I purchased your Iceland itinerary and it has come so handy for our trip. I don’t know what we would have done without it. It is so thorough and well planned. Thank you so much!!!
We're planning a trip to Iceland in November. Your videos have been very helpful. I just added Lóndrangar at sunset to our itinerary.
Girl you’re just as amazing as Iceland, thanks for make this world better. Saludos desde Mexico!!!! 🙌🏻
We watched this and several of Jeanie's other videos while planning and on our trip to Iceland. She's an awesome guide and really helped us make the most of our trip. Highly recommend her videos!
Watching this video while planning my second trip to Iceland. I just got home from Iceland today!
It's been a couple weeks since I discovered your channel, while planning my second visit to Iceland! And It is amazing and so thorough! I went on early March, four years ago, so winter was still present and when I reached Snaefellness I got a storm day. But I still loved it, all the birds flying in the middle of Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge captivated me. I even walked up a little bit in Snæfellsjökull, but the wind and snow were hitting like crazy, so I chickened out and went back! But even that experience was amazing. I love Iceland, my favorite country visited by far. I am from Costa Rica, so no snow, no glaciers, no ice caves... You can imagine my face through all my hikes! Love your channel!
Such a great video tutorial! Planning my one day trip there in January! Thanks!
I'm watching this from the Arnapstapi Hotel cottages. Annnd the Northern Lights are out! The whole area is beautiful, I particularly enjoyed the Ölkelduvatn mineral spring (filled a giant bottle of carbonated water!) and caught Ingjaldshólskirkja shortly after sunset, which looked beautiful lit up with the setting sun and Snæfellsjökull in the back.
I missed the museum. This is a delightful memory of my experience.
Thanks for revealing the gem Búdir. When I visit next year, this certainly seems like it will be one of the highlights. Oh, and thank you for the 10-day, Ring Road, Golden Circle, Snaefellsnes Peninsula itinerary. It gives me such comfort knowing travel times and how long I might expect for each site.
Great list. You mentioned there are other sights and one I would highlight is the Saxholl crater. It’s a fun walk up a staircase that’s shaped to the contour of the crater, and then you have an epic view of the area from the top. It’s near the “tip” of the peninsula between Skardsvik and Djupalonssandur.
Loved this area of Iceland and went to 7 of the 10 places you mentioned and others that you hadn’t. I can’t place a favourite as it’s a wonderful area as a whole.
Excited to see the black church, the gorge and the pyramid!
Checking this for my next 20 days in Iceland! Good info! 👍🏻
Can’t wait ...going May 23rd on 1 day private photography tour of this peninsula with someone born & raised there! Black Church & Cafe for sure!
We just traveled their a few weeks ago and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula was by far our favorite... we did see 8 of the 10 things you mentioned. Absolutely gorgeous ! Great video too.. thank you :-).
Snafellnes was our favorite part of Iceland. We loved the orange lighthouse in the National Park, and there is a great waterfall inland from Rif (ish) area. You DEFINITELY need 2 nights and 2 days in Snafellnes. We almost wish we had 3. By far the best 2 days of our trip. We also loved Vantajokull. We didn't make it to the West Fjords or the North, so maybe next time!
I saw the last two. Just went to Iceland last month. I really enjoyed it.
I am getting married in Arnapstapi in October 2019! I cannot wait to see all of Snaefellsnes Peninsula's wonders!
Congratulations! That will be amazing! Thank you for sharing and for watching! :)
I'm most excited to see the Svörtuloft Lighthouse.. on the edge of the world, looking out into the vast ocean.
Snaefellsnes sounds something from JV's book journey to the centre of the earth
.. Wow Iceland you rock
Love your videos and I can't wait to try the walk through the lava field and that little church looks so cute!! We go this month!! But probably will only have 1 day in Snaefellsness Peninsula.
My favorite is Kirkjufell + falls :)
Every places but the gorge seems thebest!
We love your videos. We went to Iceland this past March and loved it. Returning in November with a focus on Snaelfellnes. We are hopeful to see the Northern lights this time. Thank you for your helpful information.
Budir is my favorite place in snafellsness peninsula. It’s so beautiful :)
Just returned from a trip earlier in the month but didn’t have time to do Snaefellsnes or Westfjords but planning to return in 2023 to do both, will spend at least two days in the area with a 4 x4. As a photographer I’m so looking forward to Kirkufell ⛰
Absolutely, those places are must see for photography you will love it!
