- Hey guys I am currently a network analyst with hopes of soon moving into Cyber Security.
In this video I will be taking you guys through my day as a network analyst working out of a NOC (Network Operation Center).
Its really hard to film in these types of environments so please ask me any questions you may have in the comments below.
Nice to see brothas in the IT field, thank you for this man
@@equim7363 dont overthink man
Appreciate this!
@@kunns123 well said!
@@equim7363 what are you even talking about
Yo ppl wanna yell white privilege im white i would love to do what he does
From a brotha to another brotha, I am so proud to see you doing your thing. Humble attitude. God bless
Nice!! You work so hard every single day I can't wait myself to be a network engineer :) I'm working hard for my future field
Me too
and how do you plan on getting there
keep it that way bro , for better Days.
Don't forget that every network engineer started as a network admin. or NOC Technican :)
That’s why IT is going to grow… welcome to the dawn of the IT ERA
Keep pushing man. Im a Digital Forensics Senior, but I started as a NOC analyst.. it will get frustrating and boring, but keep pushing and stay on those certs.
Most definitely!
Hello @BandTube, care to tell how was the evolution of your career path?
I'm looking into forensics too. Currently I work as a Network Engineer. Could you inform me what are those path you've been taken?
@@ZulhaamID hey bro so I’m currently working as a level 2 tech support specialist. I graduated with a 2 year network admin/analyst degree and working on my CCNA. What’s your best advice you’d give me on cracking a Networking job. I keep getting declined because no Networking job history.
Hi, @@Ali-zd4sz I can't give you solid advice since I have just experienced my network career in 2 years (still ongoing). But, from my respective, I did my internship previously before I have my work now and my degree just correlated with my work now (I have a degree in Telecommunication Engineer).
Maybe you can pass the CCNA exam first, edit your cv with the specific networking jobs posted and apply for it. Maybe building a presence and having digital portofolio on networking (writing/blogging/UA-cam-ing) will get your chance higher. Keep fighting!
me too! I'm doing data analyst then hopefully moving towards cyber security!
What is the difference b/w service desk analyst and network analyst
that civic flex, i see you
Nice to see a brother out here putting in the work. I'm double majoring in aviation and information tech. I want to be an airline pilot and at the same time do remote IT work. There is alot of time off as a pilot, so its good to make that extra bread.
I need your level of focus!
Just like one of the top comments said. Great to see brothers doing their thing in the IT field. Just overcame complacency and landed my first EMR help desk gig. Now I’m here trying to brainstorm a my next move with something i think i will love long term with my current gig and I was thinking something along the lines of systems analyst with EMR systems. But anyways keep doing your thing brother. Glad i came across this. Love seeing ppl who look like me in this field. It’s rare here in NYC.
Makes me happy seeing another black dude succeed, wish you the best! Great video
Seriously ?
Apparently you cant say a nice things about Black people now
@@grzegorztajchman4134 Yeah 😂 People get triggered when saying something positive about Black people but not about Latinos or Asians, it's pure racism
💯💯
I worked as a tech support specialist before the pandemic but got laid off. It was my first tech job and I loved it. The pay was awesome and the job was so laid back. It's something I wish to do in the future and I want it to become my future career.
What was the pay?
Since you've helpdesk experience, you can apply to desktop support or network analyst/technician role( assuming you did some networking work on the helpdesk)
I watched this video a year ago when it was recommended to me by UA-cam and since then, I began watching tech videos mostly about networking and cybersecurity. I was motivated by this video to get a career in IT and network monitoring interested me. Few months ago, I began applying and I here to say I've been accepted for a NOC technician and I've no networking experience except the networking courses I took in college. I'm ready to work extra hard to get a SOC analyst role by April next year. That's my goal 🙏
Thank you for sharing. I'm currently a level 1 technician, trying to figure out where I want to go next. Keep up the good work king!
Great Video Man. You smart as hell for taking on that project. I'm a Core Network Controller for the 3rd biggest network Company here in South Africa and it's quite interesting how your day or shifts rather are a bit different from mine. Basics pretty much the same though
Love seeing people like me in the tech field! Huge inspiration man thank you
Thanks for this! Currently taking some network courses with Cisco. I plan on leaning more towards cybersecurity but I want to learn more aspects of IT
Do a vid on how you got where you are today, id like to be a network analyst myself
Thanks for sharing man, switching into IT right now and looking at networking as an entry point. Definitely appreciate you putting this kind of info out for those of us that haven't experienced it yet. I only watched the first few seconds of the vid, though, cause of the Braves shirt, didn't expect much after seeing that.....just playin. Thanks again man, good stuff. Go Tribe.
