Great video Matt, the best way to not loose the pike at the start is to walk up to the rod and then wind slowly until u feel the pike and the strike. Mainly try to strike straight away because where the hooks are when they pick up the bait, the hooks will always be in the mouth. But great video and nice venue 👍🎣
MrbluePikeHunters cheers Ewan, the clip was cut down I did feel the fish was still there and don’t usually have issues with hook ups , think them particular bites may have been smaller fish, but thanks for the feedback mate, always looking to improve my technique and angling :)
RKJ Fishing thanks RKj, the uk record is over 40lb, but fish over the 30lb mark are very rare, my target for the year is the break the 20lb mark. They are the apex predator in our rivers, and although aggressive feeders are very fragile and need looking after once caught.