Thank you so much for this video, Jeannie! I just got back from 2 weeks in Iceland and this helped us plan our time in Snaefellsnes brilliantly. The weather was amazingly cooperative the whole time we were there. Even when it wasn't sunny, the clouds seemed to put on a show for us with Snaefellsnes as the stunning backdrop. The one thing I regret is due to poor planning, we did NOT give it the two days as you recommended. We saw a LOT in one day... but you were right; 2 days is better! Please, keep up the fantastic job. I enjoy every video.
You are so welcome! Happy to help! I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip! :)
The gorge looks so amazing! I'm definitely into waterfalls inside a cave too!! Great video thank you!! I love all your videos!
Hey Jeanie,
Not far from Arnastapi on the side of the road was a fantastic waterfall that my wife and I hiked up to. I can’t recall the name of the falls, but it was my favorite in all of Iceland. Also Stykkisholmur was truly a wonderful little town. The grade school in town had a neat little ninja warrior course that my kids loved. I absolutely loved Iceland. I can’t wait to return. Take care. I love your videos.
Oh wow! Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much for the kind words!!
Coming next week...Looks like we have most of them in the itinerary! Might need to rework it a bit! Doing Camping Bordeyri, Stykkisholmur, Kirkjufell, Hellisandur Camping, Djupalonssandur Beach, Londrangur, Fjoruhisid cafe, Bardar Saga, Raudfeldsgja, budakirkja and down to Bjarteyjarsandur!!
Sadly only have 1 and a bit days to do Snaefellsnes but will do what I can fit in. Thankfully in July I can make the most of all the daylight...who needs sleep anyway?
I would like to do the walk from Arnarspati to Hellnar. And stop at the little cafe for snacks.
I'm thinking about going to see Kirkufell on the way back from Switzerland and seeing it's "big brother" Matterhorn.
Hello Jeannie, my wife and are coming to Iceland in November. Looking forward to sharing a special meal at Fjoruhusio cafe. Thanks a million for sharing one of your favorites. Love your channel on UA-cam. Bill, Pittsburgh, PA.
wow jeannie great to see u doing this much detailed itenerary in iceland particularly in snaefelsnes peninsula..i could hav used this as a guide last year when i was there. i would want to explore stykkisholmur next tym as we skipped it last tym and also the rocks and lava hike at arnarstapi ..we ddnt stay longer due to rain haizz..if we ever get to visit iceland again im pretty sure id watch all your great videos and tips . 👍
Hi Jeanie. I like your videos and I am going to test it out next week.
I wonder if the cafe still open? What is the exact name of it?
The best cafe in Snæfellsnes - Fjöruhúsið café. It's closed for the winter so you'll have to come back in the summer to enjoy their delicious food!
Hi Jennie thanks for the information.I am planning to visit Iceland in Dec 2022.Perhaps there may not be much time to visit all the places in Snaefellsness but i will be making another trip next year to vist all the beautiful scenic places. Can you please a video on Top 10 places to vist in East South North and west of Iceland .In that way we would know that we have covered all the important places. If you have a email for your company that will be useful to know.best wishes. The Black Church is fantastic.
Thanks so much for watching! All of the best stops and "Jeannie's Gems" can be found in my guidebooks and on my digital maps. 🗺 I also point out where to find the toilets and where you can grab a bite to eat, so you can make the most of your day exploring! icelandwithaview.com/product-category/diy/

I've always wanted to get married at the black church! Or any Icelandic church! They're all so charming. I have s file full of photos of all of them! This would be one of my many things to see in Iceland!
Skarðsvík, one of my favorite place :)
how do you spell the name of that cafe? would love to stop there
When I went to Raudfelsgja it was full of people 😂. You could have mentioned the Ytri-Tunga beach, where you're able to spot some seals. The day I went there was just one seal in the whole area, but she let me approach really close to her and It was an amazing experience
great video,,but you are right,, this peninsula has some breathtaking spots that aren't in the video!!!! actually I stayed at the Fosshotel steps behind that coffee house and I didn't see it!!! can't wait to go back!!!!
Thank you so much for all your wonderful information. Snaefellsnes Peninsula look amazing! Question: Do you recomend us to book the trips before we arrive there? We will arrive on July 19th. Please let us know! THANK YOU Jeannie?
Make a Askja tour video! Thanks!