Any update?
I am in school studying to be cyber security analyst… Ask no topic, I live in Los Angeles… But my mom used to live in Georgia and she just moved away from the same exact apartment 🥺❤️
Hey man! Great video! Super informative! I'm trying to get into IT. Where did you start and what certs do you have? How'd you get to where you are now?
Thanks!! I actually recently posted a video on the channel, explaining all the questions you have in detail, as well as my IT journey. Check it out when you get a chance!
This is a simple part of the life of a NOC analyst or specialist. Many times, it could be so rigorous, especially where outages are increasing and prolonged and network availability (PTTCH) are dropping. They called us essential workers! I do work 8am-7pm and vice versa depending on the shift. More like a doc/nurse kinda life; working round the clock, especially during the pandemic while keeping the world connected, irrespective of the security situation. Glad to see this!! I'll be moving on to greater things in the IT soonest. The work is most times monotonous, could be boring and too routine, but so draining too cos you're always resolving issues, escalating almost all through your shift and creating and closing TTs. I work in the biggest Towerco in Africa. Nice one!
Any update?
Wrong team! Warriors all day.
Anyway, I'm glad to see you in the IT field. Very inspiring. I just started a basic IT help desk course. I'm brand new to the field at 53 years old.
Wow, congrats! and here I am thinking I am too old for IT being 46. Do you have any study tips or advice for a n00b like me? Thanks in advance!!
Any update?
Bro this is really cool. We have a similar job but I like the different perspective, homie even goes home for lunch tF am I doing with my life 😂🙆🏾♂️
Why homie had to flex the gated community on us though 😂
Right lol
for motivation haha
It’s really good to see this. I’ve been in IT for a year now and never thought I would see it. I plan to move up and forward in IT and this encouraged me more. Can’t dream it if u haven’t seen it.
Would degree do your U think I should pick CS OR AND IT DEGREE LIKE IT AND IS OR IT MANAGEMENT
And I want to be a computer network architect so should I pick a CS DEGREE FOCUSED ON NETWORK AND SECURITY EYC
Hey, I was watching your video and I have the exact same shirt. I also work in the IT field as a NOC tech.
You dont mind me asking what certifications or degree you need for a IT job like that?
look up CCNA certification and learn Python for the automation/scripting he was talking about
Experience over all then worry about certs after you have the practical knowledge
Seeing you work bro is encouraging me to major in this and seeing you work made me smile 😊
I appreciate that!
What programme did you study in college?
Were you in the IT field prior to this position? Having a hard time transitioning careers and would love some advice :)
@Ishmael Johnson CCNA or should i get a Cloud cert instead? I’m not trying to load up on certs i just want to cover the basics and i know cloud certs are very popular these days
This is gonna be me in 4 more years😄 Except im going to school for Cyber Security. Feels great seeing other brothers in the IT Field.
Check out WGU, they have an accelerated Cyber security program for your bachelor's and masters. I haven't looked go much in that program, but it's definitely worth checking out. It's pretty cheap all things considered, and you get a ton of certifications on top of your degree.
Hi thank you for the video
I'm watching this video from Ghana and I'm network admin but with no work experience..
I needed some advices from you, how can be good one...
Please can someone tell me the benefits of being a computer Analysist? I don't know if should study computer science or international Business?
Good thing that you are the first to be at work.
Keep Grinding 💪
Hi I would like to know that would just a CCNA certification be valid enough tp work in a NOC tier 1 job and what kind of prior experience is required can someone without experience get a job in a NOC tier 1 without any professional experience?
thanks
This was the insight I was looking for! Thank you much 😊
Awesome video! I love seeing everyone’s workday.
Me too, how are you Dear
A compact and to the point video, no nonsense stuff, really liked the video... Great👍
Thanks!
