- This is an install video of the installation of a Infasecure Grandeur Astra forward facing and an Infa Quattro Treo rear facing, in 2018 Ford Ranger MkII, using both a red clip and a Lockie. Includes install and a rundown on safety points and why rear facing past 6mths is advised.
I was hesitant to purchase an open box carseat but it came in excellent condition and saved $35. Box was damaged as stated before I purchased it, but the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxIxQe7nPH74g_xtI5NgiE9-zpGNkfgovw car seat looks brand new and I don't think it was ever used. I will update of course if I have any issues with this carseat but I don't think I will. Also it is surprisingly lightweight, the handle feels secure unlike my previous EvenFlo that was gifted to us. Love it !
Thank you for making this video. Yesterday I failed for a good hour and turned to youtube. Today 5 minute job 🙏
Thank you for this video wish I found this 18months ago as I just couldn't get the back clip tight enough but now a lot easier. God bless
Glad it helped you out :-)
Thankyou so much! About to pickup my partner and baby from the hospital and I have the same seat to install rear facing…. Thanks!
Congratulations!!!!!!! I'm glad it was helpful for you. Remember that bub can stay in the seat until their shoulder reaches the middle marker, without the bum padding in. You can also loosen the tether to get bub in and out easier. And don't tighted it up too tight, just take the slack out ❤
Did I somehow miss you showing the seat belt path for the forward facing seat or it’s not in the vid?
I'm having a problem. I'm trying to convert it to a booster seat now my son is 7, and the back padding doesn't attach to anywhere because it only attaches to the head rest. Is this right? Can it not be used as a booster seat? Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Found it really helpful. I bought a infasecure seat, i will install it tonight.
I'm so glad it helped. That's why I made it :-)
Thank you so much!
Very clear and able to follow easily.
muchly appreciated xx
Installed today!
With a breeze because of your video!
I'm so glad it was helpful for you :-) Dual cabs can be tricky to install in, and I've seen some bad installs, simply because people don't know how unsafe a bad install can be.
Thank you for uploading the video, great job, really useful for me. God bless!
Fantastic video.
Hi there, have installed with no major difficulties though can get the seat to recline?! Should I make it loose in order to be able to do this? The tether its really tight, but the base of the seat seems to be whats holding the reclining position back? Appreciate if you can shed some light here, thank you!!
The seat won't recline while installed. You need to set the recline you want before you install. For rear facing it should be on full recline. For forward facing I personally prefer half to full, so the child doesn't flop forward when asleep.
Bloody good girl, bloody good.
I have dual cab ute but I don’t have any hooks? Do I have to buy anchor points?
Have a look in your cars manual. If you have a Nissan Navara, it has webbing loops at the top of the seats, and this is harder to fit. You'd need to search info for Navarro specifically.
Did you have to thread the longer top tether strap on for the rear facing seat? It doesn't come attached out of the box and I spent about an hour reading the manual and just about tore my hair out!
I'm not sure what you mean sorry? Maybe search me on FB and send some pics and I can try to help? Sorry!
@@charleighbrown592 will do. I picked up a Grandeur Astra today and the strap for the top tether is rolled up separately in the seat, meaning it needs to be attached to the adjuster buckle somehow. The manual doesn't mention anything about how the longer tether strap attaches
Oh gosh that doesn't sound right!!! There's a FB group called "Child Restraints. Is your child restrained correctly'. They are excellent at this stuff, that's where I learnt everything I know. My Grandeur certainly didn't need 'putting together'!!! Perhaps the strap is just pulled all the way tight though and you need to extend it out?
Thank you really helpful video
Thank you great tutorial
Happy to help :-)
I have 13 month old twins in these chairs (rear facing) but I already find there’s not enough leg room. What am I doing wrong???
Are you very tall? My 6ft5 partner can sit in the passenger seat, in front of the RF Quattro. His knees are against the dash though, unless he puts the seat more upright.
Are you using Quattro's or Grandeur's?
What type of dualcab?
Do you have them installed tight, with the red clip or a Lockie? That can make a huge difference.
Do you have your front seats reclined back? I had to put ours a little more upright. We got used to it quickly, and I prefer it now.
Good effort, but 90% of the video concentrates on the rear facing seat. I have a forward facing booster seat that was given to me and have no clue how the lap sash car seatbelt integrates with the seat to hold it down. The stickers on the seat are useless. Cheers 👍
Hi Jason. I'm less familiar with forward facing booster seats, as my daughter is in a forward facing convertable seat. Each brand is fitted differently too. What sort is yours? I'm happy yo5do some looking up and help.
You can apply all of the ff instructions to your seat, just with the belt different.
I’m having the same issue atm… Infasecure Emerge Astra extended harness forward facing seat 6mo-8yr… the seat belt path guidance stickers on the seat are… questionable at best and I literally cannot find an install video anywhere 😢
I'm trying to rearward face a convertible 0-4 years car seat into an X Trail with no access to the boot- lost the remote control key so have to go from back seat into the boot- with an 8 and a half month belly!
Oh hun!!!! Should be able to make tyr tether super long, put the seat in the car sideways against the back of the seat, lean over and hook the tether, making sure it isn't twisted. Then turn the seat around and fit in, then tighten it, but not too tight. Has to be JUST firm, not tight. I hope that helps!
Also, re the boot... there should be a release in a side panel... check your manual or Google. Every car Ive had has had a manual boot lid release. It may be behind a removable panel, usually has a red tag.
@@charleighbrown592 Thank you for replying so quickly.
I'll give that a go later, as im a little busy on other errands now.
@@sally-annebrown1298 best of luck!! I'll keep an eye on my phone :-)
Thanks!
