Are your lead magnets things that you also have as freebies on TPT or are they exclusive to subscribers?

I have used your second method, where I give some teaching tips and then advertise my product that supports that lesson. Although I have some lead magnets with freebies, I have never thought of talking about them on my blog. (I guess I thought if people are already on my blog, they had subscribed and I would be "preaching to the choir." That is probably not true. I need to get these random people who stumbled across my blog to subscribe, right?)

Yes! It's also great to pin a post about a lead magnet and get subscribers through pinterest that way

I'm setting a goal to get an email list started by the middle of August (we start back the day after Labour Day and many teachers get hired the week before).
What do you do about changing that free product? Like, you're mentioning you're going to offer a spring freebie. I assume you'd want to change that for fall. Would all your links out in cyberspace need to be changed or does it happen with the landing page? Does anyone get mad if they click a link on a blog post to join your list but the freebie has changed?
