Thank you both for a very interesting video of your visit to the aviation museum in Lincs. Well timed with the VJ celebrations this weekend . Take care both C& S 👍xx
i was lucky enough to have a taxi run in just Jane in 2014 and have to say it still remains one the my best memories , i was in the cockpit behind the pilot as he struck up all 4 engines and took us out to the open field , he powered her up for a short run and then back to the runway .i will never forget the sound and feeling of those 4 engines pulling us along , what a huge privilege to sit in one of the few remaining lancasters , i would highly recommend visiting when there is an engine/taxi run , you wont ever be allowed to stand so close to lancaster with all 4 engines running ,awesome -)
The year they dropped all the poppy's down the Mall on Remembrance Sunday we saw them fly by that morning then we heard them coming back later that day, We stood like nutters waving like mad as the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane flew by again then suddenly they banked left I thought they were going to the Lincoln field, then they banked again flew real low over the house gave us a winged salute then flew on home. Fantastic! Was surprised they saw us waving made my Mums day and mine to be honest. I have never been to that museum I will be going for sure now. Great video thank you.
Hi Bob & Jenny, lived your vlog and it is a great place to visit. We have been a couple of times as it isn’t to far from us! It is amazing to see all the information the Centre have managed to obtain! TYFS. Sue & Brian👍🐶🐾😀
Loved the museum visit!! Absolutely fascinating, but sad. I remember when I was a child my dad, who was in charge of organising my Leatherhead school summer fete, got Barnes Wallis (of the bouncing bomb fame) to open the fete. I am still thrilled that he did and I’m 65! The famous Brooklands Museum is nearby, where the airfield and race track were. There’s a Barnes Wallis Way too in Byfleet.
bob and jen one of my favourite motorhome utubers, its like going out with your grandad and gran, love where they take us with these amazing videos - NEVER STOP doing this, thank you
@@BobEarnshawMoHo oh god, hope that didnt sound bad, you just reminde me of my grand parents taking me out almost every weekend and holiday time, brings back memories
Wow...brought a tear of joy to myself as I used to take my late father to places Like these sadly passed (2018) I never took him to here ...all the others mind you... I like your little videos long may they continue...cheers Bob and Jenny (oh and poppy) 👍
Hi bob great video ,I have been to the museum a couple of time it’s one of my favourites, pity you couldn’t get into coning/control tower it’s set up as it was in the 1940s
Hi Bob Less we forget! what sacrifices were made by our Parents and Grand parents, we just cant imagine the loss of life in order that we can live our life's as we like! Like Jenny's relations My Mum and Dad were both in the forces, and thank God they survived or I wouldn't have been here to enjoy your great videos. Cheers Bill
Really enjoyed watching this... you make us feel like we are actually there. We love looking around places like this, just wish that more would allow us to take the dogs inside. Poppy was a little star, didn’t hear a peep from her. 🐾🐾😍
Hi all , that is really cool we stay on a family run site just across from there , where there is another part to this museum on their site , really cheap electric hook up was only £11 a night , no showers , but has a decent loo waste and water fill up with a wash room and toilet etc. We never saw the museum open has out all day , did see the Vulcans last flight down there though. Some of those relics you saw have been dug up by metal detectorists in the area. We have been celebrating VJ day in honour of my Grand Father in the forgotten army today. :) Stay safe and best wishes
Very well done video and what a place ! a true memorial to those that perished in order that we would live without tyranny, the British spirit of survival is very apparent in all of those wonderful exhibits of times past,a lot has been achieved at East Kirkby in a relative short period of time, thank you for producing this of your own personal visit.
Hi Bob and Jenny, thank you, I’m now getting my husband to take me to visit this museum. He’s flown into it as he has a light aircraft. Really interesting full of aviation history. Thank you x
Hi bob yes he was shot down and survived he than transferred to raf intelligence in middle east and became great friends with king faisal And worked with arabs gathering info
Fantastic video Jenny, Bob & Poppy. I visited the museum last September 2019 while staying at Delph Bank a Tranquil caravan park in Fleet Hargate Holbeach nr Spalding. I was lucky to visit when Lancaster Just Jane was doing engine & taxi runs! A truly awesome experience & fantastic day so much to see in the museum...Watching your video brought back memories of how wonderful it is there.
Another brilliant video Bob & Jenny. We visited there about 16 years ago, it's seems much bigger now. Found it a very moving experience, we owe them a lot. Thanks for giving us a "second visit". 👍🙋♀️🚐
Hello Bob and Jenny. I'm working my way through your great videos. The museum at RAF Cosford in Shropshire is also a great visit. You pay for parking there but you get free entry. Thanks for your Vlogs, Dave .
What a brilliant video ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Not far from us, we love this place and support it. The owners and staff have so much knowledge 👌 enjoy the rest of your stay.
Another interesting visit, thanks. My Dad was still at school when war broke out. After classes in school and then Uni. he was in the home guard. One of his jobs was to guard Edinburgh Zoo, if a bomb hit they were to shoot any dangerous wild animals before the could escape. Luckily it never happened. He then he became Captain in the Artillery and served in several theatres ending up in Berlin and wasn’t demobbed until 1947.
Glad to see you both at East Kirkby Aviation Centre. I am a member of the association who are raising money to get Lancaster "Just Jane" back in flying condition. It's a pity you weren't there when they fire up the engines and taxi her up the runway. She doesn"t fly yet as a certification of air worthiness hasn"t been issued yet but it shouldn't be long which will make her only the 3rd flying example in the world
My grandfather worked at St Albans exchange in the late 60’s early 70’s. I used to be scared stiff of the telephone but my grand mother used to force me to speak to him while he was at work 😂😂
Nice to see you visiting my area of the UK. I am originally from Scunthorpe, where you were pretty close to :) Those airmen were very brave indeed...We Brits have a long and distinguished military history..
oh this video moved us both deeply and I found myself in tears of gratitude to those brave men, when I saw the wreckage of their aircrafts. As a Victory baby, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have been here. My hubby was born in 1943 and he can remember the sound of the Ack Ack guns from the Royal Artillery Barracks at Kingstanding in Brum, right behind his bedroom window. They had only an tin Anderson shelter, buried in the garden, to run into. My mom told me of the sound of a doodle bug stopping as she ran with my sister in her arms into our shelter. It dropped into the next street over and took out all the homes there. That crater was never filled in. It was years before I knew why there was a hill in that street and not in ours! Did you get more footage of those doodle bugs, hubby caught a glimpse of some inside the hanger. That museum was worth every penny and is a great tribute to the men and women who served and also saved those who did. My dad was in the home guard and did his hours at night, after working a long shift in an engineering factory that made parts for aircrafts. My hubby's dad was unable to serve but taught servicemen how to use grenades and other weapons. These museums are a testament of our history that will be forgotten if not for places like these. Thank you for the footage you recorded, I think I could have spent all day in there.
Just watched this video, really enjoyed it, and thanks for sharing. We are currently in Norfolk and Suffolk and were wondering were to finish our East of England tour, we are definitely going to call in here on our way home.
A museum I have always wanted to visit, thanks for posting your trip and sharing it . As has been said in other comments, the Lancaster Just Jane is not airworthy, but can taxi with paying guests. There are only two airworthy Lancasters in the world at the moment, The City of Lincoln operated by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and V Vera operated by the Canadians. In 2014 Vera visited the Uk and both Lancasters performed across the country at numerous airshows, the first time two Lancasters flew together in UK airspace for 50 years.
Hello just wondering what Jenny’s dad would have made of mrs satnag?! My grandad was an engineer in the war and never liked how anything new was built!
Hi guys, great interesting video. Bob you found the face mask uncomfortable to wear. Have you considered wearing a face shield, I wear a face shield and find it very comfortable, it's just a thought. 🎥X😷X👍
Enjoyed the video Bob, we went last year luckily on a day they were doing taxi runs - found it more interesting Han RAF Coningsby where the flying Battle of Britain Memorial flight is based. Link to my pics and videos of the taxi runs photos.app.goo.gl/QhwspjLRXZZb44bT6 Regards Howard
Great video Bob and jenny. Thanks 👍
Thank you Bob & Jenny a fantastic video, how lucky we all are and how much we owe to them all.
Those airmen were so brave.... We owe them so much