Hello my friend, how's it going? I'm working as a Network Analyst as well, I work in a Internet Provide. We use Zabbix, Grafana to monitoring our clients. Today I'm studying to take the CCNA exam, I'm looking forward to pass. Thank you
Hey man just stumbled in this video I've been interested in he Network Analyst job for a while, but haven't seen much on it, would you mind telling me your background or what you'd recommend degree wise, certs to help get your foot in that position. Great video real personal and nitty gritty!
How much stress would you say typically is involved in this your line of work and would you say you have decent work/life balance?

How do you recommend somelne getting into the it field after being our for 6 years with minimal experience
if NOC really does level3 jobs then it is really a fantastic environment. I used to work in an environment, I'm a network engineer and we do have this group of NOC. they dont do level3, not even level2 but instead all just level1. Level 2 and 3 is usually for network engineers
Hi, Brother nice to see u working in the same field(NOC) and I appreciate your hard work.
I watched a 5 minute ad just so you get some monetization :D
Love seeing this black shit in the IT bro on god. I AM doing my research before I take a IT certification course. How many NOC engineer need in night time working?
I have an interview regarding NOC Manager. I'm excited for it
I appreciate this video my brother. Peace and love.

Proud of you my brother ! It is great to see black folks in the IT industry, it is so inspiring !
And... i got a job as a NOC right after commenting on this video. I now work at a telecom company in Boston, MA.

Hey CradlePoint in the house! Lol. I thought I recognized the white device towards the end
Hey I recently started doing the free code camp and python through skill share . What kind of entry level or beginner jobs can I look for ?
If you can find a help desk position at any IT company, that would be a good starting point. Just to get your foot in the door.
we can all tell you needed that "Coffee" break, you spelled it coffe :)
What’s that salary looking like for a job like this ?
you get your coffee break after doing a bit of work?? dude I'm a systems engineer and don't start my work without a cup 😂 hey good going. thanks for the vid.
Your content is unmatched!
Appreciate That!
Can you please do video for us showing how you deal and handle the issues on the phone
Have you done a video on how to get a NOC job? Do you need CCNA cert?
Good LUCK with your Endeavors and your Goals....
Loved it !!! Keep it up man...
Thank you!
“Network analyst” sounds like a difficult role. Probably because I don’t know what network analyst have to do.
Dope vid brother! Keep it up 💪
Hello bro
How do i can start this career?
Good one boss, I am having a BSc in agriculture but wanting to move to the IT, specifically to be a devOps engineer, please what advice can you give to me, is it a good career to pursue and where can you suggest for me to learn this..thanks boss
That cradlepoint love. I have one in my office.
Any advice because I wonder to take it as a career as is it really expensive to go in this path to give exams or to practice labs on paid simulation softwares, etc, daily working at night affecting body, first job comes up to as desktop or help desk or administrator, the career growth becomes steady, less jobs at market, some says it sucks after some years of working, some goes in business as IT trainer after being in an hectic schedule for years. What's true buddy?
So basically a network administrator...
Nope.. I don't think he's basically a network admin, In this case, he writes scripts.
@@gadfusion Actually they do........Devops is becoming a thing in IT networking
Is it the same as a network technician? How much do you make for this job?
the backgrounds of the desktop and laptop seems you've worked in a basketball team?
Would u recommend getting a degree in IT or just certs?
Why is it special to see a black it guy? My mentor is black, makes about 5x the money I do.... We ain't living in 1900 anymore bro..... He just put in the work to be were he at now. Never have I thought he's black or something like that, just this man know his stuff alright.
IT is an excellent career choice …. Anybody can do it simple as that. Just requires motivation and best of all if you learn on the job that’s even better just learn the material don’t necessarily need to pass the exams it’s all about doing
Any advise kindly on jobs, interviews. Fresh graduate with a 2 year degree in computer Information systems with a Networking major. Keenly hoping that a firm would give me an opportunity to bring my hands-on expertise, learn, grow on the job and definitely come with my great work ethics, least I forget--with my very tuneful African accent. Thank y'all for your candid and kind response.
@@eguebedavidFor interviews just read up on the company and job description. Then include the relevant information from your resume into the description. Talk about your customer service experience and know the basics of IT. Stay motivated brother!
Looking to get into the field, awesome channel and great work on the videos. Thanks man
Good video man. Consider making a video on what steps people can take to move into networking roles (any certs, courses, etc.). Also, maybe what a job interview looks like
Hello , what certificate did u get. Also could I jump from comp tia a + to networking and is that a good ideA
What is the job of Network Analysis?
