Thanks for making this series I know I’m late but I’ve just bought a ET2 today for the massive sum of £30 it runs rides fine everything works but it needs a full on respray/restoration luckily the panel underneath has been ground back and under sealed already 😂
On a side note, can you ask Lee how long the glue lasts before he has to have it renewed & how much. Being folicaly challenged, I’m really interested Thanks
Hello Stew, Lee here. The glue can last up to 6 weeks , shower and swim in it . Cost varies on type of base. You can buy good systems for about £160 fit them your self and have cut . Some charge silly prices thousands. Mine could last up to 2 years.Cost £495 fitted , works out about 67p a day .Or a lot cheaper if you buy the system and do it yourself.
It's the vacuum operated fuel tap on the bottom of the tank. They always go wrong. Cheap as chips to fix. If the problem persists with a new tap then it will be the reed valve as not enough vacuum is being created for the tap to work. The new tap should fix such a low mileage machine though. Don't forget to drain the tank before you remove the old tap lol I've made that mistake before. Good job on the restoration, it looks fantastic!
Well done Mate, just a little teething problem. When I did my Yam back in the 80s it was perfect. Failed MOT lol, no reflector in the back light. Fitted a push bike one on the number plate.
Congrats on the MoT pass. I'm hoping to get the Vectra through the MoT. It just needs the front springs fitting and the offside front brake pipe replacing.
A Fuel Cut Off Valve? So, only getting fuel that was in the fuel line. Check wiring too for corrosion. From the dust bin to better than new. Excellent series Martin. Now 'Trot On'.
great video m8 the bike is looking great! well done on it passing the mot. shame about the fuel problem but i am sure you will have that sorted noprobs.
If its got the electric solonoid type petrol cut off valve, the wiring on them can get fuzzy making for intermittent ons and offs of fuel, check also the fuel breather as they block up really easy and you won't go far wrong running a bit of redex or seafoam thru as that will dissolve all the varnishy deposits that could be lifting off with use and clogging it all up. Bike looks like brand new and I see you got the red dot of shame on the numberplate, seems some testers just slap one on to make sure, I kept getting 'em on mine despite there being a easily seen reflector panel in the actual rear light and on the side indicators too lol
Great job another project finished you be going back on the reliant next? Thats a good idea Martin you should restore something then ebay it plenty of your watches would bid and you could poss donate some of the profit
That filter in the fuel tank is vacuum controlled so the fuel doesn’t flood through the engine should have a pipe connected to the inlet tube in the carb
retrorestore did you manage to solve the fuel starvation problem mine the other day still had just under half a tank and can be slow on a low tank just asking because I’m thinking of fitting a manual fuel tap and filter and removing the filter in the tank and making the fuel pickup lower

I’m thinking like Tel, fuel cap vent issue. Better fix those tires, too. Great series.
Cap is fine Jim Tyres are new too.
Well done Mate, just a little teething problem. When I did my Yam back in the 80s it was perfect. Failed MOT lol, no reflector in the back light. Fitted a push bike one on the number plate.
Yes, I had to stick that stupid little one on Malc, luckily they sold them in the petrol station where I had the MOT done.
Congrats on the MoT pass. I'm hoping to get the Vectra through the MoT. It just needs the front springs fitting and the offside front brake pipe replacing.
Good luck with that bud. I sense a couple of vids on your channel doing these jobs lol

great video m8 the bike is looking great! well done on it passing the mot. shame about the fuel problem but i am sure you will have that sorted noprobs.
Yes, I was on a tight deadline today, only found out about the fuel starvation 15 mins before the MOT lol
typical m8 lol always the way.
You certainly know your way around a scooter
My gran thinks that bloke who has lovely new hair is gorgeous. Tell him she has every other Tuesday away from the care home if he fancies a date.
Haha, he'll read this.
She's a young 86 tell him
Please tell your Gran I am flattered by her comment.

Not electric solenoid on this one Ian, it's the vacuum type. I'll sort it. Yes the red dot had to go on lol
Very nice 👍
excellent.. there's always 1 little thing..same with me . Cheers :)
Haha, I know. Always happens lol
Cdi Vespa piaggio

Ok, now paint the transam!!! Lee wants it and so do we!
Yes, its nearly ready for paint.
Sometimes you guy get chatting up and I can’t understand what you’re saying but I love keep it Martin
Haha, thanks Rob
well done with the vespa resto, glad it passed the mot ------ do you fancy doing one last video in a while to let everyone know how it's performing?
Yes Steve, I'll be doing that.
Well done locks great, so dose Lee's hair.
Haha, both have been restored lol
Lee's hair looks a tad too good..Needs a retro patina and a mess around....
Then he can hit the dating apps...:p
Thank you. It was dyed a bit too dark, but as I wash it the grey flecks are coming through looking more natural.
Ah! Congratulations! Looks a Spanker! Out the door....! ;) Robin..Then the Acclaim...(My personal Favorite)
A little tinker here and there . NO PROBLEM .. MOT IN HAND !!
You got it Shawn.
Great job another project finished you be going back on the reliant next? Thats a good idea Martin you should restore something then ebay it plenty of your watches would bid and you could poss donate some of the profit
Yes back on the Reliant John, Want it finished then finish the Acclaim.
That filter in the fuel tank is vacuum controlled so the fuel doesn’t flood through the engine should have a pipe connected to the inlet tube in the carb
Yes, that's right Patrick.
Cheers
Martin
retrorestore did you manage to solve the fuel starvation problem mine the other day still had just under half a tank and can be slow on a low tank just asking because I’m thinking of fitting a manual fuel tap and filter and removing the filter in the tank and making the fuel pickup lower
Well done. Hope that fuel filter is easy todo. Now into the trotter van? All the best
Yes its an easy fix Greg. One on order at £12.00
What size main jet did you end up using after doing the plug chop? Great series by the way!
I can't remember but I thought I said in the videos what I finally used.
nice job mate about time lol
Haha, only 4 years Leon lol
If you showed us the rear of the completed bike, we could have told you about the reflector and number plate. Oh well...
It's a live and learn thing and I learnt.
So much better now its de restricted
It will be once I get the fuel flowing freely.
Once the fuel is flowing freely there will be no stopping the Vespa.
Take the filter off martin, doesn't need it I don't think
It's fuel starvation John. The fuel pipe to the carb was empty.
stick the brass plate back in carb ;)
Why?
👌👍👍👍
Have you still got the bike ?
No, I gave it to my brother and I think he sold it on.