Wonderful! My maternal Grandad was in the Home Guard and I’ve got some photos of him in uniform 😊
Brilliant trip out
Thank you
Great video. That place is definitely on my list to visit. A very well kept and run place.

Fascinating video. If it wasn’t for the brave men and women of the past, we wouldn’t have our future.
Very interesting video, thanks for taking us along

It’s great to see daily videos.
It's difficult to do daily videos, I released this one early because of VJ Day.
Bob Earnshaw
I would have thought so, particularly because your videos have so much information.
Really enjoyed the trip around the museum, that's one for our list of places to visit, thanks for sharing 👍

Hi both of you, you can stay at the museum with your motorhome overnight for free. A very nice stop
Thanks, that's good of them.

My Grandfather was in the RAF in ww2 he was fixing spitfires and lancasters
He did a really important job. You should be proud.
Thank you for showing video Bob
My father was a rear gunner on Lancaster's,brilliant video as usual
Think that must have been the scariest place on the Lancaster.
Hi bob yes he was shot down and survived he than transferred to raf intelligence in middle east and became great friends with king faisal

Never new they had a Mozzy at Lincoln Air Museum. That's just made a visit worthwhile next time I'm down Skeg.👍
It's a good museum, but the aircraft are Mosquito and Just Jane Lancaster.
