Scientists uncover why these tiny fish are so loud | CBC Kids News

  • Researchers now know how a tiny fish called the Danionella cerebrum makes such a loud noise. Scientists from the Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin and the Senckenberg Society Natural History Collections in Dresden, both in Germany, published the results in February. The study found that male Danionella cerebrum have a unique apparatus that allows them to produce sounds as loud as 147 decibels.
