  • This day we took our new Go Plus Float Tube out for a test run and did a little fishing. We talked about how the float tube packs, how long it took to inflate and setup, and how to get in and out of the float tube. We also share some of our thoughts on this Amazon float tube.

    Pretty cool right!? Do you think we should be catching more fish on our float tubes?

    Say a guy at the lake float past me with this while I was in my kayak. I instantly logged onto Amazon and bought myself one. They are so fun and fit my minimalist style. Also fits right in my trunk, I don’t have to put my big kayak on the roof anymore as much lol.

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  Місяць тому

      That's basically how I got into it minus the kayak 😂. Yeah it's nice for quick trips vs bringing the canoe for me.

    I love mine! Been using it for 2-3 years now! Yeah get a better pump and flippers lol takes me only 3-4 mins to get fully ready and sure you’re slower than a kayak but don’t have to worry about a paddle or the wind with the flippers being hands free to cast away and i can still do full loops/laps around my lake

    • @BryanWentFishing

      Thank you for your comment 🙂. I agree 💯% I ended up getting an electric pump to make my life easier. What flippers did you upgrade to?

      @@BryanWentFishing they are just a normal pair i got from canadian tire, not for waders just cause its way too hot and just having your legs in the water is so cooling, but i do have a separate pair that are made for waders for when it gets colder and since the straps aren’t the best i just zip tied them to the waders 😂 i was also thinking of getting a trolling motor and diy a mount if i have too

    Now you got the stillwater angling bug, nothing better. A little breeze is your friend and cloudy days. You dont have to wear clumsy wader boots. I wear just my stockingfoot waders in my kick fins. I wear Crocs walking to the water and put my fins on when I sit down in the boat. If you get some carabiners and some clothes line pulleys and attach them to the bottom of your boat and the back, you can get some para cord and a little 1.5lb claw kayak anchor and anchor up at drop offs or weed lines. That way you are keeping your fly line tight and feel soft takes you wouldnt feel free drifting. Also your back will always be to the wind so casting is very easy. Install a rod holder and get a clear intermediate camo fly line that sinks and fish nymphs, scuds, and leech pattern. I mounted a 4" sonar display to my float tube, it really helps you find weed beds and fish and know water temp. Great video, but please dont post to social media, you wont make many friends from people that fish lakes. I know an out of state guy that did that on my waters, and that winter, ice fisherman kept all the big trout.

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  11 місяців тому

      I agree, the sonar would be nice. Which mount did you use for yours?

    i messed up and fell out of my float tube and it flipped over my head! So now I'm back to shore fishing till I can find a better place to launch (it was my first time and i was stupid and launched in deep water) and also when it's summer again. Love the video!

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  Рік тому +2

      Oh no, I hope you're ok. Yup I usually launch from an area that's no more than my knee deep. Falling in is not fun. I slipped with my flippers at one time and my arm was soaked. There are lessons learned.

    Nice video. Would wading pants be sufficient to keep lower half dry, or are chest waders recommended?

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  23 дні тому

      Great question. I wouldn't recommend hip waders IMHO. The water splashes up from time to time. Chest waders would be optimal.

    I dunnobruh. Nice stable SUP board with a seat installed would prolly be less cumbersome and free up your casting and spotting ability.

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  3 місяці тому +1

      And I totally agree with you. Being low on the water takes the spotting ability away. Casting wasn't as bad as I thought though.

    I only have one question was this float to be considered beginner friendly to start fishing and open waters?

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the comment. I think it would depend on what time of year you go. If it summer, I would say yes it is beginner friendly, you won't need waders if you don't mind getting your lower half wet. If it was done during the spring and fall not so much. The cold water alone would not be beginner friendly. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks again :)

      😂😂😂😂 visioneer right here… in europe its very common to use this, in spain theres even mlf leagues and huge tournaments with up to 500/600 float tubes, this is developed here since it started in early 2000s, we even have trolling motors installed on the lower part of the float, it can take you where shore fishing cant and without the neccesity to buy a boat

    • @BryanWentFishing