Your making money....nice car ...nice home...and your young.....I need that job
How did you learn scripting? Which resource(s) did you use.
Hey, nice chill video, i liked it! what certifications do you have?
Do you have any certifications?
Please confirm is the red LED lights in the beginning part of everyday life for NA? Thanks for the video.
What certifications did you get so you can get this job, or did you also go to school.
I want to do a PhD in America Network . How long will it take to obtain American citizenship after graduate and get job?
Haha, I watched this video last year when I was working in basic pc hardware job where I was just testing parts. I have been working in NOC for 6 months now. I tell you, its not for everyone. I never went to school for network but I was lucky to get the job because I interviewed well. I have a slightly different take on it. My shift is 1 PM to 9 PM. This shift allows me to go to school in the mornings. There is so much to learn and to do as a NOC person. The only difference of my rewatching this video is that the first time, I could not relate and didn't understand the video. Now, I am part of the video as I live my life as a NOC Engineer.
Do you like the job or is it too stressful?
@@drumyogi9281 August will be my 1 year anniversary and I still enjoy what to do. Was able to receive employee of the month around my 7th month of which showed that my hard work paid off. My manager is going over data recovery training today of which I will be responsible once I completely learn it. Once in a while, I get to train with the Help Desk department to get used to talking with clients. One thing that is stressful part is not having enough experience speaking with clients on a regular basis as Help Desk does. This is where Help Desk is a valuable foundation to working in IT as I hear a lot.
I just got an AA in information tech Nd networking and im scared to look for a job i swea i feel like i lost all my knowledge of it....great job lusjing man
bro no way, I work in in a NOC as well and you live 5 mins from me! I thought i recognized that area
Sooooo inspiring niceee
The way he raised his arms up, I really thought he was about to say "Alexa, Shut the fuck up."
Nice vid! When you said at 06:10 that you're working to send out backup comms to your sites, what type of solutions are you rolling out? We use dedicated MPLS circuits for security & reliability at our sites and we use 4G backups or VSAT backups at remote locations for the HAN solutions. You guys rolling out similar setups?
Ahhhhhh I just got to the part of the video where you're configuring the Cradlepoint! We use those too
Hell yes! Do it man!
Video is nice . I worked for a small company as NOC Engineer. The field is challenging. Sometimes we get back to back calls from clients while Manager is asking status standing next to you. Meanwhile members from other teams pop in to your desk for status and lot of emails internally and from Clients
Situation will be worse during rainy and Cyclones.
Sometimes we get more than 50 outages, logging ticket manually itself will be time consuming (3 minutes for each ticket)
Okay, reading what you posted. I will not complain about my job....lol. I deal with 2 to 4 outages a day out of 150 clients.
I was averaging a call every 20 minutes 24/7.. didn't take any certs big mistake! I however got promoted to lead NOC tech in 3 months maybe cos of my leadership/result orientation trait. Got burnt out, asked to move down role, manager wasn't happy but I did, two months later given more responsibilities... 😂 My good performance was working against me...resigned without having a job lined up... struggled to find a job ever since 3yrs this Dec, the company even closed shop.
Planning to switch to data analysis because I did a lot of reporting and mttr dashboards or maybe I will start racking up certs.
What is the best route! I don't mind advice even though you might say personal preference.
Hey man I just graduated high school and will be attending college at Ut Arlington this coming fall and still don't know what to major in I'd like to know what degree you got to get I to this field. With you being a black male i see you as role model for what my future can be if I'm dedicated . I also would like to say that this channel shows you that no matter what background you come from you can do be anything you want if you put your mind to it.
I’m not the guy in the video but I’m in the similar career field. You’re in the right track in trying to better your future by at least starting to explore career fields and your interest. The IT world is very vast so there isn’t one specific major to go for as they’re sorta intertwined. You could major in Information technology, CS, Cyber Security, they all deal with the same idea but some majors being more “programmy” then others. During the process of your college career or after you graduate you’ll want to start gaining certifications. One good one would be Security+ as it allows you to work for the government sector and broadens your opportunities as you search for jobs. Write up a good resume, keep learning and you’ll do great.
6am? Sod that
I’m an MDM Engineer, salute Black man!
What brand is your chair, looks really nice
