the only way to go. I've had people use them in a commercial work setting and had the inspector call us out on sloppy ties. Just my opinion
Ive poured concrete around rusty rebar my whole career. I think as long as it is only surface rust not scaling rust its good to go. Never had an inspection fail for that either or ecen mentioned by the inspector. Hope this helps have a good day
Hey Juan, I apologize for all the ties that you rodbusters made that I undid trying to get my electrical boxes, stub-up pipes, or sleeves in.😅 Hey bro, the job would be boring with out the rodbusters.
Hey Sean, as a retired Rodbuster with 30yrs in I'd just like to apologize for all the boxes and conduit we smashed and kicked out of our way on PT decks because Sparky put that shit down before they were supposed to.....said no rodbuster ever...
Check out my other vids I'm pretty good at bar and the process. I'm pretty sure I tied it first while my buddy started the panels. But either way thanks for watching
That's because it wasn't 100% yet . We still had a bit more work to do before being pour ready like putting the rest of the shoes on the snap ties , shoot grade , straighten wall ext . Thanks for watching though 👍🏼
Dammit boi. Ur a concrete finisher and a Rodbuster? Ur the man

Im glad it was worthwhile thanks for watching. And the weather is beautiful over here today!

Heck yeah bro! I've tied so much steel in my life I always like tying up post tension decks. Run them cabels and most everything done under a crane
Hello Juan, this is the best video I have seen on YT covering rebar tying. Thanks a lot for this video and keep it up!
Thanks bud I appreciate that! Subscribe to my channel for more content to come . Much appreciation
Thank you for demonstating ties at slow speed. When you are tying at your normal speed it was too fast for me to learn from. Im a novice.

Good job, I'm very intrastated it’s work.
Been awhile since I've watched a whole video. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Thank you for your information!
You busting rods 🤟🏾you ain’t a wire twister 🌪 your a rod buster 🖤🖤

@9:35 that's some shoddy concrete work.
🤣🤣
i´m From Brazil, like you video.
Wow that's awesome thanks for watching my video! Make sure to subscribe have a great day 👍🏼

That’s cuz you aussies don’t no how to to make a good snap tie. A snap tie done properly won’t break under concrete...
Thanks so much very helpful
Damn dude 10k views, wow is this yur best video? Great video even though I don't do comercial
I've always been on both sides of concrete commercial and residential I prefer residential flat work but like commercial money
@@thatjuanshow4485 everyone likes residential but commercial is the way to go if I was just a finisher not an owner I believe, benefits ect ect overtime lol
Have u ever used a wire tie gun? I never have cuz we don't really use rebar around here

@@thatjuanshow4485 I've never used 1 b4. I have used twirls though, they don't get tight at all
you did great job...
Excellent job... I learnt a lot
Thank you glad it helped!
Fascinating.
Is there an issue if the rebar starts rusting before you pour?

@@thatjuanshow4485 Appreciate that. Yeah, just surface rust from the time the steel is delivered and the concrete is poured.
I would’ve set templates with the verticals every so often then lace up the horizontals then fill it in . So your don’t do double the ties.
Good idea I'll keep that in mind👍🏼
Was looking for this comment. Then the wall is more solid with even less ties, that’s how we do it in the field.
I’m just North of you, man. Are you in the union?
No non union
What number bar is that 4?
Yes the bar for that was #4 bar 60 grade
Tie the horizontals to the dowels first.
Your a very heavy breather Juan
That's what it sounds like when a man is working haha
Ahh ok I wouldn’t know

you Hiring > ?
I dont work in that area anymore but my friend i was helping in this video probably is
Why would you build the outside and then do the rebar? So you’re not screwing yourself from walking around in circles
Check out my other vids I'm pretty good at bar and the process. I'm pretty sure I tied it first while my buddy started the panels. But either way thanks for watching
you did not teach me a ding-dong thing...show your work.
Face the rainbow bowed panel inside when stacking
Thanks for the great input!
Anyone of the street can learn to tie rebar in a day. Even if a tie is poorly tied its still good enough. Most overrated trade.
Even ur snap ties are loose
