I am visiting this fall. This is a GREAT old video. Thanks for putting this up. Just dark and vintage enough to be semi creepy. Think of all the poor people that had to die there.
i heard (and please don't quote me on this i've never been ther myself)that if you go to the kitchen at night you can smell them cooking dinner and hear the banging of pans. p.s. great vid wher'd u find it?
When he said that, I seriously had to stop what I was doing and ask, out loud, "This was supposed to get people to come there??" lmao, this guy sounds like Vincent Price..
Nothing is frightening by the narrator's voice, of course if your are a strong believer that the place is now hauted, and if you'll go there, then maybe yes, it's scary but that's only because your mind is affected.
This puts a different light on the place. Makes it look less creepy. But it is just media, I mean the crypts and the death tunnel and all that must of being sad and gave a really dark feeling. But it looks like not all of the building was death. I guess that's why it isn't considered one of the MOST creepiest places out there.
This Sanatorium reminds me of the House on Haunted Hill's haunted hospital. Those sterile white nurse uniforms, those creepy old fasion doctors with their surgery uniforms...creepy.
this is sooo sad I agree iv seen ghost adventers they got some really cool stuff for some reason thias place sticks to my mind I guess I just felt soo bad for the people
its realy sad to see some kid`s ghost you actualy think of the sad momments they lived ,GOD knows how much they suffered....what is the story behind this building ???
if your thinking of a mental asylum, then no. Sanatorium originally meant a hospital for a long term-illness, in this case TB. Today with so many illnesses explained and the advancement of medicine, mental issues are what seen now as most long-term, and thus the use of sanatorium became linked with mental institutions.
And it's that graffiti and vandalism that caused the place to become so dilapidated. There were pictures taken of it in 1990 before the place got horribly vandalized, and it actually was in very good shape. Now they're spending god knows how much trying to restore it little by little because of people that did things like vandalize. Nothing good came of it other than making it look creepy as a result of immature children.
Sadly though, unless you've had a bit of education on Waverly Hills, the movie fucking blows because they don't give you the little bit of information that parts of the movie are based off of things that have been documented as having happened. It all just comes across as fuckin' random ghost encounters by a bunch of stupid kids trying to make their own version of a reality show each year.
I LOVE HIS VOICE!
"Mmmmmm, smell those delicious loaves!"
Hes just so enthusiastic even though everyone is dying.XD

I know these Doctors were trying to help people back then but omg they look creepy as hell!
I went there back in July.
I LOVED IT.
I read the same thing. I heard that they put a rubber bag into the lungs and let some air in. There were very atrocious procedures.
yesterday i watched a special on tv, and that caused me intriguing moments... nice though! thank god we don't do that any longer!
i heard (and please don't quote me on this i've never been ther myself)that if you go to the kitchen at night you can smell them cooking dinner and hear the banging of pans.

the TB rate went down, which is when it turned into the nursing home. and then it was said that there was patient abuse so it was shut down.
a live saver for many the voice says!!!!!
that place is very haunted today.
It was a lifetaker for nearly all but 5% of the patients who were treated with it.
Me and some of my family are going up there next month to ghost hunt. Were renting it out for a full 8 hours to investigate were we want! I cant wait!
Just imagine many of the people you see in the video died there, and one of those little girls could be the one who haunts the halls.
Do you know that they actually tried replacing the lung with a balloon at one time to see if it worked?
When he said that, I seriously had to stop what I was doing and ask, out loud, "This was supposed to get people to come there??"
lmao, this guy sounds like Vincent Price..
ive been there for a tour its awsome man
I LOVE HIS VOICE!
"Mmmmm, smell those delicious loaves!"

90,000 beds in that place?
ive been here its rite down the street from me
O but it is! I think it is so worth the money to go there! You get so many vibes and i was there only an hour and saw at least 4 ghosts!
This puts a different light on the place. Makes it look less creepy. But it is just media, I mean the crypts and the death tunnel and all that must of being sad and gave a really dark feeling.

Great video, thanks for the upload.
That bit about the lungg procedure. Was that a lie? I've read somewhere that less than 5% of patients survived the procedure.
Man,just the sight of the good looking hearty well balanced diet makes me hungry!!
This Sanatorium reminds me of the House on Haunted Hill's haunted hospital. Those sterile white nurse uniforms, those creepy old fasion doctors with their surgery uniforms...creepy.
It's amazing how doctors went to drastic measure to try to heal future patients. It's creepy though, some of the things they performed on the sick.
i went here last night for a haunted house it was the scariest ever!!!
Were people really mistreated at this place? And ny whom?
why was waverly abandoned?.
Was that the real audio recording as I thought it had been redone no one could of sounded that strange an been serious.
Bloody well was not a lifesaver for many.
Yea this is one of the scariest places on earth ive been planning on getting ppl together to go
That bit about the lung operation. Was that a lie? Did many NOT recover fronm that?
Hard to believe there hasn't been any horror movies made here
omg they filmed a pneumo-thorax operation! jeez, that's creepy
My boyfriend and me are planning on spending the night at this place.
this is sooo sad I agree iv seen ghost adventers they got some really cool stuff for some reason thias place sticks to my mind I guess I just felt soo bad for the people
Medicine has changed, in todays time we spend most time trying to fix pneumothorax's from puncture wounds, etc.
what is loafs?
Just imagine, many of you ppl u see in that video died there, and one of those little girls could be the one who haunts the halls.

this place is so haunted today!!
I've walked the halls of Waverly Hills.
I love this place its so cool!
90,000 such beds?
That would explain the child ghosts that have been reported there...
right by east pages
that was a creepy voice:S And the pneumothorax treatment they had, killed more people then saved:S
It's weird to watch this and think of 1931 as "now days" and "new technology".
I love this vudeo

For cured patients who want to look for jobs, forget it! Welcome to the great depression.