I'm leaving Iceland tomorrow. And I used some of your tips while here :-) I completely misjudged driving here though haha. I had a hostel in eskifjdour for ONE night so I basically spent two days driving 😐😐 nonetheless I got to see cool places along the south coast and the fjords of the east were beautiful. Definitely want to come back and do the west and North side. I think the Highlands would be later down the road when I become more adventurous 😉 keep up the good work Jeannie. You're doing a good service 😄😄
Hi! I love your videos, we are travelling this July with husband, baby and a 4 year old girl. I love the gorge and the waterfall inside the cave but do you think we would able to do it with a 4 year old kid? or the path can be really difficult? I must say she walked nearly 8km per day with 3 years old in our last holidays but I'm concern about the safety of the path. Thanks!
Hi jeannie. Could you print out the name of that little cafe near the water you mentioned. I couldn't get it from the video. Thanks
Wait what is the cafe called?
If we were to do this in two days, does it make sense to drive back and forth from Reykjavik? I'm going in September/October and I cannot wait!
It would be better to stay on the peninsula about half way just for efficiency sake! driving back and forth takes a lot of time out of the day.
Do you feel like this is okay to do the first week of March? I have 3 extra days unplanned and was thinking this would be a good idea, but not sure if the roads are normaly open
My wife and I are off to Iceland for the first time in mid November next year (booked it yesterday). We’re staying for 7 days and will be based in Reykjavik. Do you think that the road to Snaefellsnes will be drivable? Love your videos! 👍👍👍
Jeanie, do you think that going over an IKEA catalog would help me with the pronunciation?
on google the shark museum says its temporary closed. do you know if its still closed? if that is still true?
Would this area be ok to visit in October?
Hi I’m cristina from Mexico and i will be in Iceland the first two weeks of November.. I was planning on renting a car and going through the whole ring road but I’ve been reading this is not possible because of weather... does anyone have a clue if in two weeks can I make the whole ring?
Two weeks is what I recommend for the Ring Road!! I hope you have the best trip ever!
Would the Snaefellsnes Peninsula being drivable in October, or are the roads usually treacherous by that point?
Would this be okay to drive in January?
Please talk about the price I would love to know
What’s the name of the restaurant I’m going next week . I can’t find it on google 😒
Are these locations accessible with a 2WD?
Yes, we toured the Snaefellsnes Peninsula and visited all of these sights with a Hyundai compact hatchback. You will need to hike a little from parking areas however.
I passed from Snaefellsnes the first day in Iceland but I didn't visit any of these places 😥😥
😍😍😍😍
Which place are you the most excited to see on your trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula?!
I live in stykkishólmur, you forgot berserkjahraun lavafield and my favorite place: Öndverðanes. But you should have mentioned, never wak to close to the waterline, because ppl drowned already in iceland because of this. Nice video =)
#11 Saxholl Crater
We are going to do this exactly the way you say :-)
Thx for this vlog! All of them
Hopefully we also win the FlyingIceland tix giveaway. DAVE Canfield:-)
Did u just forget three towns between Kirkjufell and Arnarstapi Ólafsvík, Rif and Hellisandur?
You got a full bowl of fish stew for $27.50, ours was only half full.
My favourite is londranger
The cafe. For my next trip. My first trip (coming up) will only be for a couple of days and I'm doing basic Reykjavik and the Blue Lagoon.
Yes I have!! I was there 11th to 13th October. I was in Europe for 3 weeks, and Iceland was the country I stayed the least at. It was a primary visit and I intend to go back, the next time, for a week. WHAT AN AWESOME COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!! I am the biggest promoter of Iceland where I live. I tell everyone: "don't die before you go to Iceland".
The Black Church.
Cool, i think you would like my music for your videos as well, perhaps you would be intersted to use my music for your next video? Liked and followed, thank you!
Hæ Jeannie ég hef svo gaman að fylgjast með þér myndböndin eru svo flott hjá þér og þú segir svo skemmtilega frá. Takk fyrir
Wow are you a chiropractor?
snae"
This is amazing - but please do not promote eating shark :( Please follow Ocean Ramsey for more information and lets help these apex preditors thrive
The Sad moment for the fisherman was in bad taste. Why bother with it with your happy music behind and let’s say poor attempt at a prayer and silence 👎
Six years old video lol 😂
without the corny fakey cringe would help me to watch
6 days and I'll be there! Thank you so much for all the great info. I hope to put it all to good use!
I'm planning a trip in August 2024 and looking for ideas along the way. Thanks. It all looks so beautiful.
